as a DC native I was absolutely shocked to find a carryout outside my hometown that has the same quality of Chinese food. Hunan Joy did not disappoint. Ordered my normal thing praying it would taste the same as other places and it impressed me more than expected

This is the first Chinese spot I've found in Baltimore county that makes the egg foo young like they do in the city. The Yat Gaw Mein isn't that Baltimore dirty Yat! but it's serviceable. My wife and I ordered from here twice in one week and we were not disappointed. This will be our go to for Chinese food in the county. The egg foo young gravy is really so fire. And they give you 3 egg pancakes so you will definitely be full afterward. I just wish the Yat Gaw Mein had a thicker sauce and the flavor profile comes up more. It's not nasty just not dirty Yat. The service is great, the young man I've encountered each time behind the counter is calm and friendly, he even brought my food out to my car as I waited. Give them a try if you're in Catonsville.

This spot has become my fave for Chinese food. I travel across town to eat here. Th woman at the counter is alwaysssss nice and pleasant. I even see him taking food out to cars sometimes. The food is really tasty. Eggs rolls too. I don't veer too far from shrimp fried rice and shrimp egg rolls . Just the right tinch of grease ...

Really good Chinese food! Take out only. Reasonable prices and fast. Two sizes large and small. I ordered large for everything. There is a small parking lot out in the front so you can park and pick up your food. They have all the traditional food. I liked the moo shoo vegetable, kung pao chicken, lo mein noodle with chicken (has bean sprout and celery), and the hot and sour soup I did not like general Tso tofu. I imagine it would be the same orange glaze for general tso's chicken. This is a personal preference as I don't like anything sweet. The glaze reminds me of the common Americanized orange chicken dish. So if that's what you're looking for the general tso's sauce is for you. I liked 4 out the 5 dishes that I ordered. I'm so glad I found this place. It's exactly what I'm looking for from a Chinese restaurant. I docked a star bc they didn't have common dishes like eggplant dish or bok choy/ong choy in garlic sauce and thick flat rice noodle stir fry. That being said what they had was pretty delicious. I'm definitely going to be a regular.

They seem really optimistic about how much we're willing to spend so we don't have to drive there.

Website says they do delivery, but clearly that's just so they can get your hopes up! Either this is a very amusing error, or it's scummy marketing. I'm leaning towards amusing error, somebody probably forgot to fill in a box somewhere. Edit: Turns out it was just an error after all! Just put in a delivery and looking forward to the results, thank you for the response!

Got carry out here for lunch. Just wanted to try a new place. Was pleased with the product and flavors. Very nice local place. Friendly and easy pickup. The triple delight with fried rice and egg rolls. Each hot and fresh. Totally enjoy a few more dishes from here.

The spice levels for the sichuan pepper-centric dishes were the star but never overpowering or too spicy. And surprisingly, the pricing for each of the dishes were so low compared to the experience I was getting. Like I kept thinking how can this product be this good but this cheap? My aunt had ordered for us so I wasn't sure what she had ordered but everything was delicious. I finally met the owner, although I did not get her name. Our waiter was good and the food came quick since we were all hungry. Since it was my aunt's birthday, the owner gave her a gift which was so nice! My aunt enjoyed the tea cups and will put it to good use. I really love the jasmine tea and probably had a whole pot to myself. It was a cold day so hot tea was nice to start before we ate. I have been to Tea Horse many times and the food does not disappoint. I like the bar area and noticed the liquor selection was high end. I normally don't drink when I eat Chinese food but in case you want top shelf liquor, they have it.

Came here for some Chinese food takeout for lunch…read more The restaurant is located in Route 40 West, the same shopping area as the H Mart. There is plenty of parking available in the area outside the store. The ambiance was cool, with folks coming in and out and there is also seating to enjoy your food onsite. If you've been ordering Chinese food as long as I have, you know the best time to purchase is during their "lunchtime" special for a great price on a smaller portion of your favorite item. It's usually accompanied by a basic fried rice, white rice, or noodles. I ordered the shrimp egg foo yung lunch special with fried rice; pork yak; and shrimp egg rolls. I like China Chef because they have an open kitchen just behind the counter and can see them preparing orders. We placed our order with a pleasant lady at the counter, paid in advance, and did some shopping at the local grocery store and came back to pick it up. We came back to pick up our order and it was waiting for us. We opened the bag to check that it was correct, grabbed assorted condiments (soy ,duck, and hot sauce packets) and cutlery and were on our way. The pork yat was good, not overly oily and drenched in soy sauce. There were fried yellow onions and a boiled egg included. The shrimp egg foo yung lunch special consisted of two patties made with egg, shrimp, and onions with fried rice and a small container of gravy. It was just ok, lacking a fair amount of shrimp. The gravy was light-skinned, lol, but ok as well. The egg rolls were a nice, hefty size deep fried and not greasy at all. It was a decent egg roll with shrimp scattered about, but not as good as I wanted it to be. All in all, a nice place to grab some traditional Chinese takeout.

One of the highlights is the handmade noodles, which you can customize in thickness, from delicate angel hair to something as hearty as fettuccine. The menu has plenty of variety beyond soups, including dumplings, spring rolls, stir-fried noodles, and oil-tossed noodle dishes. I also tried the braised intestines on the side; while they were well-prepared, the texture wasn't quite for me--I'd probably enjoy them more if they were fried. Ordering is convenient, whether you prefer doing it in person, through the app, or at the kiosk. The space has a good number of tables for dining in, and there's even a piano if you know how to play. Overall, it's been a consistently enjoyable spot for lunch.

Chung Wah has been around for a minute: I remember coming here when it was a full service restaurant. Although it is now a carry-out, there was a table and few chairs if you wanted to eat there. The ambiance was like a traditional Chinese carryout -out: fast and efficient in taking and preparing orders. When I got there, I was greeted by a pleasant young lady and told her my order number (which came via text). It was ready in the time they stated. The shrimp Yat was just ok, the noodles were cooked well with a hard boiled egg. It was coated in a soy sauce infused sauce with a slightly sweet taste. The shrimp fried rice had SEVEN shrimp () along with peas and carrots, which I didn't know was in it because I detest those in my Chinese food and I just took them out (my bad...I should have asked). The shrimp egg rolls were good, but small and not greasy. Sorry I forgot to take pics of the food... All in all, the food was much better when it was a full service restaurant.
