Located next to blaze pizza on 188th st right next to the Horace Harding Expressway/LIE going eastbound. Small interior with a few tables/chairs lining the windows to sit and eat. I must say they were very clean when I visited. What you expect from a premium ice cream store, higher priced but good tasting, and they offer options from cups/cones, ice cream, sundaes, milkshakes, smoothies, variety of topping choices. One person was behind the counter when I walked in. He did not greet me or acknowledge my presence. About 3 minutes of me standing there, another person came from the back and acknowledged I was there. I ordered a small dulce de leche dazzler sundae. From the picture posted on the wall, it appeared to be dulce de leche ice cream with caramel and banana layered between. Unfortunately, the employee filled the cup with just ice cream, threw the caramel and a few banana slices on top, and topped it with some whipped cream. They had no problem putting the item in a paper bag and provided a long handle plastic spoon and several napkins. I paid $9.74 for an almost filled cup of ice cream. Although always delicious because it's Häagen-Dazs, still a small cup of ice cream with what was supposed to be layered toppings placed on top. 3 stars because of the flavor, cleanliness in store, and how my item was packaged to go. This review is less based on the Quality of Ice Cream Haagen Dazs produces but more on the quality of service this spot gives to customer. Upon arriving the shop Employee greeted by saying "what do you want " and asking for samples seemed like I was robbing him of his money lol I asked for the 2nd sample just for the hell of it ... Because why not ;) So after enjoying the two tiny samples I decided to order my favorite Chocolate Salted Caramel flavor and asked for a pint of it to take home. The Employee as I was watching him fill the pint, see how he will fill in separate scoops by leaving space in between the pint. I dont know if this person thinks leaving space in between would save so much money !!! I hope the owner of this franchise reads this, they teach employees to save and nickel and dime everything or who knows maybe they are the owner and doing it themselves. What's up with Haagen Dazs charging $5 for a mini cup? I can get the container at the supermarket for that price. I didn't taste the difference, it's weird! We stopped here because we wanted ice cream after pizza because we make terrible life choices at times and Haagen Dazs was just there in the right place at the right time. We got 2 mini cups, one vanilla and one pralines and cream. The ice cream itself it's ok, it's just plain old Haagen Dazs. Got delivery from this location, a Rocly Road Dazzler. Something about their chocolate makes it really good, it's so creamy and not too sweet. I just came from Hagan Daz and I patiently waited 10 minutes to get served. As I see them scooping up Ice Cream why are they giving no effort. That Ice Cream is TOO SOFT. Best Haagen-Dazs I know! They always have the newest flavors and the best service. The staff is super kind and was patient with me as I was deciding which flavor I wanted out of their many options. They have a sign saying a limit of 2 samples per person but the staff is actually not too strict on that rule. They currently have the new bourbon vanilla bean truffle and Irish cream brownie. The alcohol infused ice creams have 0.5% alcohol. You can really taste it in the bourbon vanilla bean truffle but not in the Irish cream brownie, which is actually really good. I love coming for the chocolate ice creams cause they have so many different types to choose from. My favorites are the Belgian chocolate and the midnight cookies and cream. read more

I would often come here with friends after school and during the summer. I had friends working here every now and then. This my child hood icecream shop...and now I am bringing my kids here for ice cream. Haagen Dazs wasn't always at this location. Applebee's took over their original spot across the parking lot, though they are still within the Fresh Meadows plaza. There is a Chase bank, Michael's craft store, Five Guys, CVS, Qdoba, and physician offices. Not too far away there is a nearby Starbucks, Kohls, Boston Market, Fitness center, boutique shops and even a post office. Haagen Dazs had hand dipped ice cream bars back then and offered custom toppings. They were such the rage then to be able to choose the candy chocolate coatings and dips. Not sure if they still offer that but now they have giant chocolate dipped sprinkles/nuts waffle cones and bowls which are massive once topped with ice cream, whipped cream, and toppings. The ice creams are very rich and creamy and the sorbets are fresh and fruity without being overly sweet. The flavors are excellent...definitely better than baskin robbins and carvel if you compare chain store ice cream but haagen dazs however offer as many flavors to choose from. The cake decorations are kind of basic and didn't change much from how they used to be but I prefer the ice cream cakes here as they are heavier/tastier than their counterparts. My fave ice cream flavors are vanilla chip and strawberry...and my fave sorbets would have to be mango and raspberry! ;-) You can drive and park right up to the ice cream shop, and there are indoor and outdoor seating available. The staff here are friendly and I will continue to visit, it's an all time favorite!! read more

