Dishonest. I saw Noel Goodman doing work at my neighbors house so I asked for an estimate. It was a small job and they were already in my area. He quoted me a price, pointed out another tree that he will prune and said that I should take a look at his website. The website clearly said New customer discount 20% off on any service. I gave him the ok to do the job. When the job was done it turned out that he did not tell the workers about pruning the tree. He refused to honor the discount and instead said that it should say 20% off a certain price. I believe that he mentioned the other tree to justify the high price for a small job. Disappointed by the level of professionalism displayed by this company. The owner and one of his supervisors came over to give us a quote to remove 2 hanging limbs from our tall tree in our backyard that was damaged from a recent storm. They gave us a quote that we get was extremely high. Once I told the supervisor the quote i had received for someone to take care of the work later in the week he just walked away without saying anything. I hired Noel to trim and prune the trees on my property. I have many old and beautiful trees on my property and my husband and I take great pride in maintaining our yard. A few years back Noel had removed a large dying tree, he was fair and neat so we thought he may be a good guy for this job. I called him and he came over and gave me a price for the job which was a couple of thousand dollars less than the estimate I received from the company before him but as the saying goes YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Unfortunately I learned the lesson the hard way and once a tree's limbs and branches are cut and removed, there's no way to get them back again. When he was on my property giving me the estimate I explained that I don't want a lot of branches cut , only the dead and failing limbs and branches. I also alerted him to the fact that we have lighting in our trees so they need to be cognizant of the wires and lighting fixtures way up high in a few of the trees. He rushed me through as I was explaining and said it will all be beautiful no problem. Clue number one for me was that he seemed oblivious to what I was explaining to him and he never wrote anything out at all about the job, no contract or anything. We scheduled the job for two weeks later, he wanted to come sooner but I wasn't available and he said that's not a problem , there's no reason for you to be here. Thank god I didn't listen to him or All of my trees would have been chopped down !! He showed up at my home on the date we discussed and started chopping away before even alerting me that he was there on my property. He came with a crew of about 8-10 men. I was on a phone call and began hearing chainsaws. I got off the call and went outside and I was horrified with what I saw. There were men haphazardly cutting limbs and branches down in the trees. By the time I got outside they already did so much irreparable damage that has changed the look of my property. Where I had big beautiful trees with large canopies, they are now sparse and disfigured looking. When I originally told him that I had lighting in the trees and they needed to be careful of the wiring in the trees and I reiterated that again that morning, he said no worries we know. When i went to look in my back yard, the huge limb with one of the lighting fixtures was laying on the lawn. They cut the entire thing down light , wiring and all. They took no care or pride in anything they did on my property. The crew was inexperienced and honestly I was concerned for some of their safety even having a chainsaw in their hands. They were asking Noel which way they should hold the chainsaw while they were 25 feet high in a tree. It was unbelievable!!! He even told me which i was shocked that these guys really don't know how to climb on the limbs to prune trees they have to stay on the trunk of the tree. They want the easy way out ! Unfortunately the lighting they cut down lit my entire backyard and so much of the tree where it was mounted was cut down so now there is minimal lighting in my back yard and we will need to spend a lot of money to do additional lighting work It's very sad because he cut limbs and branches for no reason other than to cut them or i'm thinking use for his firewood business. On top of it all he left me with many dead limbs and branches still on many of my trees that he refused to remove because they were too high in the trees as he said. That's why I hired him so not only did I waste my money, he damaged my property and existing trees, and I have to hire another company to finish the work that he was suppose to do. If you care at all about your trees and property DO NOT HIRE NOEL AT GOODMAN TREE! I recently saw his ad in the penny saver for Goodman Tree and on the ad it said Never a complaint in all the years of business and I thought I had to somehow get the word out to other homeowners that you should beware of Goodman tree. read more

I hired Noel yesterday morning and because they finished a job earlier than expected, they completed my job by 8pm in the evening. Noel's price was extremely competitive and the job was impeccably done. There is no mess no leftover branches, his crew ground the stumps from the four trees exactly the way it should be. His crew also went above and beyond and cleaned up some trees in my backyard that needed trimming. I never mentioned any of the trimming to Noel but when his crew leaves they leave an area looking trimmed and clean. very bad experiance. showed up extremely early. i think because he wanted to finish the job before anyone can stop his mess. we agreed it was a small trimming job with the most important thing was to take the debris away. he cut things randomly and decided he was done. he dumped everything in our backyard woods thinking that we would never see it. for $2400.00 when we confronted him on the phone after we saw all the branches and trees he dumped he right away said i did more then you asked and if we wanted him to finish his mess we would have to pay even more money. this is not the way to do business. we would never consider having him back, he actually did more harm then good. i would call him badman tree service rather then goodman. chris read more

Noel Goodman & his team of workers are GREAT! Noel Goodman came to my house ON TIME! He gave me a very great estimate. I then made arrangements for 2 weeks later to have the tree in question trimmed. He & his workers arrived ON TIME, did an excellent job. The clean up was fantastic. His workers are like a fine oiled machine. Very respectful of me, my property & dealt with all my concerns. Used them in the past and had some good experiences , Last one not so good , and will be my last with them . Owner Showed up a hour early than time agreed upon and wouldn't wait 15 mins for me to get there to review the job ( very unprofessional ) be were your supposed to be when you say your going to be there. So he took info over the phone , which right there i knew was a mistake, But i used them in the past and thought OK , he knows what is needed . But that didn't happen because what i asked to be done was the opposite of what they did , people hear what they want to hear. They also showed up a Friday night weeks later at 6 pm with 10 guys without notice and 90 minutes of day light left, and just started cutting away. didn't tell anyone in the house just went and started and did what they wanted . what they did was good , but it wasn't what i wanted or agreed to pay for. I called and discussed and was blown off by Noel that the work was done , basically to bad, If you meet the guy and are EXACTLY CLEAR on what you want done and on a price , and can accept they show up whenever they show up. BUT be prepared to maybe not be home when they show up. Be prepared if you don't get what you want or aren't around to make sure you get what you wanted , You might be UN happy. And they aren't coming back to fix it ! Then they do as good a good as anyone else.If you want a little more professional experience maybe shop around. Have used these guys several times in the past, but never again. Came to remove about 75' of hedges, was told that ground would be left for me to fertilize. Of course, wasn't done that way. Spent a couple of hours picking up all the crap that was left behind. On top of that, was having a PVC fence installed. Noel, the owner, convinced me to use one of his guys, Steven. Price was competitive, but that was all. Shit-show of an installation, and before job started, we told owner we don't pay anyone until the job is done. Well, after 2nd day, job wasn't done, and we weren't paying. Fence guy threatened to take me to court (oh, no!) and threatened to take fence down. Would've been better off taking fence down, since several sections would fall on their own when the wind gusts were about 5 mph. Called Noel at least 10 times, and finally get a call from another installer he uses. Pete came over, and fixed all of the fuck-ups from the first guy, and said this job was done entirely wrong. It was started at the wrong spot, the hardware on the gates are upside down, and there's not enough concrete in each post. To Pete's credit, he fixed everything free of charge, and came back to fix one of the gates, which he was paid for. Fast forward to now...one of the gates cracked. Called Noel several times--he answered 1x. Said we'll talk after new year's and take care of it. Called 2x yesterday, nothing. At this point, realizing that Noel will never do the right thing, my only recourse is to put an honest review of his company online. read more
