Had a micro blast come through neighborhood. We had a large tree hit our house and landed on the wires. We had many broken limbs and damage to our yard. Hurricane came quickly, assessed the situation and went right to work. It took two days to complete all the work. They gave us a fair price and did a great job. They went above and beyond to help us out. read more

Excellent service from start to finish! Peter Garcia from Hurricane Tree Experts sent a professional arborist who took the time to explain his plan for trimming my overgrown trees before starting any work. The crew followed through exactly as promised, worked efficiently, and cleaned up everything thoroughly and in a timely manner. They even noticed overgrowth on some other trees and took care of it at no extra charge. They were professional, honest, and immaculate and went above and beyond! I highly recommend them and give them 5 stars! read more

Look at all their good reviews - YEARS OLD ALL RECENT REVIEWS ARE AWFUL THIS COMPANY IS JUST TERRIBLE PLEASE SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE Had wood scheduled for delivery. Days in advance / checking in every day to confirm. When then we're one hour late I called them and the owner of the company started cursing and screaming at me . Totally wasted my entire Saturday morning with my kids. Can only suggest that you find someone that has a relationship with a wood delivery service, and beg them to make a call for you. if you ever need to have trees removed this is by far the best company to work with. They came in asking what I was looking to have done. So the big trees and how high they were. Gave me the best price and can in a few days later and removed everything leaving me with a new yard. It was clean and what I had asked for. I could not be happier. Truly the best. read more

Received a nice flyer in the mail and was dialing them for a job. i then noticed they had a picture of a 50.00 bill on the flyer with the former president on it. Needless to say, I did not complete the call. why would somebody spend the money for a beautiful flyer to be sent out in the mail, knowing that half of the recipients will toss it in the garbage. read more

Hurricane Tree Experts - Two Cords - Tree Services Near Me - EAST SETAUKET, New York

We needed extensive tree work. Trees that were saplings when we moved in 25 years ago had become big guys, blocking our views. Trees that were mature when we moved in had become huge and dangerous, with limbs overhanging our roof. We needed serious work on more than 30 trees, with complete removal of four. We called Hurricane for an estimate. They came and gave us one the same day. The price was lower than I expected -- only triple what we had paid a couple of years ago to have just one storm damaged tree removed. They offered to do the job the next day. Work began at 7 am with the arrival of a crew of 10 and a lot of heavy equipment. Everyone was very professional. The vibe from the crew as they interacted with each other was positive. The crew chief consulted with me frequently during the day and was responsive to every one of my requests even though each involved extra work for the crew. They worked hard and fast. The guys with the chain saws knew what they were doing In work that is dangerous and requires considerable skill. They finished by 3:30 pm. The clean up was so good that if you didn't know what the property looked like before you wouldn't have noticed that work had been done. read more

I so wanted to leave this company a five star review but the job isn't done until the job is complete. They did a wonderful job of taking down a tree and cleaning up some other trees on my property. however there was some damage on two pieces of siding. 10 phone calls and I still have not had the damage fixed. 3 weeks ago they sent me someone that said he would c Fix the damaged siding in a wee. that person never showed up again and I received zero correspondence from their office. I left three more messages for them on their office they sent a different person down this past Thursday who told me that the job will be complete on Saturday it is now Saturday evening at 8 p.m. and the job is not complete incredibly frustrating. Maybe this review will get their attention. read more

Fast and fair. Came and did the job they said they would and when they said they would. Took what was requested to take away plus piled some fire wood for us. The yard was cleaned up from any debris from trees and also from their lunch. Would definitely recommend since some tree companies don't call back or leave a mess. This company is very pleasant to deal with. read more

After I contacted the company on yelp Robert got back to me really quickly and he came the next day for an estimate. He marked the trees that I needed to remove and within 5mins he gave me a reasonable price and told me he can do the job within the week. The crew came early in the morning. About 8 guys showed up, I had 7trees that needs to be removed. One of the guys doubled checked with me on the job that's being done and got the crew to work. Everything was done in about 5hrs and left my yard clean. The guys were very professional and efficient. Nevertheless they're very polite too, they complimented on my house. With all due respect, highly recommend hurricane tree if you need tree service. You will get the service you need thank you guys for the great job! read more

They came and quoted my backyard on the Friday and were at the house Monday morning. The team of 8 guys were awesome. Super efficient and took down some old dangerous trees around our house. They also took care of some weeds that had gotten out of hand and left the property spotless. Really happy with their work. read more

