Second day open and they didn't miss a beat. Brought our 7 & 10 year old and couldn't believe how reasonable their kids meals were. Lobster cavier is a must and the steak is on point!

This steak is so good that it is confusing, no side dishes needed, the robust and deep flavor of this guy is incredible.

Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse was the next stop on my quest to find the best burger from a non-burger specific restaurant in the area. I called and placed an order for their 9oz Bacon Gruyere Dry Aged Burger. The person taking my order asked me if I would like dessert as well and told me about some of their delicious sounding options. I went ahead and ordered the Apple Pie à la Mode. The sandwich was one of the larger ones I have tried on this quest and was indubitably really good. The dry-aged beef was very tender as one would expect and had a great flavor. It was a traditional style burger with just the right amount of bacon, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions on a sesame seed bun. There was no special sauce and it would have been nice if they asked me if I wanted any condiments. Fortunately I was headed home and had my own condiments to add. I really like boardwalk style fries and Hyde Park's were as good as anywhere. The portion size of the fries was a little less than other places have been but they were definitely good. I somehow found a little room left to consume most of the gigantic Apple Pie à la Mode after eating this large burger. It was the size of a small pot pie which is overly large for a serving of dessert pie. It would definitely be large enough to share with another person after a meal. I was told that all of the desserts are made in house and it was indeed excellent; probably one of the better apple pies I have ever had. The ice cream and caramel sauce that topped it only added to its greatness. So overall it was an enjoyable meal with an even more enjoyable dessert. I would definitely order a burger to-go again from here and based on how good they were I look forward to dining on a fancier meal sometime at the restaurant.

Creme brûlée was horrible. It was grainy and the caramelized sugar on top was burnt.

I ate in the bar/lounge area and the service was great! One of the bartenders served me and she was very attentive even while attending to the bar. As an appetizer, I ordered the cheeseburger sliders ($5.50 during happy hour at the bar). They were quite flavorful and they made me want to come back for a full sized burger! They also came with some freshly cut fries that looked burnt, but were actually cooked perfectly. For my entree, I ordered a 7 ounce filet ($37) cooked medium. It was tiny...it surely didn't look like it was 7 ounces, but I don't carry a scale with me, so who knows. It was cooked perfectly (seems to be hard for most places). It was really crunchy on the outside but still medium. It was covered in a light creme sauce that was delicious. I also ordered a peppercorn sauce which came on the side. Thank goodness it did because it wasn't good at all. It was loaded with capers which overpowered every other flavor in the sauce. The dish came with a free side of onion straws. For dessert, I ordered creme brûlée ($7). It was horrible. The texture was all wrong. It was grainy instead of creamy. Also, the sugar coating on top was over canalized and was burnt. Definitely don't recommend. I rated this 4 stars because the steak was cooked very well (even though it was small). Since this is a steakhouse, I feel like that should carry the most weight. I've attached pictures of the sliders and creme brûlée. I forgot to take pictures of my entree grrrrrrr.

Classy place - we went for a work function and enjoyed a nice, long dinner where we could chat and take our time. It is expensive, but nice.

I had the spritz, which was good, but took over 30 minutes to receive even though we asked about it multiple times and everyone else at our table had received their drinks. My husband had an old fashioned which turned out to be only 5oz. The glass was not even half full. We all thought this had to be a mistake considering the cost and how poorly presented the drink was but the manager assured us that they measure properly. I think they should include this on the description because for $13, we were not expecting such a small drink. Our friends were not impressed with any of the drinks they ordered, either. My friend specifically ordered a double vodka shot in a short glass but received it in a tall glass, therefore watering down the drink. As for food, we shared the marinated feta appetizer and the charcuterie board. Both were good but the charcuterie only had one serving of meat (salami) and the rest were olives, peppers, cheese and grapes. For $19, we were expecting a little more. One of the cheeses, the largest portion, was a very spicy pepper cheese that none of us really enjoyed. The dip was very good - no complaints. We also ordered three pizzas. Our friend got the chicken pesto which he said was ok but nothing great. My husband got the short rib which he enjoyed. I did a make your own, which had literally no flavor at all. The crust was good but that was about it. I suppose that's my fault for picking the toppings but I thought it would taste better than it was. As for service - it was very slow and they were very inattentive. I wouldn't come back here or recommend it. I think as a restaurant that advertises for its drinks and pizza, both were lacking.

Firehouse Tavern - Honest Review…read more We stopped in because one of the ladies in our group was craving sweet potato fries. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were told they're no longer on the menu--even though they still appear on the website. Our waitress explained there's a new manager and they currently don't have access to update the online menu. The atmosphere felt cold and very empty when we arrived, so we asked for something warm to drink. The only options were Coke products, so five of us settled for simply a cup of hot water. There were nine of us total, and the food came out sporadically. We tried to wait until everyone had their meal, but the timing made it a little awkward. On a positive note, I ordered the House on Fire Jalapeño Popper Burger. It came with crispy bacon, cream cheese, and jalapeños. The menu said the jalapeños were deep-fried, though I only received soft ones. However -- the burger was cooked perfectly. I asked for medium, and it came out pink inside, which told me the patties are made fresh. My side was the homemade potato chips, but they were just dry fried potatoes without much flavor or crisp. Once everyone finally had their food, the waitress disappeared. I ended up going to the bar myself to ask for water, and was handed a plastic cup with no ice. We didn't see the waitress again until she came around with the checks. The good news is: They do take credit cards The restaurant is wheelchair accessible -- but only if the correct parking spot is open. Once the lot fills (about 10 cars), the incline makes it nearly impossible for a handicap van to park safely. My burger, fries, and cup of water came to about $15. Overall, I'm not sure I'd return. My friends seemed to enjoy their meals, but between the missing menu items, slow service, and lack of warmth in the atmosphere, it just wasn't the experience we hoped for.

From what our family has seen, there were serious concerns about staff behavior and the overall safety culture within the kitchen and management team. What is even more upsetting is the way serious issues were handled or more accurately, not handled. Situations that should have been treated with urgency, professionalism, and genuine concern were met with what felt like avoidance and a lack of accountability. No family should ever have to question whether a business is doing enough to protect the wellbeing of the people around them, especially minors. Because of this experience, our family has completely lost trust in this establishment. We would strongly urge ownership to reevaluate who they employ, how they supervise staff, and how they respond when alarming concerns are raised.
