    Mumbo Sauce

Overall: I'd order here again. The mumbo sauce is excellent! I'm not from DC but I imagine this is what good mumbo should taste like: - sweet but not too sweet - tart without being acidic - spicy without burning your mouth - pleasant after taste that lingers - my guess for the ingredients is ketchup, Louisiana hot sauce, and apple cider vinegar Everything else was good but not great - fried rice had even portions of pork, onions, and Brussel sprouts - chicken wings were fried well - pork egg roll was a bit dry Worst part - cheesesteak egg roll was all cabbage

I've been anxiously awaiting the grand opening for this restaurant ever since I noticed the coming soon sign in the window. There are several Chinese carry-outs in the immediate vicinity, but fresh and new is always exciting. One evening after work, I decided to place an order to give China Dragon a try and was pleasantly surprised. The inside of the restaurant is new and clean. It is spacious and has plenty of chairs for customers to sit while they wait for their order. There is actually enough space for a few small tables, but I am sure they would rather folks not dine in, due to the ongoing pandemic. I placed my order through GrubHub and within 15 minutes, my order was ready for pickup. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken, all white meat, which came with a vegetable spring roll. I also ordered some crab rangoons. The fried rice served with the chicken was very tasty. They use tons of onions and sprouts which added to the taste. The chicken was also great. The skin was crispy and the sauce was flavorful. The spring roll was nice and crispy and not greasy. The crab rangoons on the other hand were just ok. They were flat and lacked sweetness. But I appreciated that they also were not served greasy. My husband has been back to the restaurant twice since my first trip and he cannot stop raving about the beef yat gaw mein. While this restaurant is a tad bit pricey than the others in the neighborhood, the quality of their food is worth it. I think we may have a new favorite Chinese carry out!

My second order , chicken and broccoli w/white rice.

This is my second time ordering from here, and both times I ordered the chicken and broccoli platter and ever extra instructions, I included was always honored. I am from Jersey and living out here it has been hard to find good and consistent Chinese food, but this place is really close, and that it hard to say!! And both my deliveries through Door Dash was never a disappointment. I would recommend this place for sure. Oh I also had the egg drop soup, chicken wing (1st order) spring roll and will be trying the pork roll.

Vegetable Lo Mein w/Spring Rolls (2)

My favorite and only Chinese food spot isn't open. I searched so many spots for reviews and ended up here. Service: The wait was unbearable. The cashier couldn't hear any customer. Food: Ordered vegetable lo-mein and spring rolls. Lo mein was good besides the many mushrooms. Spring rolls were a bit too mushy for me. Parking: Ample amount of parking. I'll return for another review.

    Beef chow mein fun

I found a raw pice of meat in my food, the cashier kept trying to correct me on what I wanted. The rest of the food is fine it's just this beef chow mein fun they got wrong.

This place is 5 minutes from my house. This is my second visit here, both times were really good. The shrimp fried rice tasted clean; like the cook loves to cook. This place is always busy and I love being able to peek into the kitchen as my food is being prepared. The customer service is indirect yet professional - nothing to write home about. I hate to say it but that's typical customer service for a round-the-way Chinese joint. Hey, "it is what it is." I'll definitely return for other dishes, they have an extensive menu and as stated before the foods is pretty good.

Small order of shrimp and broccoli and shrimp fried rice

I've lived in the neighborhood for over a year and have been trying to find a solid Chinese take out spot. Decided to go here on the recommendation of another review on Yelp. The food is beyond delicious!!! Walked in and ordered Shrimp and broccoli and a small fried rice. Food was ready in 10 minutes as promised. I was a little skeptical at first because the fried rice looked very light in color than what I am use to. What the rice was lacking in color was trumped by the flavors. Good proportion of shrimp and veggies to rice. Every bite literally had shrimp in it. The food wasn't greasy or salty...absolutely perfect!!! I didn't feel that they are any more expensive than anywhere else in the area. Absolutely will return.