Rob and mike as well as the rest of the crew that arrived to take our tree down were very professional. They were cautious, moving everything (patio furniture, garbage cans, down to the bird bath) so that nothing would be in the way and get broken. Pricing was very fair, we didn't get ripped off. I had other quotes, some were triple the amount, others were around the same amount. But the way Rob presented himself when he came to give an estimate, didn't make me feel pressured, I knew I was going to go with their company. Thank you all for a job well done. Everything was cleaned up, probably cleaner than before!!! read more

Rob Nice guy but that's all I can say. Ordered a cord of "seasoned wood" What I got was wood they should build houses out of totally fireproof. It would not burn! Smoked out the entire house. Called Rob said wait a few weeks & I will deliver 3/4 of cord no charge. Well finally months later I got it & refused it. His driver had told me they had just cut it & you could smell it. First cord was short. Don't believe there ad very very seasoned wood. It's a year later & it still doesn't burn. read more

This was the first time doing business with Rob at Hurricane Tree Experts and certainly not the last. Rob was very professional, and his prices are great. Owner Robert made appointment for Saturday the 4th of September to trim trees. He called me and said he would be at my house after his 1st job of day in Melville.I asked him about 2 or 3 pm and he stated no way,we will be there before that.At 2:27 I call him and no answer and couple minutes later I text him and wait. Finally he texts back that they are not going to make it.I waited for hours not knowing if they will be here at 12 or 1 or 2 and then ONLY AFTER I CONTACT HIM THAT HE SAYS THEY ARE NOT GOING TO MAKE IT.Wasted hours for this IRRESPONSIBLE company owner to show up and not even a Call to say they can't make it read more

Rob was prompt, fair and clear on his bid. The work was carried out by an incredibly skilled, hardworking crew led by Mike. The workers were professional, pleasant, and willing to go an extra mile on any request. They will be returning to finish the last part of the job, which required the assent of a neighbor. Rob could not have been more responsive or flexible. I will be highly recommending this company to my contractors. Thank you-- Clarke O. in Centerport read more

I've ordered many cords of wood from various places but Hurricane Tree Service is the ONLY place I will order from now on! The driver was courteous and on time, but the wood!!! The gave me a "beyond healthy" cord of well seasoned, well split firewood. I would HIGHLY recommend this company for wood. There are a lot of companies out there that will deliver unseasoned wood, and usually less than a real cord. Not Hurricane. You get what you pay for and then some! The best firewood on LI. read more

I am very unhappy with their slipshod work and will never use them again! They were just supposed to take down 4 trees (including just 1 trunk of a double-trunk tree) and trim off branches that overhang the house. Two workers first showed up at 6 PM, with rain imminent. By the time they started cutting in our backyard, it was starting to get dark and eventually another 4 or 5 workers showed up. They wound up cutting down both trunks of the double and taking off all but the very top branches off the trees that used to shade our patio. By around 8:00 PM it was dark & rainy & we made them stop and sent them packing. After speaking to the manager, Rob, 2 days later, we agreed to let them finish the job & clean up (the backyard was full of trunks & branches). A few days later a full crew arrived at 7:30 AM. Besides taking down the remaining trees slated for removal, they effectively cut the top off of another good tree & overtrimmed trees in the front yard that were far from the house (see the picture). Their cleanup was mediocre and our neighbors complained to us afterwards about messes they left in their yard (next door) and in the street. They weren't putting back anything they moved out of the way, like a mini-shed, until I forced them to do it. Days later we found that they had cut down a small, special tree we had in our far backyard in an area they were not supposed to touch. Also, one of the trees they butchered, leaving only 2 branches on the very top, lost those branches in a winter storm. Overall, it was a very stressful experience & I'm quite unhappy with the results. Next time I'll spend more money and get a reputable tree service. read more

Showed up in a timely manner and did everything as discussed. Fair prices. Highly recommend.

Hired them last year to remove a fallen branch hanging over my driveway and at their suggestion clean up a few other dead branches that may fall in the future. They did a great job. I was at work during the job but was very surprised when I got home. They trimmed all large branches hanging over my driveway from multiple trees. More than I expected and left my property looking better than when they got there. I've recommended them and will use them again in the future. read more

Great team of tree cutters n excellent clean up. Price was well worth it. They removed a big tree in the front of my house and cleaned up a tree that fell on my lawn . They were very careful and meticulous with there work. Great customer service. I will be calling them back in the future for the trees in my yard. Thanks Hurricane Tree service. read more

No change to my initial review. Job still not done after 5 months, No call. No nothing. But they are paid!

