Plates from all over on the ceiling. We sat right under a Virginia license plate of course.

My wife and I went into the casino to find breakfast while our car was charging. It was around 8am on a quiet Friday morning and we had low expectations for finding anything good to eat. The Hwy 66 Diner though surprised with great service and food. Our server was very nice and welcoming as we were seated in a comfy booth. She immediately took our drink order and helped with a couple of questions we had about the menu. Checking up on us several times, she made sure everything was right. We both ordered their French toast. My wife got it with bananas and blueberries on top while I had just the French toast but added a side of bacon. The portions are huge and we could have and should have just split one order. They came dusted with powdered sugar, a scoop of butter and a creamer sized serving of syrup. The bacon was floppy as I requested. The meals were yummy but we were unable to finish them. Our server generously offered to get my wife a coffee to take with her and also a water for me. A great meal and service all done just as our car was finishing to charge up.

We were going to a concert inside the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino last night and decided to grab a quick bite at the Hwy 66 Diner! It's definitely a blast from the past (1950's-60's) in every manner from decor to employee attire! They serve breakfast all day along with a minimal selection of dinners, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. We arrived around six and it was perfect timing. Shortly after arriving, there was a line of people waiting to be seated. The food was good, the diner atmosphere was cool, it's nothing fancy, just about enjoying a new experience!

Monte Cristo was good

My husband and I were in The Hard Rock casino and saw that fried mushrooms and the Monte Cristo were the special of the month. We decided that would hit the spot so we took a chance and ordered up. The fried mushrooms were not that great but the Monte Cristo was really good. Motley fries came with the sandwich and they were so good! Motley fries were sweet potato fries, curly fries, crinkle cut fries, and waffle fries all mixed together.

Short Rib & Smoked Gouda Melt - with Caramelized Onions on Grilled Sourdough Bread. Motley Fries

Had lunch here at HWY 66 Diner today and ordered Fried Green Beans and Beef Short Rib & Smoked Gouda Melt - with Caramelized Onions on Grilled Sourdough Bread. The fried green beans were spicy good (like they used either ground up Cheddar Jalapeño Cheetos or Flaming Hot Cheetos as a dredge.) The sandwich of buttered and grilled sourdough bread was stuffed full of short rib meat, onions and cheese -- half a sandwich was plenty for me. The "Motley Fries" were good too. Our waitress, "Gail F," was a delight!

Grilled cheese on jalapeño cheddar brioche and tomato soup! Highly recommend! Wasn't spicy at all, just had the flavor of jalapeño. Can't wait to go back and get it again! Great chocolate shakes as well!

I would give this place five stars because they serve decent food and are opened 24/7. It's a nice place to drop by if you want to eat something late at night. There are not many late night food places in Tulsa other than the usual IHOP, Denny's and Whataburger. I liked the $9 Belgian waffles that I ordered although I wish it included all strawberries, blueberries and bananas instead of the choice of one. Maybe I should ask if it is possible next time. My husband enjoyed his double cheeseburger ($9). They also have weekly specials, so do check their website for them. I may give their Salisbury steak a try from April 1-8. I guess the drawback of eating here is that you may be drawn to the casino.

Breakfast special from Hwy 66 Diner inside the HardRock

Those pancakes were everything!! they weren't overly think like IHOP but had more of an old fashioned flavor/texture. They were soo good. I opted a to-go order and ate in my room which was amazing as well. I ordered extra, extra bacon (because I to the fullest extent) but it just didn't seem like it was enough. Nonetheless it was still a great meal. The chef even got my egg order right, scrambled soft *side bar* the old school vibes is to die for. I love the atmosphere and staff is always friendly when I go. I love their uniforms and camaraderie of the staff!

Counter seats

Fun concept, and large portions, but the service has been bad the 2 times I've visited. If you go in expecting bad service, you won't be disappointed. The waitresses are stretched pretty thin (only saw 2 on a night when the place was packed) but honestly all they do is take your order and bring you your ticket. The guys working the counter bring you your food and on my last visit someone else refilled our drinks. So if you go just for the food you should be ok. Speaking of food, that is the only reason I didn't give this diner less stars. The bologna sandwich is huge! Sounds weird to order out but it's so good! Thick cut beef bologna smothered in BBQ (I'm thinking Head Country but I'm not sure), topped with cheese and an onion ring. And if the sandwich isn't enough for you, it comes with an order of fries. On my first visit my hubby and I shared a milkshake - not to be romantic or anything, it was just a lot of milkshake lol. They give you a tall glass filled to the top...and a refill...the refill is bigger than the milkshake glass. Basically you are getting 2 milkshakes for the price of one! Hubby and I drank one, and my in-laws drank the other, and all of us were happy. My in-laws shared the "Oklahoma Hubcap" which is a huge chicken fried steak. They seemed pretty happy with it. I love the license plate art on the ceiling and going up the wall outside of the diner, and the Route 66 art! They have a projector screen on one wall that shows old tv shows or sports, and one other tv in back/front window area of the diner. The booths are comfy and there is plenty of seating. They also offer counter seating if you're into that, but there's nothing to watch there but the employees goofing off. If the service improves I'll be a happy camper. Final thoughts: the food is definitely big enough to share, which makes your bill cheaper; try the bologna and a milkshake; and don't expect stellar service. :)

