I'm not sure why this place has such a low review. Our food was good and fresh. The service was excellent. We were immediately greeted and there wasn't a long wait for food. We went at noon on a Saturday. The restaurant was clean except for a sticky spot on the table but they had table wipes available so that was an easy fix. We both had a salad and a sandwich which were made as typical for a Panera. I would give it 3.5 stars overall (at any location). read more

I have lived in many places where they have a Panera, I love it. Midland's location fails on so many levels, the inside is shabby, the quality is below subpar, and the staff seems annoyed that you are even there. I have given them so many chances as it is hard to find bagels here. They never have fresh breads for sale and sometimes don't even have any bagels. At one point they didn't open until 9:00??? I am already work then. Corporate needs to come here and clean it up or shut it down. read more

Wasn't as bad as the previous reviews so thought I'd share: The Fuji Apple Salad was delicious! I was with a large group and we noticed the Caesar salads didn't come with much dressing (so ask for more)! Panera's menu has changed, and not for the better. Some of best are gone, like the quiches. We couldn't get the counter help to give us hot water so we could have tea. They said they didn't have hot water. What? No microwave? Then we tried to get them to cut a sandwich in half, but the young man behind the counter told us they couldn't do that. I belong to the Panera Rewards club so I get a free Birthday Pastry every year... Today I came in to claim my reward! First impression was "WOW!" We got there around 10am... the place was DEAD (which is a good thing because I hate crowds). Everything appeared super clean and in tip top shape!! The cashier was simply wonderful. It was a breathe of fresh air to converse with a restaurant employee who actually: could communicate intelligently, smiled, had a personality, wasn't miserable AF. She offered to help carry stuff to my table and even brought me a high chair. (Thank you!!) I was also impressed with 2 other employees I had interactions with. One who helped out with a bathroom issue and another, who wasn't even in uniform/on the clock, who held the door for me as I left. (Super sweet) As for food, we ordered a cinnamon roll and a coffee. My kiddos DEVOURED the cinnamon roll. They said it was amazingly good! I try to not eat sweets but got some icing on my finger while splitting it and yum! Did I detect a hint of lemon in the icing??? Again, not big on reviewing chain restaurants but that's what we do. Right. This PB is as equal to the rest. Great service, good food with healthy options, quick delivery. Since summer is here, I switch to iced coffee and PB has a great deal - cost wise that is. They give you a cup and the cold coffee is out with the rest of the hot coffees and you get as many as you want. Compared to Starbucks, it's half the price with unlisted refills, Starbucks you get one refill, they just don't have the coffee selections SBs has. Compared to McDs iced coffee, price is similar, but no refills. So PB wins that. Free WiFi. And the breads are outstanding. read more

At 6:22 after waiting out front , we go inside and they say, we thought we were out of chicken. Then we found it but it has to thaw. Then they would cook it. Are you freaking kidding me?!?!?? So just wait 40 mins and you'll get your sandwich. They didn't even come out to tell us about the delay. we asked for a refund on the sandwich, which they gave us. I would have gone to Starbucks for breakfast if I would have read all the feedbacks on Yelp first for this restaurant! Unfortunately I did not, so I came to the place. They ran out of souffles before 10 o'clock and they would not make replacements. I ended up buying the last one and it was not my usual selection I would pick. The lady was nice explaining how the baker comes in at night and bakes everything then he leaves, so they cannot make replacements. I'm just amazed how this happens at such a busy Panera as this one is? Other Panera's keep the baker even for morning hours and let him bake on demand. The Cafe Mocha was lukewarm instead of warm and the silverware was so stained (see the photo,) I ended up using my hand to grab the food than to ask for clean ones. The only reason I gave 3 stars for this location, because the lady with a headscarf at the register was super nice and super professional too, just like the manager lady. But I wish they would start making changes so their rating on Yelp could go up! They just explained the stain on the silverware is from the hard water around here at Midland, TX area, which makes sense! But until they get a water softener, I prefer the plastic fork and knife. read more

