One Star - Repeatedly Lied To, Completely Disrespected…read more I came to pick up my order. I was told it would be ready in five minutes. 10 minutes passed. I asked again. "Five minutes." Another 10 minutes passed. Still waiting. Asked a third time. "Five minutes." I waited a total of 35 minutes while your staff told me the same lie over and over. This isn't a mistake. This is a pattern of disrespect. You clearly don't care enough to give customers an honest estimate. You don't care that we're standing there waiting. You'd rather lie repeatedly than be straight with us. If your kitchen can't produce food in a reasonable time, say so. Tell the truth. Give people a real estimate so they can decide if they want to wait. But don't insult our intelligence by telling us "five minutes" three times in a row while we watch the clock. This is unacceptable. The way your staff treated me--with indifference and dishonesty--shows you don't respect your customers. And that's a choice you're making. I will not be back. And I'll be telling everyone I know what happened here. Do better. Treat people with basic respect.

When I arrived, they were starting their lunch rush, which was not bad, but not the best I have had there. The ambiance was traditional, New York deli, just as good as the first time I went.

This New York-themed bagel chain is disappointing, even for a chain!…read more The decor is fairly interesting and not too tacky. The food, however takes you out of any New York feeling that the ambiance provides. The menu doesn't know if it wants to be locally-inspired or faithful to the original inspiration. Food includes NY deli staples with Phoenix flair, but falls flat at both. The service was lackluster. The teenager taking my order couldn't care less. Once my food was ordered, it was unclear if I needed to wait for my name to be called or if a server would deliver my meal to the table. Eventually a staff member saw me at my table empty-handed and asked about my order. My bagel came out in a to-go container and was cold as if sitting for a while before getting to the table. The most "true to New York" part of the experience was the bloated prices.

Once the gang all showed up, our server was attentive and super friendly the entire evening. She had a great personality and really elevated the entire experience. She was able to answer all of our questions about which rolls were which and brought the birthday girl a complimentary slice of cake at the end. We ordered a wide variety of rolls and each was really good. The pieces themselves were huge, which made the regular price worth it if you were to order them not during happy hour. I especially liked the eel and cucumber roll. The eel was nicely cooked and each piece was decently-sized. My one complaint was that some of the rolls took way too long to get to the table. The last roll we ordered more toward the end of the night was the dragon roll and I feel like that took at least 20-30 minutes to come out. It wasn't that busy in there throughout the two hours we were there. Overall, though, the size of the rolls and the freshness was certainly there. I'm not a sushi snob but I really enjoyed every roll, as did the rest of us. We ordered a thing of fried rice for the table and the steak pieces were very delicious, but the chicken could've been more tender. Definitely come here Tuesdays and/or Thursdays for their happy hour. Well worth it.
