Mongolian bowl with chicken, green onions, lo main noodles, etc. I used the Mongolian sauce and hungry bowl sauce. YUM!

This was a very interesting experience. Not bad just a new experience for us. We wish we had more options, but because it was Saturday, we only had the all you could eat options. The waitress was friendly and helpful for us newbies. The tables and chairs could be a bit more comfortable and felt old. Our bench seat moved with the people in the seats behind us. The food was great! Fresh and the choices were too many to try with one visit. I think if we go back it will be on a weekday so we can just get the Mongolian bowl and try different options.

I have been trying to get into this spot for months, since it opened. Pro tip: the best time to go is on Halloween! Nobody was there! The decor is a little rough, considering this place hasn't been open that long, but lets be honest, are you actually there for the decor? No. No you are not. You are there for the AYCE delights so we will go over that now: I did not try the mongolian bbq because my focus was on the sushi, which was pretty good. Was it the best sushi i've had? no. not at all. But it was good! and it was plentiful! And it came quickly! The red dragon roll was my favorite, and the inside out crunchy tuna roll. The crab rangoon i'm positive did not have crab in it. The margarita was 5 but did taste like someone just stood over it and whispered "Tequila" into it, rather than putting tequila in it, but it was fine. Good service, decent price. I will certainly be back.

First time coming here and it was pretty good! It's Mongolian stir fry, sushi and ramen all included in one prince. You DIY for the story fry and can choose from a variety of options which they prepare at the grill and bring to you. And you can order any apps, sushi or ramen right from your table using the iPad. The food was pretty good and the decor was nice and welcoming. Awesome if you're on a budget! if you want drinks or have questions though you'll likely have to flag someone down.

Very cool and trendy All You Can Eat spot. Felt like I was in some Asian country with the decor and it was awesome! The price is well worth all the food you can try from ramen bowels to sushi and of course the Mongolian bowls. Everything we tried was tasty and you need to be very hungry when you go!! We'll be back for sure :))

Very positive experience here. We came here a couple times to check it out and it definitely exceeded our expectations. The food here is surprisingly really good. Everything was fresh and made to order and presented very nicely. The service was great. All the food came to us very fast, which was much appreciated. The Mongolian Grill is really good. The Mongolian sauce was the best sauce in my opinion. That place is designed pretty nicely in here. Actually, really like the lighting and the artwork that they had it looks like they put in effort and the place is clean as well.

Certain food concepts are so inherently cool and uncommon, that you enjoy those restaurants regardless of whether they're great, good or pretty good versions of the concept. Like Hot Pot, or Brazilian rotisseries. Mongolian grills are another example. Hungry Bowl, which recently opened on the Berlin Turnpike, is not just all you can eat Mongolian Grill. They have ramen and sushi as well. But I decided to focus on Mongolian grill since we have plenty of ramen and sushi spots around, but I don't know of another area Mongolian Grill. Mongolian Grills have salad bar style ingredients that you place into a bowl, and the cook will stir fry those ingredients on a very large grill. The bar includes noodles and a bunch of raw vegetables, meat, poultry and seafood. There is also a sauce bar where you custom make your own sauces. Your server brings your stir fried creation to your table when it's done. The concept is genius. It's fun to do, but it also saves the restaurant labor. And if your sauce sucks, it's your fault because you mixed it. In my recent lunch trip, I made two bowls. One had (1) lo mein style noodles, (2) veggies such as green peppers, white onions, green onions, bean sprouts, cilantro, carrots and mushrooms, (3) raw beef, and (4) a sauce mixed with hibachi sauce, sweet chili, chili oil, pepper oil and maybe one or two others. My other bowl had (1) udon style noodles, (2) veggies such as broccoli, zucchini, carrots, cilantro and green onions, (3) proteins such as raw chicken thigh and fried tofu, and (4) a sauce made with General Tso's and Szechuan sauce. You can stir fry at home, but you don't have access to this many ingredients. So if you like to cook, the concept is a blast. Is Hungry Pot a great, good or pretty good version of a Mongolian Grill? I'd say it's probably somewhere between good and pretty good. The beef was a bit chewy. I prefer the chicken from my favorite area Chinese restaurants. The vegetables were all fine, but some looked a touch past peak. I wasn't a fan of the fried rice. I'd rather have a dish made by a great area Chinese restaurant than the bowls I had at Hungry Bowl. But at the same time, I'll definitely be back since I love the concept and live in the area. I'm sure the all you can eat aspect is attractive to some. In terms of non-food elements, the atmosphere was pretty cool. There's a large open space with many tables. The wall art is very bright and distinctive. It sort of feels like you're dining in Las Vegas. My server was very attentive and nice. I think Hungry Bowl is going to do very well. I'm curious to hear how frequent Mongolian Grill Customers compare Hungry Bowl to other spots. I've had it before, but infrequently. My hunch is that regulars will think the food is slightly above average, to above average. 4 Stars

