I usually approach all-you-can-eat sushi with a healthy dose of skepticism. Too often it means skimpy portions, mediocre fish, or rolls that are 90% rice. Ang's Sushi Bistro completely changed my mind. Their AYCE deal covers the entire menu. The rolls were absolutely delicious and generously sized. The sashimi was fresh and quality, which is really the true test of any sushi spot. And somehow, despite the all-you-can-eat format, the quality never felt compromised. Ang's sushi is one of the better places that serve AYCE sushi. You can enjoy some decent sushi there but it's just not as good as you might find elsewhere. We discovered this place after hot yoga one night and have come back many times now. It's our new fave sushi spot! Upon entry, it looks like a typical sushi restaurant. We like that we had the option to sit anywhere we like. I've only ever seen one server and appreciate how attentive he has been each time, even when it gets busy. We're big eaters, so the all you can eat option was right up our alley. Each item we ordered was incredibly flavorful. My new favorite roll is the Yummy Roll and I get it every time we go. Date Night at Ang's was perfect! This was my first time going this place. I wanted to try out their all you can eat buffet menu which was $28. With this option you order from the menu & they bring it out fresh. Our food arrived quickly and was hot and delicious! I felt I got my moneys worth. I ordered hibachi chicken, beef noodles, spring rolls, house salad, and shumai. I was stuffed. If you're hungry, the all you can eat option makes the most sense. However, if you're trying to eat light, just order the entrees. Our server was friendly. My only recommendation is to not order food you cannot finish. I think most sushi all you can eat places charge a fee for wasted food. However, I had a little bit of leftover noodles and no fee was added. The waitress told me not to worry. We went to hot yoga right next door and craved AYCE sushi. We have never been in this area and we were in the car ready to leave then Ang's caught my eye. Dry romaine lettuce (gone are the tender mixed greens), dry, chewy shrimp and dry rice - left an inedible bolus of unflavored goo in my mouth. The beautiful roll sounded good but there was no indication (unlike others on the menu) that it would be a fried roll so I was annoyed at that. Hubby's sweet potato roll had mayo on it. What?! I'm Japanese. The sushi restaurant here is excellent, with fresh fish, perfectly seasoned rice, and expertly crafted nigiri. The miso soup broth was incredibly flavorful. Surprisingly, even the fried rice was delicious, which is uncommon for a sushi place. A friend recommended it, and I can see why they love it so much; I'd definitely go back. Every time I dine here I am so amazed by each and every creation of sushi that this sushi place makes! The sushi is always hand made, you can see the chefs crafting the dishes and taking there time, not only on the flavor but also perfecting the aesthetic. I've tried damn near all the sushi dishes including sashimi, special rolls, appetizers. etc... Its always fresh, its always flavorful, its always creative. The chefs group flavors of sauces together that you wouldn't think will work. My first time trying the Crazy Ang's roll my wig flew to Dubai never to return. The customer service is also excellent here. My order is always correct, whether I call it in for pick up, or I simply decide to dine in after work. The waitress is always double checking my order for accuracy and even offering suggestions to my kid on how to eat with chop sticks lol. New to the area but Ive tried Sushi King, Yama & Masa Sushi but this place beats them out of the water! Love the all you can eat, perfectly portioned salads, entrees, appetizers and rolls. Impressed with the cooks here, they're quick and very attentive to detail and flavor. Love that it's not too busy during the week days as well! Chef Ang doesn't own this place anymore. It's got a new owner and management; it's all you can eat (or a la cart) now too. The menu and prices are all new. There seem to be a lot more rolls and none are more than $10. They also have some noodle and hibachi dishes. Several rolls can be made raw or cooked. I thought the lunch all you can eat was nicely priced at $11.99. The waitress was busy doing some work at the bar off and on. I had some plates on my table for a while, it wasn't busy at all. They seemed to get a little short with me (and want to walk away) when I ordered more. I can eat 3 rolls, ok?! Either way, I got my food fast and it was tasty and well made. The menu can be a little confusing since it has spelling errors, it also has lunch a la cart on one side with all you can eat on the other. I quite enjoyed Ang's Sushi Bustro. They offer good quality rolls for a pretty good price. The service here was also friendly and helpful without being overbearing as I have expirenced with other sushi places around Hampton Roads. The ginger dressing on the salad is the best I ever had. It has so much flavor. It was the first time I've ever been impressed with a side salad with ginger dressing. As for the rolls, they were beautifully put together. Nobody likes a sloppy sushi roll that falls apart when you pick it up with your chopsticks. They also had a nice ratio of filling to rice, and each of my spicy rolls had a kick without overwhelming heat. The dessert was a real treat. Fried Tempura Cheesecake. It was warm on the outside while being cool on the inside and maintaining the consistency of cheesecake on the inside. While I appreciated this, if you like your fried cheesecake to be warm on the inside as well let your server know so they can heat it up a bit longer. I generally love all you can eat sushi! This place looked promising! We came with our kids and from the second we walked in, the sushi chef(s) were staring at us like we were unwelcome. We ordered a few rolls, one of which had fresh jalapeño in it. I started with that, and it was way too spicy for me, which was my mistake. I had a hard time eating any of the rest of my rolls. My kids were starting to get restless, so we asked for the check with food still on our plates. The waitress asked us if we planned to take our sushi home, to which I said sure! She told me there would be an extra charge, so I then declined. She then told me there would a wasted food charge. I find this ridiculous for a few reasons - I would love to eat the food, but my kids were being loud and it was time to go. I wanted to finish my rolls but I was having a hard time because of the spice of my first. We didn't order an unreasonable amount of food for two adults. I don't appreciate the way the waitress treated my family and we will never return. read more

I have worked at a sushi restaurant and have eaten at others, their sushi stays consistent) again, you've been warned.
