Beware!!! This is not the Hunan Wok of yesteryear. Boneless spare ribs were without taste. Beef in the beef and garlic sauce was grizzly and the sauce had no spice whatsoever. Wonton soup broth tasted like salty dish water. Not sure if there was a change in ownership, but disappointment in their food is an understatement. It may have been a bad day for Hunan Wok, but don't say you weren't warned. read more

This is another great Chinese takeout joint which also delivers. All of the food I have ordered has been consistent and delightful. This is also one of the few Chinese restaurants where you can order shrimp with pepper and tomato. There are some tables to sit at if you want to eat in. read more

I've given this place so many chances (mostly because there's really nowhere else to order Chinese from around here) but recently had the last straw. I ordered egg foo yung for pickup and when I opened it at home, it was literally burnt to a crisp. I couldn't eat it and just threw it away. There's no way they didn't realize the condition the food was in--it's just really horrible customer service. This place used to be good many many years ago, but it's changed owners multiple times and now there's just no point ordering from here at all. I'd rather drive all the way to Hackettstown for the next-closest Chinese place. read more

Pretty typical strip mall Chinese joint, but definitely one of the better ones in the area. Generous portions, decent prices, and fast, friendly service. If you're just looking for some decent Chinese takeout and you're in this area, it's a good choice. read more

Best chinese food in town! The other place in town has their sweet and salty dishes swapped, but Hunan Wok is right on point every time!

Recently discovered and honestly may be the best Chinese food around. General Tao's is nice and spicy, pork friend rice has plenty of pork and is tasty, decent sized egg rolls, and I love their dumplings. read more

The better of the 2 options in town, Hunan Wok has some decent food. WonTon soup and egg rolls are good, as are fried WonTons, although I'm not sure what it is they are calling sweet and sour sauce that they come with. It is neither sweet nor sour. The General's chicken is equally bland, but the Chicken Chow Mein is some of the best I've had. Looking forward to trying more dishes. read more

Something has gone wrong, way wrong. After 4 yrs of decent/good food here, quality and flavor have plummeted, I'd time it to early 2016. My wife and I have given 3 separate chances and clearly, something has changed. Last night was the last straw, I ordered lo mein to play it safe, and boy was I wrong! Inedible. this morning I took it out for a 'forensic' analysis. It turned my stomach. Like I said, it USED to be good, but something has seriously changed. Back to the lo mein. I separated the noodles from the veggies and roast pork. I put it in a small pile. My first thought was the cook must've reached into the garbage/scrap bin in the kitchen, grabbed whatever he could, and tossed it in with my lo mein. Horrifying. We swore twice, we would never eat here agai, we caved in for a third chance (how can they get lo mein wrong, right?) and now, I beseech you, do not fall victim to this putrid garbage and the convenience of it. I'll drive the 9 miles to Szechuan Palace in H-town thank you very much. read more
