The company came with a large team of both male and female workers; it was evident that the team works like a "well oiled machine" as all team members were actively playing a role in ensuring that safety took precedence and that our property was respected and kept tidy. The team members diligently removed the tree parts and debris as soon as the remnants of the trees touched the ground! We received estimates from 12-15 companies, but Aspen had the most competitive price(s)! Ralph is the owner and he was an amazing, dedicated man. He stayed until 7:30 at night to ensure that ALL of the multiple stumps had been grinded down on the same day that the trees had been removed. We would absolutely, without a doubt, hire this company again: if we need additional tree services! Please note that the company willingly shared proof of insurance (Certificate of Insurance) and proof of Worker's Compensation Insurance, which eased our worries as customers! (Many other tree removal companies had been hesitant to provide such important information at the time when their estimates had been given.). His crew was already in the neighborhood and showed up just a few hours later. They safely took down all three trees (including a full stump grind on the big one near the house), removed a giant heavy branch hanging toward our roof from the utility tree, and trimmed two others. Everything was done professionally with great care around the house, power lines, and landscaping. They clearly know what they're doing and worked efficiently -- the whole job only took a couple of hours. The price was very fair for the amount of work and the risks involved. I recently requested a free estimate for a property in East Quogue which required extensive tree…read morework. There were several dead and dying trees, and the remaining trees on the property hadn't been trimmed back for a good 20 years. They were overgrown. Every tree on the property needed work: either removal or extensive pruning (20+ trees). These are tall, mature white oak, pine, and maple trees. I called several tree removal companies for estimates. Santos Hernandez not only promptly called me back within an hour, he scheduled the in person estimate appointment quickly. He gave an extremely fair and competitive quote for the job after meeting me at the property and seeing the scope of work. He promptly emailed the written estimate and certificates of insurance (liability and workers comp) for review after our meeting. He was courteous, knowledgeable and professional, and I immediately felt comfortable. (I can't say that for other companies that I felt were subtly trying to manipulate me). We accepted the quote and the job was scheduled very quickly. The 4 man crew showed up early (by 7:40 am) on the day of service and promptly started at 8 am. They were polite and extremely hard working. They worked the entire day until almost 4 pm and it was a flurry of chain saws, bucket trucks, and stump grinders- a HUGE job. They raked and cleaned up everything. They all were wonderful. You can tell they are experienced in what they do. They removed all the heavy branches overhanging the house. They checked with me as to where they could move a bucket truck during the work. They had to drive onto the lawn at points to be able to get to all the trees (which of course I didn't mind). I appreciated being asked. In summary, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company! Experienced, knowledgeable, efficient and they offer extremely fair prices! I brought the issue to his attention and offered to get estimates. One company gave us a very high estimate, so I contacted Big R (the tree company my neighbor had previously used to remove two trees). Patrick came to my property and gave an estimate of $850 to remove my neighbor's tree., $100 more if the Stump also. While he was here, I also showed him a tree on my property and asked what it would cost to have it pruned. He recommended removing the tree instead and gave me a price of $300, which I thought was very reasonable. Since his crew would already be coming to the property to do my neighbor's tree, I assumed both jobs would be scheduled together. I explained that I had some unusually high bills this month. He suggested I could give a post-dated check. He seemed fine with that. Patrick told me he would leave the estimates in the mailbox later that day. I then texted the office specifically asking that my estimate be left in my mailbox and my neighbor's estimate in his mailbox. My neighbor's estimate was left in both mailboxes--but I never received an estimate for my tree. I contacted the office again and Bonnie stated she would let Patrick know. My neighbor made an appointment for his tree to be removed on the coming weekend. No communication was directed my way regarding my tree. The morning of the neighbor's tree removal a crew member asked if they could park their truck on my driveway. I said yes. He also said, "it doesn't leak oil or anything." When Patrick was at my property for my neighbor's tree removal, I pulled him aside and asked him directly about my estimate. He told me that he doesn't write proposals on proposal paper because it costs too much and said he would give me the estimate on a card instead. He never left the card. My neighbor's tree removal was completed, and I still have not received the written estimate, no phone call, no text, and no explanation about my job. To make matters worse, the company's large cherry-picker truck was parked on my driveway and left a large oil stain, and no one had the courtesy to mention it or take responsibility for it. I took the time to contact this company, obtain an estimate, and was prepared to hire them. He was accommodating about payment and I was essentially giving them the job. If they changed their mind or didn't want to do my tree, that's their choice--but the professional and courteous thing would have been to simply tell me. Instead, I was repeatedly told I would receive an estimate, followed up with the office, asked Patrick about it directly, and still received nothing. Then I was left with an oil stain on my driveway and not even the courtesy of an explanation. Very disappointing experience. Good communication and follow-through should be the bare minimum when dealing with a potential customer. I would not recommend this company based on the way this was handled.