During the summer time, my family and I go to this Haagen Dazs after dinner for ice cream dessert. Vanilla and strawberry sorbet are our normal flavors. They have limited indoor seating and some outdoor seating available. What we didn't like is the staff had no clue what we were talking about when we inquired about their Mid-Autumn Moon Festival Mooncakes 3 weeks prior. They even told us to contact their corporate store or number or whatever. The staff lacked knowledge and didn't even bother to help us whatsoever. Therefore, we didn't even bother to contact their corporate store because it sounds ridiculous!! So because of that, we went to the Flushing branch to get the mooncakes at a cheaper price too.. when we went back to this branch and finally saw the price listed at this branch. #rolleyes Good thing we didn't even wait for the mooncakes at this branch. #SMH #facepalm Other than that, coming here for our occasional ice cream fix is the only thing we will pay for. Having lived in the area most of my life, this Haagen Dazs has been a staple in the community but my most recent visit will be my last. The young lady working was unbelievably rude to my wife and I. This is an ice scream shop, any visit to a ice cream shop should never be short of amazing. My wife was trying to find a flavor she would enjoy and when asked to try a third flavor she was quickly shut down be her quick response of a 2 sample limit. I completely understand the concept of policy and that's fine but understand it's not what you say it's how you say and this girl was nasty enough that my wife no longer wanted anything. On top of that the place was completely empty which I could understand if its necessary when it's busy but you could have simply stated there is a 2 sample limit but I'll offer you one more as a courtesy. How idiotic to throw away a sale because of a sample. Furthermore, if you don't like your job, leave, it's simple common sense. It's incredible to see a ice scream shop with such a terrible reputation online for bad service, maybe it's not the customers maybe it's your awful employees. read more

Unfortunately their soft serve ice cream machine was broken (in the middle of summer). I was a little disappointed because thats my favorite. I saw a cookies n cream shake and ordered a small (over $7!). Thought it was a little pricey and thats without any toppings. It was ok. I've had better. My friend had a dulce leche shake which was basically caramel. I've never seen a caramel shake and was very impressed. It did look good. I'd really like to try this place again in the future. I came here one warm summer's night with my lovely future sister in law. We were going to the movies and had some time to kill before it started. There was no line at all, which was unusual for a summer night but I wasn't complaining. There were a few tables of people sitting inside. A young crowd. A few kids probably from around the neighborhood. They weren't too rowdy. The guy behind the counter greeted us and asked us what we'd like. He was generous with the samples and had no limit to what he'd let us try. All in a nice sized spoon, too. The two of us got ice cream in a waffle bowl. Delicious. Paid $9 all together, which isn't bad. We sat outside. The ice cream was wonderful as we watched the cars and people roll by. Overall, the service was nice and not too expensive. This is our favorite spot hands down for dessert. The customer service is spot on with the friendly staff always helpful in suggesting flavors if you are uncertain. It does not hurt either that the scoop servings are generous. We usually have a few scoops mixing our flavors and have never been disappointed. A few months ago I came here to purchase a birthday cake for my boyfriend that we were bringing to my friend's BBQ gathering. The sign for the cake (it was one of the bigger cakes that probably fed around 15 people?) specifically said the inside was chocolate. My boyfriend picked that one out because the decoration was nice on the outside and he loved chocolate. So I bring this cake to the party of 20+ people (some of who were complete strangers) and when it comes time to cut the cake, some people asked me what flavor it was. I said chocolate. Welllll....come to find out, the inside was all PEANUT BUTTER. My friend that took a bite was the one that brought it up first saying "this tastes like peanut butter!" and I took a taste of mine and it indeed was peanut butter. THANK GOODNESS nobody in the group of 20+ people had a peanut allergy, which is a common allergy!!! My boyfriend the birthday boy also hates peanut butter so he barely even touched his slice and the cake wasn't even finished because nobody really likes peanut butter ice cream (at least not at that party and out of most people I know). Imagine if someone had a severe peanut allergy and went into anaphylactic shock?! I contacted Haagen Dazs and they contacted the manager of the store who then reached out to me.
