The Queen has been into anime, manga and sci-fi forever. She has attended many of the associated conventions and for the last two years, I attended the C2E2 convention with her. Both times we stayed at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, which is so convenient for parking and getting to the hotel. The hotel itself is a great venue for the convention, with plenty of space as well as being great from rolling out of your room right down to the action without having to move your car. The rooms we have gotten have been nice and clean, with the staff being very cordial and professional. I love that there is a fridge for storing my bubbles and any leftovers we may have. The beds are comfortable as well as the pillows and linen. As crowded as the convention gets, we have never had a problem getting back and forth on the elevators. The other nice thing about this location for convention is the parking, which is also connected to the hotel and convention center. You do have in and out privileges, but we have rarely used it beyond the actual days of the convention due to the fear of not getting a spot due to the crowds. There are several restaurants as well as a market place that fill a need for eats that are all right, nothing to write home about but good in a pinch if you don't want to go out. That said, the staff in all of the restaurants were very nice. While there may be better hotels downtown, the convenience of being able to walk from the room to the convention overrides that for me. We have already booked our room for 2026 for the next C2E2 convention and The Doctor will be joining us.

Wonderful hotel attached to McCormick Place venue. Rooms are good sized with all the amenities. Hotel is massive with 33 floors of guest rooms, several restaurants, and direct access to conference center. Stay in the south towers and enjoy the view!! If you are attending any sort of conference at McCormick this is the only place to stay! Attached pics are all the view from room 3326.

I stayed here a few times. They upgraded to a better room. But... They only had the Market to place the order from for food! They are over priced!! They use the frozen pizza, salad was pre-made and so small. Staff at the Arc Bar was too busy to even have us seated so we didn't even get the dinner( that is why we ended up getting food from the Market). Despite all the room the hotel has, there aren't enough restaurants! Also, at other Hyatt regency hotels, they usually have amenities such as make up removers, Q-tips, cottons at the sink counter, there was nothing! If you are looking for some quality services like other Hyatt properties provide, I am not sure if this one is.

10/13/23 UPDATE: After speaking to the Manger Octavio this morning I've decided to change my rating of this establishment: 0.1/5 I didn't complain while there not once but the fact that they charged my account additional money on the day of checkout and didn't notify me as to why... not okay. I called twice - was on hold for the "accountant" for over 10 mins before hanging up. Then I called back and asked for the manager and was placed on hold again over 10 mins. Then the lady came into the line and asked did the manager help you? I told her no and then was told "I'm going to walk over to his desk". She had to walk over to this guys desk (Octavio) in order to prompt him in answering the call. RIDICULOUS. Then Octavio tells me I was charged money because of the "water bottles" in the room when they said "Complimentary". Look, if someone has been traveling, paying an arm and leg to stay at your establishment and does a walk through of the room to see (2) "complimentary" water bottles how would they not think oh these are for me!? Never the less. I was told my funds will be back in my account by next week. HERE's some SUGGESTION: keep the waters at the front desk and give them to the guest at the time of check-in. Also, someone should do a second walkthrough of the room after it's "cleaned" to make sure it's cleaned properly and not lazily. I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE AND WOULD NOT RETURN. ---------------------------- 10/9/23 Rating: 4.0/5 (for Room/Experience) Rating for Market to-go: 5/5 Rating for Arc Bar: 2.5/5 Stayed here 4 days/3 nights. Beautiful and huge hotel. A bit pricy. [THE EXPERIENCE] My room was nice but there were strands of hair in certain places: bed, shower, sink, toilet. Other than the hairs the room was nice, comfortable. Tv selection was subpar - the channel selections was lacking. [FOOD] Ate at ARC BAR and regretted it. The food was disappointing. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Nachos and the shredded cheese they put on it wasn't even melted. So it was just shredded cheese on tortilla chips with meat. - 2.5/5 RUN!!! Don't waste your time or money ordering from them!!! Also visited MARKET TO-GO a couple times --5/5 Customer Service was great!! Lots of selections like: chicken tenders, mac & cheese, other hot side dishes, yogurt parfaits, cookies, health bars, energy drinks, adult beverages, lattes, various snacks AND MORE! [SHOUTOUTS] Micaela at Market to-go has impeccable customer service! Maria her supervisor very kind as well. Front desk staff -- professional and good customer service. Security personnel -- nice - opening the car door for guests when you get dropped off in-front of lobby.

I booked online for a Friday night stay with Saturday check out. I got two beds and a city view (city view is a little more expensive) The customer service at the front was friendly and made sure they explained to me how to use the key fob for the garage parking & where to go. My biggest concern was parking due to the McCormick area being so close to downtown, the parking was just about $40 For a 24 hours stay but you could come and go as you please as the pass is also the key to your room, they also charge it to the room cost at check in if you don't want to pay at kiosk. Wish they had a better deal for parking for guest as the stay is expensive as well. The location is really great especially if you want to have food delivered. The rooms were very clean and spacious. They had a pretty good variety of television and free movies which I liked because I don't like to pay for miscellaneous things when I stay. I also thought the rooms with the city view could be very romantic if you are going to stay with a significant other. I have the biggest pet peeve with their "no trash bags" in the rooms ideal..I don't feel like it is sanitary and leaving trash in hallways out the door is not very aesthetically pleasing...but this seems to be what everyone's doing during Covid. The room service wasn't an option either due to covid. But the entire stay was very elegant I was very well pleased with the quality of the room and I would definitely reserve through the Hyatt McCormick again. The only thing that I did not really care for was that the vending machines didn't have a variety of beverages and a lot of them were not in stock when I tried to leave my room for something to drink they could do better about keeping the vending machines stocked but other than that it was a beautiful stay. Id definitely book again without hesitation!

Cocktail hour took place in the Lobby and adjacent Mercer room. There were two bars - one in the Lobby and one in Mercer - and hors d'oeuvres. I don't know how many guests there were, but it was crowded and tight, especially in the Lobby. Dinner (self-serve buffets), dancing, and dessert took place in the Packard room. I sat down and waited for service; the gentleman who brought water recognized the table was a mess and did his best to clean up the water/sticky residue. I ordered the Alfredo with chicken and mushrooms which was very good; it came with a gravy boat full of Parmesan cheese--a hilariously excessive touch. The Rossilini cocktail with strawberry puree was truly delicious and I'll remember it forever! The bartender was kind and apologetic because bread wasn't ever brought to the table, (he brought it out after the meal arrived) Overall I wished I could give this spot a 5 star review because the food was great but the service was not attentive/generally not concerned about me as a customer-- though most of the staff was friendly, minus the frazzled host.

Being Valentine's Day got me a little nervous if I was going to get my order on time. Well, not only was it on time, scheduled through the wonderful GrubHub app (now with brand new no service/no delivery fees on orders $50+), all the food arrived hot, fresh - even the basket of sliced fresh baked bread was still warm that you could melt a cube of butter on it. I'm not exaggerating that I'm a big Italian cuisine fan. The chicken marsala was 10/10 and the chicken parmigiana with rigatoni OMG the sauce itself alone I could eat with bread alone, and I'd be happy. Healthy salad? sure but why not have it if it comes with Nana's fantastic scrumptious meatballs?! Boy, was I pleased with myself to have chosen Il Culaccino! Will be repeating again soon.
