Unfortunately, my appetite has fled, so I couldn't do my usual "try all the things." I loaded up at that hot bar and had food for the next 3-4 days. As previously mentioned, the food on the hot and cold bar rotates daily. But I was never disappointed with the offerings because there are always at least a few things that I like. Whenever they have anything with broccoli in it, I get that. It's usually a tofu + broccoli combo, and the broccoli is always seasoned to the gawds! Cabbage and sweet potatoes are two more of my favorites here. And it's so easy for me to eat gluten free with their offerings too. (Disclaimer: I avoid gluten due to sensitivity issues; non-celiac. So I do not know if it's safe for those with celiac disease.) The juices in the fridge are good too. I got several hibiscus and ginger bottles. I finally tried a smoothie from here, the Very Berry with agave. It was delicious. The menu is quite overpriced for what you actually get - the portion sizes are relatively tiny, and left me hungry after finishing. The bangers and mash, while having a good flavor, could have really used something crunchy, like warm crusty bread, crackers, or breadsticks, to contrast with the wateriness of the sauce. The service was really nice and attentive however. Between the light portions, steep check, and lack of dish balance though, the experience just didn't deliver.

It needed garlic, parsley, and salt at least! i also ordered lemon pepper seasoning on the fries ($1.50 up charge) but they just gave me plain fries. the fries were soft but that's how i like them. the mango peach lemonade was not overly sweet and didn't taste artificially flavored. the cookies were a good way to end the meal. they were soft and chocolatey but could have used a little more salt to mimic a buttery flavor. i recommend checking your order thoroughly before you leave because we were missing our ranch, banana pudding (they ended up being out), and my fries weren't seasoned. also because i ordered online and used apple pay, it didn't ask me for a tip, which i felt bad about so we ordered cookies when we got there to leave a tip on. something to look out for when online ordering. i didn't go in but my partner said it's a small space so maybe better for take out but they do have a bar and some seating.

Truly - eating at PLANTA is an experience. We weren't sure how busy it would be on a Saturday evening so made a reservation, which turned out to be the right move. We were seated promptly and our server thoughtfully offered descriptions and suggestions that guided us to the following assortment of mind-blowing items: -Bang Bang Broccoli: if you order nothing else, get this. Perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned, with just the right amount of crispiness and a magical peanut chili sauce. -Firecracker maki roll: filled with sweet potato and avocado, topped with a monstrous pile of potato straws, unagi, and glorious sauce. -Udon noodles with truffle mushroom cream: the description is deceptively understated. This dish is magic - thick chewy noodles generously coated in an unbelievably creamy sauce and SO MANY mushrooms. Pricing is fine - more than I'd like to pay for a routine weeknight dinner, but justified by the flavors and the experience of elevated plant-based cuisine. It's a good (but also terrible) thing that I live far away, otherwise all my time and money would likely be spent at PLANTA.

The food is where Ēma really shines. From the Happy Hour menu, the Charred Eggplant Hummus and Crispy Potatoes were generously portioned and great for sharing. On the main menu, the Indian-Mediterranean fusion Bhel Hummus was a party for my taste buds, while the Hot Honey Halloumi and Chicken Kefta rounded out the table nicely. The halloumi is more of a side than a main, but that sweet-and-salty hot honey combo was chef's kiss. For our finisher, the Chocolate Torte knocked us out.