I've experienced all you can eat sushi restaurants. I've experienced all you eat Mongolian grill restaurants. I've had plenty of ramen. Now I can say I had all three (3) at once. I never thought I'd be able to say I've had all three (3) at once. Analyzing the concept to this restaurant prior to opening, I've thought nothing but "that is quite an overwhelming experience have planned for us". But considering my visit was on Day Two (2) of their grand opening, the Hungry Bowl staff absolutely killed it. This restaurant was clean, colorful, modern and full of seating. It was very busy for a Tuesday evening because it seems there is something for everyone here. The only nitpicks I have with the ambiance is I wish the lighting was slightly warmer and the exterior awnings need to be upgraded or removed as it clearly shows remnants of the old FRIDAYS restaurant (R.I.P.). The primary concept here is the AYCE Mongolian grill. For those that are unfamiliar with the concept, you grab a tray/bowl, fill it with your noodles, proteins, vegetables and sauces of choice and then you hand it to the nice man where he cooks it up for you on a hot griddle. You can do this as many times as you like as long as you finish your food and you can also ask for fried, brown, or white rice to go with it. They had fresh meat and seafood, plenty of vegetables and sauces to choose from. The best part was after you hand off your food to the cook, your server delivers it back to your table instead of having to wait for it like a few other Mongolian grills that I've been to. This is great because you have time to snack on appetizers, sushi and ramen as you wait for your Mongolian grill meal. Which only takes 5-10 minutes to get to your table. The best part of the experience for me was the sushi. It was surprisingly good which is why I enjoyed it so much. The sushi was fresh with nice thick cuts of fish and did not have the overwhelmingly thick layer of rice or kani that most AYCE sushi places hit you with. Their sushi in general was great quality especially for AYCE and their hand rolls were the BEST I've ever had. I absolutely loved their hand rolls, it was like a fresh sushi taco. The ramen had limited options and obviously, it's not gonna be as good as what you would get from a dedicated ramen shop. But once again, I was surprised at the presentation and quality of the food. It was served hot, noodles weren't over cooked and the broth was delicious. As for the service, it was very quick and all the encountered staff had a positive and helpful attitudes despite the extremely busy first couple days of this restaurant being open. In conclusion, quality, presentation and service was all there during my visit. I think they took a crazy concept of offering three (3) things that could be their own restaurant and adding the unecessary hardship of making it AYCE was an absolute home run. Not once did I wait too long for something or even thought to complain about food quality. It could definitely be overwhelming if I made it to be and ordered a million things at once but with the tablet order as you go menu, they made it work. If it sounds like it's too much for you, I've learned that when trying new restaurant concepts, my second time around is a lot smoother than usual. So don't be shy and give it a try.

Had an incredible time this weekend at Hungry Bowl. From a recommendation by a neighbor, we headed south to Newington to visit this restaurant on its opening weekend. The area is spacious; it used to be a TGIF Fridays but was replaced by this AYCE Mongolian BBQ/sushi/ramen spot. We were seated quickly and given the overview. Every table has an iPad linked to your table; from the iPad, you can tap the items that you want, send to the kitchen, and eventually a friendly wait staff will come by with your food. The menu is extensive, with many options for appetizers, sushi, sashimi and extras. Drinks are extra and at the moment, desserts aren't offered (but they indicate that they soon will be). After you're done preordering your sushi/ramen, head over to the Mongolian bbq area with a ticket in hand that has your name and table number. Grab a bowl and fill it with all manner of noodles, protein, vegetables, and sauces/spices. Drop it off at the end with your ticket under, and in about ten minutes or so (depending on how busy they are), someone will bring back to you your cooked dish. It's funny... I was thinking the other day how I wanted Mongolian bbq and how Connecticut didn't really have that around, and then this restaurant shows up to scratch that itch! The staff are a bit overworked and harried, but they are very helpful and accommodating to make your stay a pleasant one. Unlike Hungry Pot, there is *ample* ventilation for the main cooking area, so the place doesn't have you coughing for a week after visiting. There is a lot of neon, so it feels a bit like being in the far east as far as atmosphere and style. Looking forward to returning soon! Pro tip: ordering sushi from the menu is by *piece*. The photos show two pieces of sushi per order, but the kitchen will only make one piece for every number you indicate. So if you want two tuna, don't type 1- you'll only get a single piece even though the menu shows two.

