Very very delicious food--some of the best I have had!! Lower score comes from the hostess/seating logistics. It needs major overhauling. I recommend adding a hostess table and a seating chart and subscribing to open table. Reorganizing of tables could increase seating by probably 20% since there's plenty of open floor space. read more

I've been multiple times since they've opened, so it pains me to write this review but I hope the owners listen to this because I am a return customer. We went for breakfast and the service was absolutely the worst I have truly ever had. The waitress was either high or just plain incompetent, wanted nothing to do with us, and was insanely rude. She could not comprehend our basic questions or requests such as asking for an extra plate and did not want to tell us what the salad dressing options were. The worst service in years for sure. But the hubby ordered a salmon omelet with spinach and tomatoes, and it came with bread he got cinnamon raisin toast. and I ordered the whiting fish and grits bowl with a biscuit instead of the Texas toast. I tasted some of my husbands meal and the salmon was very well cooked. My meal tho was soo delicious!! The fried whiting on top of the grits was fried perfectly with cornmeal in the batter. The grits were perfectly cooked and I added cheese in mines. Yum!! The choice to get the biscuit made it all seal together. Their biscuits were so soft and tasty I ate every single thing on my plate. Decided to go here for breakfast with the family. Restaurant was pretty clean, well lit with all the windows, and the tables were spaced apart pretty well... Which I like. Nothing worse than another table being too close and continually bumping your chair when they leave. It was around 8 am so they weren't crowded at all. We ordered a stack of pancakes alone with a bacon, eggs and grits plate, and of course my greedy self got a cheese steak. Food was phenomenal. Eggs were a lil on the cold side so my 2 year old wasn't having it. (Am I the only one who ALWAYS gets cold eggs when I order breakfast. Joints are never "fresh out the pan hot. But I digress) grits don't come with much salt but I was fine with that. I'd spaz out if they were too salty. everything else was on point. Servers were friendly. My husband and I ordered the biscuit and gravy. The waitress asked us what kind of gravy we wanted. What? I said sausage gravy. She said Pork then. I asked if the Pork had sausage in it and she said yes. I heard her talking to the chef and he was saying it didn't but he would put sausage on it. You could tell it wasn't cooked in the gravy. It was cut with a knife in small squares and put on top of the gravy. My son ordered the chicken and waffle. I saw the picture of the previous poster with their chicken and waffle and my son's looked nothing like that! Their chicken looked like either one extra large piece or 2 large pieces. His were 2 small pieces so we ended up ordering another piece of chicken that he didn't get until we were all finished eating. The syrup was served in a vinegar glass bottle with pour spout and there was no accompanied hot sauce. Visited here on a Sunday morning. They were understandably very busy, but absolutely worth the wait. Everyone was friendly, and the food was delicious! This wasn't chain restaurant frozen food. It's real bacon, real eggs and French toast with cinnamon butter and warm syrup. My 12 year old says it's the best gravy biscuit he's ever had (and we do scratch gravy at home). I was happy to see an option in close proximity to my intended destination, which was Metro Diner, which was closed due to renovations. Service: The service was very friendly. I actually had two individuals take my drink order. Both were exceptionally polite. Service was fast and accurate. Food quality: I had the Salmon breakfast with yellow grits, and a side order of pancakes. For a $20 meal, I don't expect the salmon to come out looking and tasting like they just took it out of the freezer and microwaved it. While I do appreciate fine food, I don't like to waste food and usually always finish my plate. Not today. The Salmon was just plain awful. If you're going to microwave a frozen piece of Salmon, which is what tasted like happened, at least season it with something. The grits were above average in taste. The pancakes were very plain, with nothing particularly appealing about the batter they must have used. Unfortunately, I would have gotten a much better tasting meal had I visited a local Waffle House for breakfast. Overall: I give this restaurant a 2 because the service was above average. What's surprising is that this location has a better Yelp score than the Original Pancake House, which is off of Memorial Drive and about 10 minutes down the road. However, nothing about the quality of the food is better here than what you will find there. read more