The service and food here is awful! I'm literally shocked this place is still open! We got lunch here and there was little to no chicken on my huge bowl of lettuce. My salad wasn't even served with the items listed on the menu. I am certain it was the worst salad I've ever gotten at a restaurant. We ordered a bread bowl & soup but we got a bowl of soup with a piece of hard old bread. I asked about the bread bowl ~ they were literally sitting in the rack when we arrived ~ and the manager said they weren't ready. Ummm ok ~ I just waited til we were leaving then asked for the bread bowl to go and she said no! I was shocked bc I'm standing there looking at them. She said she gave us extra bread which she, in fact, did not. This restaurant RARELY has people at it and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND WASTING YOUR MONEY HERE!!! This Panera Bread location is TERRIBLE. Service is so bad. First time I went the lady could barely take my order then messed it up. Also it was very dirty in the lobby when I went. The workers were all around not doing anything and not taking orders. Second time I went I did the rapid pickup and SAME THING, workers not doing anything but chatting and I waited outside about 15 mins only to go inside to pickup my order when I ordered 10 mins prior and said I was there on the app. Would never go back to this location EVER. read more

Fresh baked stuff, cleanliness, and customer service is A+ However it's 5 bucks for an everything bagel with cream cheese and kid sized a chocolate milk. The cream cheese comes in a cup instead of on the bagel and there's only enough for half the bagel in one cup. The everything bagel severely lacks garlic. Also the toilet paper dispenser in the men's bathroom is too close to the toilet it actually blocks you from sitting straight and inhibits complete and hygienic evacuation. On top of that they use single ply toilet paper requiring a cvs receipt length of paper folded upon itself to fully and hygienically wipe your bum. The architect who planned the bathroom should be hung in Nuremberg and the cream cheese nazi who decided on single portion cups should be sent to the Gulag. read more

I've never left a negative review anywhere. I'm not going to leave a "one star" review because it was probably an honest mistake. I did a mobile order and ordered a breakfast sandwich without cheese and a chai latte with a shot of espresso and almond milk. I'm on an all dairy free diet because I have a breastfed baby who is super sensitive to dairy. My sandwich had cheese on it so I did my best to pull it off. There was no sign of espresso in my chai latte, but I went against my best judgment and assumed they had put almond milk in it still. I can confidently say that there wasn't almond milk in it and my breastfed baby and I are both paying the consequences. I mainly want to point out how important it is to pay super close attention to milk substitutions. I could see the cheese on my sandwich but I had to put my trust in the employee who made my drink because it's hard to discern milks. Thankfully my baby is only sensitive to dairy, but some babies have a milk protein allergy and those consequences can be so much worse for those breastfed babies. Had bad experience on 12/3. Ordered a Chipotle chicken avocado melt. When I recieved it, it did not have avocado. When I went back to the kitchen to ask for them to fix it, they told me they were out of avocado. If I would have known this, I would have not ordered the sandwich. There is just something about their broccoli and cheddar soup that completes my whole life. Their salads are so fresh and made with some of the best ingredients that you can find. DO NOT GO HERE. I don't care how much you think you want Panera. We did a pick up order...I ordered a bread bowl soup and salad with upgraded fruit side. They didn't give me the fruit side or the bread bowl and only included a cup of soup. I called the manager who is a POS. He said it was due to miscommunication and they are out of bread bowls and fruit, which sounded like a complete lie. Not to mention they simply weren't going to inform us and were just going to STEAL from me by not refunding for items I didn't receive. Also this was quite possibly the worst salad I've ever eaten. I used to love Panera when they first came to Midland. The 2 times I have ordered the Avocado spinach breakfast sandwich, I paid the added .99 for an over easy egg. TWICE they did not read my order and made it with scrambled. When I called , they did offer to remake it but by that time, I was home and getting on with my day.