Foodie Heaven at Hungry Bowl! If you're into variety and love building your own meals, Hungry Bowl is a must-visit! It's an all-you-can-eat spot with Mongolian grill, sushi, and ramen, and everything was delicious. Come ready to eat! The atmosphere is super cute--floral, chic, and relaxed. Service was fast and smooth. You order apps, sushi, and ramen right from a tablet, and the staff brings it out while you head over to create your custom noodle bowl. There's a huge selection of proteins, veggies, noodles, and sauces, so you can build your bowl exactly how you like it. Honestly, it's a foodie's dream--buffet style but elevated. The Drinks & sushi was surprisingly great although the ramen was a bit salty for my taste but overall you can't miss. It's all you can eat, Can't bet that. Highly recommend if you're into variety, flavor, and fun dining experiences.

It was only average. Of all the sushi restaurants I've eaten at this was middle of the road at best. Not a lot of flavor. As for the Mongolian Grill part they overcooked the squid and short ribs so badly they both were inedible. As this was a weekend this price was set. Overpaying for bland and overcooked food is not my idea of money or time well spent.

Front: from the grill. Back: yellowtail scallion, rainbow roll, eel, red claim, red snapper

In the immortal words of Stefon, this place has everything! Situated in a former TGIF, it is a combination of all you can eat Mongolian/Hibachi grill, Ramen, and Sushi bar. The selection at the grill wasn't as extensive as Gobi in Southington but they had beef short ribs, bulgogi-style. One interesting difference is you get a card with your table # on it, and they bring the cooked bowl to you so you don't need to stand there while they cook it. And fried rice is free. The bowl keeps the food piping hot compared to a plate as well. You order the rest of the AYCE menu through an iPad, which saves on paper but you might want to bring some some sani wipes to wipe it down. The appetizers were generally pretty good but the gyoza were more anemic than the dumplings at the chinese buffet down the road, and they no longer have crispy spring rolls (harumaki). However, the sushi was super fresh! I didn't pay the extra $5 for sashimi. And you only get a single order of tataki. The drinks were pricey too. But otherwise, it reminded me of a combination Min Ghung or Haya Sushi and Gobi Mongolian grill. I am going to wait until the weather cools off to try the ramens. Now, excuse me while I go rent a room on the turnpike to sleep off my food coma.

This was mine and my daughter's first time trying Mongolian food. The concept of this restaurant is so cool because you can have all you can eat sushi, ramen and Mongolian. For me the sushi and Mongolian were the best parts. I had nigiri white tuna and salmon and my daughter tried the spicy salmon roll. All were great and fresh. The ramen choices were miso ramen and spicy or mild tonkatsu ramen. The broth was good, the chashu could have been cut a little thicker. Now for the coolest part, the Mongolian. The options were so plentiful, I was not expecting to have that many choices of meats. I piled my bowl so high with beef squid sausage, mushroom, udon noodle, bean sprouts. For my sauce I got the sechuan and Thai spice along with garlic oil and chilli oil. When the chefs were finished cooking and brought it over, my concoction was delicious and hot(in every sense of the word). I'm so glad I tried this place and will definitely be back. The service was also very attentive. Thank you hungry bowl!

I forget which.) Being CCSU s spring break, there wasn't much going on. That is, we saw a few pickups and DoorDash orders, but we had the full restaurant to ourselves. The waitress was quick, but the to-go orders left us waiting (totally normal, not a complaint.) First, the good: the ramen is a sizable portion. You can tell it's all made from scratch. It's not the saltiest thing you'll ever eat. The spicy is actually spicy, if you mix in all the chili paste they leave resting on the fish cake. I grabbed my chopsticks and dug in, and I was glad I got the $3.50 milk tea on the side (you get it for cheap with a bowl), though I found it very sweet. The pork in my ramen was crispy on the sliver of crust, and the rest was cooked to perfection. Many other places can do it like that, but if they'd messed that up, they'd lose some points. The bad is a very short list. Our ramen had vermicelli or angel hair instead of, you know, ramen noodles. Maybe that's their thing? All in all, a soup place next to the up-the-hill dorms is just what I needed decades ago. I'm rarely up that way these days, but I'd totally stop here even in the summer.

We sat down and ordered the iron man roll, so ramen roll, house ramen and Shabu Shabu beef ramen. It took about 20-39 mins for the food to come out but I believe there is just one cook working. The rolls were delicious and I really like their So Ramen roll. It was creamy and crunchy. My house ramen was also really good and I enjoyed it. My fiancé thought his ramen was a bit bland. But that might just be his opinion on ramen overall. Each item runs about $14 to $20 each. So a meal for 2 can run you about at minimum $40. Overall we enjoyed our time here and would come back.
