Lobby vibes

I love staying at the Marquis because they offer a different Marriott vibe the art the food the service is not like general Marriotts

Loved our stay at The Marquis! We stayed here for the Liverpool game at Soldier Field and were so thankful because we had no idea it was a 10-13 minute walk! Also considered going to the Sky game and didn't know it was attached to Wintrust! So if you're a sports fan, this is the place to be! The room was very comfortable! Bed was great! The pillows were a little too soft.. but I think that's more of a preference because no hotel pillow is great to me. The safe was very helpful for the most part. When we checked in the guy did tell us about parking being across the street so we had to figure that out by ourselves which was a little annoying, but that's not a big deal. Parking is so worth it being included because you can just go in and out with your room key and use the cross bridge! Great hotel!

Lobby makes a statement for sure, it's huge

This was a work trip for a convention. The hotel if you are attending a convention, bar none the best around. Everyone else on the trip was jealous of our hotel. Really modern and great beds for getting some rest while away. We have few conferences coming up and I'll be back. Loved the location to the train station. Great neighborhoods to walk to try local food and even pushed it to a White Castle to suit my Michigan taste buds.

Nice hotel but pricey. If you're at a conference, suck it up because everything in the area is pretty expensive. Parking is not included. $50 to $60 a night. The restaurant/ bar is ridiculous, a house Chardonnay is $24.95 a glass. Ouch. The rooms are well kept. The executive suite is large and spacious. Could use more storage areas. Overall this is only set up for conventions and conferences.

We had a beautiful upgraded corner room suite that was not only welcoming, but spacious and sleek. Couches, coffee table and long counter for entertaining (should you choose to do that - we did not), a desk that was more modern and sleek than most. Mini fridge and coffee as expected. The bedroom was large and spacious, which I enjoyed, but it also lacked more robust storage for clothing (no dressers). The bathroom shower was spacious, dual sinks and just overall inviting. The hotel staff were warm, kind and ensured that anything we needed were taken care off, including delivering a second robe and slipped, but I am not sure when it had two (2) on my reservation, it wouldn't have already been there. An extra blanked and kind and hospital housekeeping. The lobby bar and restaurant was buzzing with a lot of people from several conferences. If you were looking to chat, drink or eat, the environment was easily accessible. My husband and I were attending and staying because of a conference and it met all my expectaations. I appreciated that I could just walk down stairs and attend the conference. Oh - and 1.5 blocks away, walking distance, was my morning coffee at Starbucks. I recommend trying the Marriott Marquis in Chicago.

Went here for an evening cocktail hour for networking and appreciated the space and the hors d'euvres served. The convenience for having this hotel connected to McCormick Place - West Hall is nice and wouldn't mind staying here if I had the opportunity. I can't say about the stay since I haven't tried it but the common areas looked nice and updated, I would expect the hotel rooms to be the same.

I really enjoyed my brief stay at the Marquis marriott. I was there for a personal vacation with a friend who is attending an educational conference. I was really impressed with how well ran the hotel was as far as security was concerned. They had a great bar that stayed open late but sometimes not late enough. The hotel was closed to many of Chicago's activities and close to transportation. Our room was kept very nice and we had a wonderful View of the lake. They had a great exercise room which I was able to utilize and the staff was very friendly. I definitely plan to plan a trip back here.

This is my first time in Chicago and stayed here for an Ace Hardware show convention. It was conveniently located right across the street and we just had to get there on a walking bridge. This is my first time in Chicago and really enjoyed the views from our room on the 21st floor. There were two restaurants in the hotel, woven and bound and also there was a food hall, but we did not make it to the food hall. There was also a small convenience store with snacks and drinks, and they also made coffees there as well. We ate at woven and bound twice, and the food was pretty good. When we got to our hotel room, there were still old food in the refrigerator, but we had a housekeeper take it out that was a bit concerning to me seeing as this was considered a four star hotel. If you like it cold, this is probably not the hotel for you. We had it down to 65° and it was still pretty warm in there. The shower was a bit cumbersome it first but eventually, I figured it out. It definitely wasn't in the heart of Chicago because there really wasn't anything around there besides the convention center. There were always taxis waiting outside sometimes we also called an Uber. I'm not sure if I would be back just for the fact that the room just was not that cold and we woke up a few nights just kind of warm. I like my rooms to be like ice cold.

