Disclaimer about me: I have to eat gluten-free. So i try to choose restaurants wisely; pho (and Vietnamese food in general) is usually safe. My server was not able to answer simple questions about noodles (some rice noodles have wheat, but he couldn't say either way) or how the pho or stir fried rice were prepared. I went with the safest option charbroiled shrimp and steamed rice. It was decent. My friends each had pho and they enjoyed it. They live in Midland and had recommended the place. Food and service were pretty not great, however! the toothpicks are phenomenal! It's been 6 hrs since my meal and that bad ass MFR's still goin strong! This may be the most resilient toothpick known to man. rigid, sharp, and sturdy! If your kid used these to build a bridge for a school project i Promise they'll get a 4 year architectural engineering scholarship! The second time here and I have to say very unimpressed. I was there for 30 minutes and there were nine tables with dishes on them and no attempt to clean them off. Great service, you can get in and out pretty fast and my order has always been made quickly when I order out. The beef brisket pho is amazing, and the spring rolls and egg rolls are great as well. No complaints here, I'm excited Midland has started to diversify. read more

It is at best, decent. Some servers are consistently attentive and friendly and some have consistently looked at me with a blank face. The pho and the vermicelli are alright, though I don't expect much in west Texas. The bun bo hue tasted better than I expected. Their Pho is the best in town, but that is not all they have, everything I have tried has been awesome, from the grilled pork to the chicken. I eat here for lunch about once a month and they always hit it out of the park! Large portions make it worth every penny. read more

I'm in Midland temporary for work and was looking for a Vietnamese restaurant and find this place on Yelp. This place have to be the worst I have eaten. The Pho tasted so blanded, no flavor what so ever. It's like eating pho from a package in boiled water. The special drink that I'd order tasted is old lemonaid. The egg roll tasted like it had been cooked in oil that have been used over and over again for everything else. The fried rice that I'd had order togo, I couldn't even eat. The shrimp that they put in there is old that taste and smell so fishy and spoiled. I'm not sure where all these good review come from but I think it is probably from their friends and families. I've always considered it a good sign to see an ethnic food restaurant full of people of the same ethnicity! And they are correct- this is a tasty place. I found the atmosphere to be comfortable & the wait staff very personable. The music was a little loud but eventually management turn it down. I had the #7 - Pho with brisket & meatballs. It was fresh & tasty. I've had better Pho & Shrimp Summer Rolls but I think for Midland (land of crazy high prices during the oil boom), this is really good & fairly priced. I was happy with the last time I come. But the 2nd time I come, I was very disappointed with the service. Waiters are horrible. They seems to forgot us. I have to walk to the counter twice to talk to different waiters twice to get what we want. My husband ordered Vietnamese coffee & they don't know how to make it. When they brought the coffee out it was in the to go smoothie cup. It tasted extremely sweet...too much condense milk. I have bad experiences here. Most likely not gonna come back. Food was amazing even tho our pho came out quite cold like cool enough to give to my one year old with out blowing on it. We sent it back for a warm up still not as hot as pho should be but the flavor made up for that. Probably one of the better tasting pho's I have had. Chicken wings were piping hot nice and crispy we loved them. Our salad was really good too loved the dressing. Prices are very reasonable for almost 3 full plates and plenty to take home our bill was only 30 bucks. Food came out very quickly that was nice since we were starving. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because after getting our food we never saw our server again. Not for drink fills or our check I had to ask the host to get us a box and requested for our server to come to our table so we could get our check waited another 30 mins and walked up to pay. We had went (2 of us and a baby) around 3/4 pm and every single table had dirty plates. 1 server for the whole dining room, 1 person making teas and coffees, and 1 person making food - it seemed. It took 2 hours to be seated, get two bowls of pho and tea and Vietnamese coffees. The combo beef pho was missing the meatballs. After waiting for as long as we did, we didn't even try to bring it up. The broth was sweet. There were two tables that came in about 30 minutes after us and got their food at the same time. They were also out of egg rolls, and apparently the girl making the tea yelled at our waiter that we told her we desperately needed something. There were 3 or 4 servers sitting at a table, doing nothing, and our server only came by to get our order and bring us food.