The two cords were in fact, 2 cords. I used to buy 2-3 cords a year from the Big "P" in firewood - did so for over 20 years but the last order was short and they no longer gave us a discount for ordering so much wood. I have not burned any of the delivered wood yet, but pretty much all delivered wood from any vendor can use an extra year of drying time. So I expect this to be about the same. Driver was great - he slipped his truck into our tight driveway like a punch card into a time clock. We recommend this company read more

I purchased 2 full cords of seasoned wood. The owner was very responsive, came on time, and delivered a seasoned wood as he promised. Very honest as the amount of wood was definitely more than what he promised. I will certainly use their service next season. Thank you! read more

NEVER EVER call them!!!! Had some trees taken down. Branches fell on fence and broke pieces of fence. Left a mess...on one side of the house they left several cut branches on the premises. They left empty water bottles all over property with several sandwich wrappers. I called three times to get taken care of and nothing. STAY AWAY from Hurricane!!!! read more

This company is the absolute worst , they're employees are extremely rude, there prices are sky high and they tack on fees after they finish the job . IF YOUR LOOKING FOR DISHONEST , EXPENSIVE, SLOPPY WORK , you found your company . Please save yourself the headache and go somewhere else read more

Horrible, rude, bordering on illegal! Working for my neighbor, they were supposed to cut down branches that hung over the fence. They came onto my property without so much as ringing the bell - just hopped the fence and started cutting branches from MY tree over MY property. No foreman to be seen, and the crew would not stop cutting over my property until I called the Police. Too late now - they butchered my trees. Don't even think about using this company unless you're willing to make enemies of your neighbors. read more

Best price, large crew. Tree-trimming effort on specific trees could have been better. Tree removal was good, but would have preferred if the trees were lowered to the ground instead of gouging up my lawn. It's a crazy job, so we can't expect perfection, but still, 3 stars seems sufficient. read more

I was delighted with the job they did. They cut down several humongous trees (one of them was over 100 feet tall,) that were too close to the house, they removed branches that were hanging over our house, ground down the roots, and did a excellent job cleaning up after themselves. There wasn't so much as an errant leaf left behind. The crew was large; there were 8 or 9 workers, all of them were polite, friendly efficient, and very capable. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again. read more

We cannot say enough great things about Rob and all his crew. They are very skillful and every large branch and tree came down in the right place. You do not have to worry about anything hitting the house. They removed two large trees, ground the stumps and trimmed up many more trees. They took all the debris away and left everything neat. We were very impressed and will use them again. The price was very fair and we will recommend Hurricane to all our friends! read more

They re-landscaped my backyard. Took down trees, split and stacked wood, ground stumps, graded the yard, added topsoil, built raised beds, planted the lawn and planted trees. Very professional. Showed up on time every morning. Very polite. Came back every time the rain washed the grass seed down our "slope" - raked out the gullies and re-planted the seed. Everything was great, and a reasonable price. read more

These guys are the best! Rob the owner is a very friendly and very knowledgeable tree expert. The crew that he sent to my house to remove trees and grind stumps were excellent and all very friendly. They cleaned up and left with everything spotless. I will recommend them to everyone. One of the men even removed a bird nest for me so I could put it on another tree. I was impressed with how one of the men climbed the trees and used the chain saw to drop the branches exactly where he wanted them to land. Bottom line is these guys look to have many years of experience and will use them again no problem. 5 stars! read more

Hurricane removed a large oak in our front yard in late July and we paid them $1500 to remove the tree AND GRIND THE STUMP. We bought a tree to plant in the same space, and we can't plant it b/c the stump still exists just one or two inches below the surface dirt. It is now almost the end of August and the new tree we bought is sitting in front of our house still in the pot. I called them three times last week and my husband called this week and we've still not gotten even a confirmation of a date that they'll be coming to finish the job we already paid for. We have heard time and time again that "Rob is aware of the issue." It's beyond frustrating. $1500 is nothing to sneeze at. If Hurricane Tree Experts took our money, the job should be done correctly. If not, they should hurry here to do the right thing by their customers. I am definitely not recommending this company. read more

Totally inconsiderate. They worked on my neighbor's house and were cutting down trees with chainsaws and then using high powered leaf blowers and bob cats for the clean up at 9:30 PM on a weeknight in the summer with all the windows open!!! Then they came back and started up at 7:30 AM!! Heaven forbid you had the day off and wanted to sleep or had a baby in the house. Non English-speaking crew, not even sure if they were legal, so no use trying to talk to them. Rude, rude, rude. read more