I spent shy of a week at the Marriott Marquis, for a conference. The hotel is pretty nice and the room is are spacious and well kept. I appreciate they have two bags of elevators, one that goes from 1 to 19 and then one that goes from 20 to their top floor. Even though there was a conference, I never really waited for the minute or so to get an elevator which was well designed. They do have a bar and sit down either early that is open full of the times. I walked by from early morning till late at night. They offer breakfast there older. To be honest, breakfast is way too overpriced. All you can eat for 32. My impression of this is it there are targeting with the conference crowd or some companies will likely just pay whatever the breakfast is. However, I thought it was way too much for the items on the map. They do have a food court type eatery that is also attached and as tacos, hot dogs, Pizza and the little bar. Place looked pretty much expensive but that is not open all the time. I have a gym in the building which to be honest I was fairly impressed with most jibs at hotels are fairly small. Have a couple machines that are typically exercise bikes or treadmills I'm over the gym here. Was very robust, having a large selection of weightlifting machines as well as cardio machines. The staff here was super friendly and generally overall accommodating. My one issue where I did not get this place. Five stars happened to be my checked in. I asked if they they could switch me to a King room if possible. And they gave me a long speech about how our request of the feather for a room is allergies and they take that very seriously. And due to that it wouldn't be possible to switch cuz they had someone spend the time defeathering the whole room. So not a big deal. However, when I get to my room I put my bags now and go to lay on the bed and quickly notice some trouble breathing. At first I thought it might just be allergies from traveling but that I felt like it was a sudden And decided to check the pillows. Well to my surprise one of the pillows was a down pillow. I called the customer service desk and they told me it wasn't possible. So I told them I was willing to bring the pillow down or I could just take a picture because I get that they they defeathered the room. However there is still a feather pillow in the room. After a back and forth and having to go down and speak with the manager it took over an hour to get into another. Not great for my first day traveling and to be honest I probably wouldn't have cared as much if they didn't believer the amount of time it took them to defeather the room which is why they couldn't change my room and then it turns out they never actually did that. Overall, this was a pretty big deal. I'm glad I didn't didn't find out the next morning, while I don't have an anaphylactic reaction to feathers I would not have slept that night and would have made my next day terrible If I didn't catch this. For a hotel that's not a Best Western to have so much theatrics around what they did to prepare your room to have not actually done it. I think it's pretty serious. Overall if you don't have allergies, you will likely have a better experience than I did. But if you do, just make sure you check the pillows even if you're in feather free room

I stayed at the Marriott Marquis while working an event there. Easy to get to from Midway airport, the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is close to restaurants popping up near McCormick Place, and the lobby bar has a decent selection of food as well.

Great location connected to McCormick Place convention center. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. The pillows were a little hard;but, found a fluffier one in the closet. All the public spaces were kept very clean including the bathrooms. I would definitely stay here again.

Let's start with immediately noticeable. It's OLD. The decor. The rooms. The check in area. OLD! However the location is in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. Walking to pretty much everything and anything. Also great view to see the difference of the waterways during the St Pattys day parade.

Safe and mini fridge.

Earlier this week I found myself flying to Chicago for a work retreat. Our entire company wound up staying at the Marriott Marquis, as well as parts of the hotel next door. Needless to say, I'm impressed that they could accommodate so many people. That being said, because the hotel was so full, sometimes getting an elevator was a bit of a wait. Nevertheless, I think the hotel and its staff did a wonderful job catering to such a large group. In fact, this hotel made the check-in and more so, the check-out process, so so easy. It was to the point that they had a floor just for luggage storage and they clapped for us and wished us well when we left. I've never experienced that. Ever. It was a nice goodbye. As far as the amenities go, it feels as if this hotel has it all. A coffee shop, a bar, room service, a bed that feels like you're sinking into a marshmallow. What's not to love? I do admittedly wonder about parking, but as I flew in and was taken there via shuttle, I have no idea. I would definitely stay there again, but very likely just on business. I feel that if you're traveling for tourism, there are hotels better placed for the sights. This isn't to say you can't take an Uber or walk, but you'll be waiting a bit, and in terms of tourism, I just feel it's better to be in the center of where you'd like to go.

We were shuttled here from the wedding hotel. The building is cool because it's historic - built in 1936. However, repurposed into an event venue, the interior spaces feel a bit more generic and industrial (typical). The spaces were decorated beautifully for this event. Cocktail hour took place in the Lobby and adjacent Mercer room. There were two bars - one in the Lobby and one in Mercer - and hors d'oeuvres. I don't know how many guests there were, but it was crowded and tight, especially in the Lobby. Dinner (self-serve buffets), dancing, and dessert took place in the Packard room. Again, pretty standard space repurposed for events. Decor, sound, lighting, food, and drink (more bars) were all great. There was even a liquid nitrogen ice cream station. To cool off during the reception (dancing), we went outside to the adjacent Cadillac Courtyard. Restrooms are located in the basement. They were spacious, clean, and even stylish.

"Where do all the Locals go?"…read more I will preface this review by saying our travel partner did a fantastic job of finding this place which had good food, laid back atmosphere and conveniently located to our Air BnB Our last night in the great windy city of Chicago, Il Culaccino was selected as our final meal of choice. It is a clean and friendly establishment and provides decent food as well. Their menu was presented and the popular items were pointed out by our server. Our table was given complientary french bagette to chase our meal. The portions were decent and leaned toward the larger side of the pole and the taste was good. I had the clams with pasta in a lemon butter sauce. Yup! delicious. We asked what the protocol was with respect to the tab and the splitting of it and was pleased to learn and see our waiter make each of us a separate bill. (note- unusual for many establishments so we were lucky) Great way to end our journey! Hana Hou

I got the Orecchiette for my meal. It was a decent portion. There was a lot of variety and plenty of ingredients, so it didn't feel like just pasta. I couldn't finish it all, but for the price, the quality was comparable. I felt like the sauce was a bit runny, and some parts could've used more seasoning. Everyone else ordered a variety of dishes and seemed to enjoy it. If you're in the South Loop area and want Italian food, Il Culaccino is a good option. They have food for all folks and are close to public transportation. Thank you to my group for a phenomenal trip in Chicago!

The second floor space was an incredible bonus.
