We needed extensive tree work. Trees that were saplings when we moved in 25 years ago had become big guys, blocking our views. Trees that were mature when we moved in had become huge and dangerous, with limbs overhanging our roof. We needed serious work on more than 30 trees, with complete removal of four. We called Hurricane for an estimate. They came and gave us one the same day. The price was lower than I expected -- only triple what we had paid a couple of years ago to have just one storm damaged tree removed. They offered to do the job the next day. Work began at 7 am with the arrival of a crew of 10 and a lot of heavy equipment. Everyone was very professional. The vibe from the crew as they interacted with each other was positive. The crew chief consulted with me frequently during the day and was responsive to every one of my requests even though each involved extra work for the crew. They worked hard and fast. The guys with the chain saws knew what they were doing In work that is dangerous and requires considerable skill. They finished by 3:30 pm. Fast and fair. Came and did the job they said they would and when they said they would. Took what was requested to take away plus piled some fire wood for us. I so wanted to leave this company a five star review but the job isn't done until the job is complete. They did a wonderful job of taking down a tree and cleaning up some other trees on my property. however there was some damage on two pieces of siding. 10 phone calls and I still have not had the damage fixed. 3 weeks ago they sent me someone that said he would c Fix the damaged siding in a wee. that person never showed up again and I received zero correspondence from their office. I left three more messages for them on their office they sent a different person down this past Thursday who told me that the job will be complete on Saturday it is now Saturday evening at 8 p.m. and the job is not complete incredibly frustrating. He marked the trees that I needed to remove and within 5mins he gave me a reasonable price and told me he can do the job within the week. The crew came early in the morning. About 8 guys showed up, I had 7trees that needs to be removed. One of the guys doubled checked with me on the job that's being done and got the crew to work. Everything was done in about 5hrs and left my yard clean. The guys were very professional and efficient. Nevertheless they're very polite too, they complimented on my house. Rob and mike as well as the rest of the crew that arrived to take our tree down were very professional. They were cautious, moving everything (patio furniture, garbage cans, down to the bird bath) so that nothing would be in the way and get broken. Pricing was very fair, we didn't get ripped off. Rob Nice guy but that's all I can say. Ordered a cord of "seasoned wood" What I got was wood they should build houses out of totally fireproof. It would not burn! Smoked out the entire house. Called Rob said wait a few weeks & I will deliver 3/4 of cord no charge. Well finally months later I got it & refused it. His driver had told me they had just cut it & you could smell it. I am very unhappy with their slipshod work and will never use them again! They were just supposed to take down 4 trees (including just 1 trunk of a double-trunk tree) and trim off branches that overhang the house. Two workers first showed up at 6 PM, with rain imminent. By the time they started cutting in our backyard, it was starting to get dark and eventually another 4 or 5 workers showed up. They wound up cutting down both trunks of the double and taking off all but the very top branches off the trees that used to shade our patio. By around 8:00 PM it was dark & rainy & we made them stop and sent them packing. After speaking to the manager, Rob, 2 days later, we agreed to let them finish the job & clean up (the backyard was full of trunks & branches). A few days later a full crew arrived at 7:30 AM. Besides taking down the remaining trees slated for removal, they effectively cut the top off of another good tree & overtrimmed trees in the front yard that were far from the house (see the picture). Their cleanup was mediocre and our neighbors complained to us afterwards about messes they left in their yard (next door) and in the street. They weren't putting back anything they moved out of the way, like a mini-shed, until I forced them to do it. Days later we found that they had cut down a small, special tree we had in our far backyard in an area they were not supposed to touch. Also, one of the trees they butchered, leaving only 2 branches on the very top, lost those branches in a winter storm. Overall, it was a very stressful experience & I'm quite unhappy with the results. Next time I'll spend more money and get a reputable tree service. read more

The two cords were in fact, 2 cords. I used to buy 2-3 cords a year from the Big "P" in firewood - did so for over 20 years but the last order was short and they no longer gave us a discount for ordering so much wood. I have not burned any of the delivered wood yet, but pretty much all delivered wood from any vendor can use an extra year of drying time. So I expect this to be about the same. Horrible, rude, bordering on illegal! Working for my neighbor, they were supposed to cut down branches that hung over the fence. They came onto my property without so much as ringing the bell - just hopped the fence and started cutting branches from MY tree over MY property. No foreman to be seen, and the crew would not stop cutting over my property until I called the Police. Too late now - they butchered my trees. They cut down several humongous trees (one of them was over 100 feet tall,) that were too close to the house, they removed branches that were hanging over our house, ground down the roots, and did a excellent job cleaning up after themselves. These guys are the best! Rob the owner is a very friendly and very knowledgeable tree expert. The crew that he sent to my house to remove trees and grind stumps were excellent and all very friendly. They cleaned up and left with everything spotless. I will recommend them to everyone. One of the men even removed a bird nest for me so I could put it on another tree. I was impressed with how one of the men climbed the trees and used the chain saw to drop the branches exactly where he wanted them to land. Hurricane removed a large oak in our front yard in late July and we paid them $1500 to remove the tree AND GRIND THE STUMP. We bought a tree to plant in the same space, and we can't plant it b/c the stump still exists just one or two inches below the surface dirt. It is now almost the end of August and the new tree we bought is sitting in front of our house still in the pot. I called them three times last week and my husband called this week and we've still not gotten even a confirmation of a date that they'll be coming to finish the job we already paid for. We have heard time and time again that "Rob is aware of the issue." It's beyond frustrating. $1500 is nothing to sneeze at. If Hurricane Tree Experts took our money, the job should be done correctly. If not, they should hurry here to do the right thing by their customers. I am definitely not recommending this company. read more

They worked on my neighbor's house and were cutting down trees with chainsaws and then using high powered leaf blowers and bob cats for the clean up at 9:30 PM on a weeknight in the summer with all the windows open!!! Then they came back and started up at 7:30 AM!! Heaven forbid you had the day off and wanted to sleep or had a baby in the house.