Shrimp Fried Rice (I ordered extra raw onions on mine) Excellent!

Upon coming into Di Pasquale's I wasn't sure what to expect and my expectations were not high, but oh my gosh were they blown away. Quite literally everything I had was without note. I had the muffuletta, caponata and some Pignoli cookies and I truly cannot speak highly enough about each item. The sandwich was wonderful and well balanced, the Caponata was genuinely some of the best Caponata I've had in my entire life. As someone who makes Caponata on an almost weekly basis I was absolutely blown away at this one and would genuinely rank it top five I've ever had. The Pignoli cookies were good as well they were a bit harder than I like, but no real complaints. There's not much to speak to in terms of service here as it's an order at the counter and seat yourself kind of place but staff was friendly and then ambiance is again nothing too crazy but definitely a great lunch spot and so many fun items to purchase. Next time I'm in Baltimore, I will without a doubt be coming back here and would genuinely put this on a must hit list for anyone visiting the city.

Lao Sze Chuan is a new-ish (open since January 2025) Sichuan restaurant that took over the space Busboys and Poets used to occupy. It's a huge space, but they did a great job renovating it, and it feels light and bright and modern - very comfortable. It's huge though - so I hope people know it's there and are ordering takeout/delivery or stopping by a for a meal in person! The service was very friendly and very fast, so it's a great spot for an in-person meal, too! Their menu is as large as the restaurant space, so there's something for everyone! They definitely have a lot of Sichuan dishes, but if you're not up for Sichuan, they have some other dishes that might fit the bill: dim sum (plenty of dumplings and buns), lo mein, fried rice, Peking duck, basil eggplant, Mongolian beef, and more... On Saturday at the restaurant, my husband and I shared a pot of white tea and a few dishes: crystal shrimp dumplings; pork soup dumplings; spicy tofu skin strips (shredded tofu skin tossed with Sichuan-style chili oil, peppercorns, and spices for a bold, numbing and spicy flavor); spicy and sour fish fillets (tender fish fillets simmered in a flavorful broth with pickled mustard greens, garlic, and Sichuan spices); a side of white rice for the fish; and red bean paste pumpkin cakes for dessert. When we ordered delivery in February, we shared: vegetable steamed dumplings; Yu-Shiang Eggplant Roll (tender eggplant braised and rolled in a traditional Sichuan Yu-Shiang sauce, offering a perfect balance of sweet, sour, savory, and spicy notes); crispy salty chicken (bite-sized chicken pieces deep-fried and seasoned with basil); salt & pepper pork chops (crispy fried pork chops tossed with onions and jalapeño peppers for a bold and savory flavor); and a side of white rice). I've enjoyed everything we've eaten (although I wouldn't recommend the crispy dishes for delivery for obvious reasons - I can't resist salt & pepper pork chops sometimes even though I know it doesn't travel the best), and I love how broad the menu is. I can't wait to return to try more of their dishes!

The dumplings in spicy chili oil were very good. The shrimp fried rice was fine, nothing too special. The general tsaos chicken was good. The dry fried green beans were very good and the lemon shrimp was decent.

The Rockefeller oysters were the best I have had yet... the spinach and cheese stuffing was absolutely delicious. Good people watching--out the window to the folks outside below, but also into the kitchen just behind us. We observed a very well-run establishment. Several staff including the manager, who had a great sense of humor and kind-spiritedness, stopped by to check on us. We didnt end up ordering brunch since items on the other menus won us over very quixkly: the crab cake eggrolls (appetizer) and the crab grilled cheese (lunch). Being ambitious, we did ask the server to leave the menu behind, just in case. There was so much deliciousness to choose from But alas, we were satiated. To drink, we skipped the bottomless Mimosa and Bloody Mary and opted instead for a Blood Orange Margarita (which was more berry-like in color) and a Passion Fruit Mezcal Sour. Both were a tad sweet for our preference but very good otherwise. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.
