Diverse menu, plenty of vegetarian and vegan items. Friendly service. Comfortable atmosphere. Excellent veggie gyoza. Also highly recommend steamed butterflies (dumplings). Thai ice tea was very refreshing (alas they were out of boba). Everything else we ordered was great too!

Is the retail store and " restaurant" separate ? Where do I go first? Once we got to the deli case, and got through being overwhelmed, we were able to order.. still be warned as a newbie, it is a daunting experience!!!Brides the yummy sandwiches ( honestly I was hoping for a more rustic bread than what was offered ) and salads there is an incredible selection of baked goods. My partner chose the classic brownie ( incredibly dark and rich) and I the double chocolate cupcake filled with mocha mouse( which I saved for home) the icing and mouse filling were amaaaazing but the cake itself seemed quite gritty, as though it was a " alternative," flour. In the end I was a tad disappointed in my $6.00 cupcake. All in all a decent experience and I'd probably go again, but $46 for Sammie's and dessert is a bit steep for my pocketbook.

The issues were glaring though. We arrived early for a group reservation of 10 and started at the bar. The service was very slow and we got the sense that the bartender was frustrated that we showed up early with the idea to have a cocktail before our reservation. Bar service continued to be painstakingly slow throughout the night. The restaurant was somehow out of several of their menu options (despite the restaurant not being busy on a weekend day). Not the end of the world, but it left us asking some questions. The major issues really arose when our entree courses were served. They had somehow ran out of french fries, and you could see that in the portion size of the frites in our steak frites (the picture included in our review was our plate -- we had BY FAR the most fries out of those at the table who ordered steak frites). And they ran out of steak - one of the people at our party who ordered steak frites was served a hamburger (which isn't even on the menu). Overall, I thought that we overpaid for the food and if it wasn't for the good company at our dinner - I would have been very frustrated.

We already have some excellent local Asian restaurants but we don't have too many places, serving upscale bistro and pub food in an attractive setting. As this was our first time here, our server, Joshua, Was especially helpful and attentive in beverage and menu selections. And he did a really nice job of trying that all of the dishes came out at the right time in the right order, which isn't done often enough. Joshua highly recommended the falafel and I join him in that recommendation. The switch to lentils is the base made an exceptionally light but tasty version of a wonderful favorite. The mug, fish and cabbage dish was delicious, though maybe a bit larger certain of lentils, maybe with a bit more spice, would've made this dish even better . The risotto with crab was delicious, but the crab was lost in the dish, so it probably would be better as a crabcake or as a amount of crab meat on top of the risotto. And normally addition to risotto are made at the very end anyway, so this makes sense to get the most out of the crab. We had several glasses of wine, with generous pours; the Sancerre was exceptionally good and paired well with everyone's dishes. There are some excellent local beers on top as well for those who want beer rather than wine. One of our group had some of the oysters and said that they were extremely fresh and delicious - they were local from Brunswick (Mere Point). The desserts and after dinner drinks looked good, but we were full enough that we'll wait until another visit to do that.

Every recipe for a sandwich or soup, or little side dish, salad is carefully and loving put together with perfect chops, perfect medley of flavors and textures to delight any taste buds. They have a few hot soups to choose from, and a few more cold in the fridge to take home with you for later. They offer a wide range of baked goods, popcorn and potato chips. Plus a nice cooler of more boujee drinks! I love going in to find what they have new in there! They sell POPPI!!! What makes this interesting is, the menu lineup changes WEEKLY. So they'll post what that week's menu will be on Facebook, with pictures! I love that. My favorite sandwich is their "Autumn Chicken Salad" (they sell it all year) I like to call it my fruit cake chicken salad! It's VERY unique. Sweet and savory at the same time, extremely addictive and satisfying. I CRAVE that.

Hurrah, delicious German food in the area! We were so excited when a friend recommended this spot…read moreto us for Schnitzel, spatzle, and everything in between. We made the reservation (highly recommended!) and took the 35 minute drive all the way to Brunswick to give them a try. SO SO happy we did! The space is cozy and lodge-like with German steins, maps, and decorations lining the walls. The staff is friendly and treats you like family right from the get-go. Our server was so wonderful and happy to answer any questions or make suggestions as needed, which included offering to bring a bottle of the Pinot Noir Rose instead of just 2 glasses. Oh, twist my arm! The bottle was a steal at $32 and the rose was light and fruity and delicious. We started our meal off with the snails over puff pastry. Let me just say... these were the most tender, plump snails I think I've ever had! The sauce was pure garlic butter, which was soooo good when soaked up by that perfectly crisp puff pastry. Flavor bomb! A bread basket was also brought out with pretzels (which my daughter said were exceptional) and fluffy little biscuits. Then the entrees - special of the day, Chicken Berliner Art, was a delight with the mushroom tarragon sauce and green onions. Lots of flavor just in the sauce! Hot potato salad was tasty and tangy, and the sauerkraut was SO GOOD - incredibly tender and loaded with flavor. There was not a cabbage morsel left by the end! The breading on my partner's Jagershnitzel was so light, so crispy, so perfect, as was the pork itself. Jager sauce had more of a lemon kick than I'm used to, but that was nice and added a good brightness to the dish. Spatzle was perfectly cooked but needed a hit of flavor, maybe a toss in some butter in herbs. Garlic mashed potatoes were creamy and garlic-y and to die for! My daughter tried the bread dumpling which was fun to eat - it reminded me of the ones my mom would make for chicken and dumplings, dense and spongy and yummy when dipped in some kind of sauce. We clearly had no room for dessert, but the brandy-filled chocolates that were brought with the check were a very nice touch and satisfied my sweet tooth. This is without a doubt the best German food in the area, authentic and comforting and so very tasty. We can't wait to come back!