Chicken and Waffles

Enjoyed lunch in this cute little diner. We were seated quickly and our waitress was a sweetheart (Emily) and attentive. We ordered the following: HWY 66 Club, Chicken & Waffles and a Cookies & Cream shake. The club was filling and the fries were a combination of regular fries, waffle fries and sweet potato fries. My meal was tasty, but I definitely enjoyed my husbands chicken and waffles more. The waffle was hot, fluffy and the butter spread nicely. The chicken was very juicy and it was breaded lightly, which I favor because it didn't overpower the chicken. There was also a side of fried potatoes which had a nice crunch, but still remained a soft potato on the inside. Now on to the amazing shake! A very creamy shake that was topped with whipped cream and cookie pieces. You are provided with the extra shake that didn't fit into the milkshake glass. I recommend getting a bite there if you visit the Hard Rock Hotel.

Ginormous chili cheese dog, enough for 2

Sometimes places seem a lot better than they really are when: 1) you're drunk and 2) it's free. So I think the rating might be slightly inflated as a result. But as far as casino food and late night diner food goes, no complaints here! The restaurant nails the diner theme, and the service is typically above average. The menu has lots of options that include a variety of dessert options. The slices of cake a ridic huge, and feed 5-6 easily. The milkshakes are also a large serving, and they give you anything extra that doesn't fit into the cup. The waffles with fruit are very good, but skip the burgers. I was pretty convinced that the biscuits there were the best I'd ever had, but then I tried them again, earlier in the night, and it turns out they're pretty basic, probably the frozen kind, but still tasty.

Have you ever heard about a place and thought "I'll never go there, they're WAY too busy!" Well,…read morethat's what I've always thought about Bramble. I've been interested Bramble for years but would always hear that it's impossible to be seated, especially during peak hours, so I've avoided it. Besides, Tulsa has a VARIETY of other breakfast restaurants with less wait time and are more price friendly. I held off for a while. By time I went, they weren't even at their East Downtown location anymore. But, on Friday August 8th, I saw an opening. After months of distance, I made plans with a friend to meet face-to-face for breakfast. She initially offered to meet at Wildflower but I to try my luck at Bramble (they're only a block apart). I arrived around 10:20am to check out the table wait. It was packed but I was surprised at how much floor space there was. She came about 5-10mins later and voilà! We were seated in like 5mins after that. As we coasted toward our table, in the middle toward the back, I noticed how the modern fixtures & décor compliment the rustic building: large glass windows, light fixtures throughout and large art pieces to capture your thoughts. We were met with 2 servers, one brand new & a seasoned staff-lady who was showing him the ropes. It was great having 2 servers; it felt like we got twice the attention. The experienced waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu which was great because it was HUGE. Front & back, full of appealing options. Given the capacity of the restaurant, I expected the wait for the food to be super long so when the servers returned, I asked for the Breakfast Chimichanga (something I never had or heard of before). As we caught up, I began to appreciate the ambiance & efficiency of the restaurant. Besides a few waiting to pay, no one seemed angry or displeased. The food arrived quicker than I thought! For prime-time seating, it came in about 5-10mins. Having never eaten a chimichanga before, I was definitely surprised at what I ordered and had second thoughts. It was without a doubt good but I figured the meal would've been heartier considering the list of ingredients that were included. I felt the meal was more crisp bread (tortilla) than hashbrown, eggs, or chorizo. I am 100% taking the blame on the meal because I didn't know what I want. My friend got some combination of eggs, meat, potatoes & a margarita, she loved it. Somehow, Bramble has come to be known as one of the more bourgeois brunch restaurants in all of the land. Now that I've atleast ate there, I can say that it's not as overwhelming as it's been made out to be. Unfortunately I feel like the meal choice wasn't up my alley but I do think that Bramble can be both enjoyable& fulfilling under the right circumstances. I'd be glad to return when/if the time is right.
