My wife and I have driven by Sloppy Buns so many times and have pointed it out to each other more…read morethan once, always saying we needed to stop in and try it. Tonight, my wife had a business meeting, and I ended up staying back, so I figured this was the perfect chance to finally give it a shot on my own. I can honestly say it did not disappoint. From the moment I walked up to order, the experience was great. The staff was warm, professional, welcoming, and patient, which immediately stood out to me. Since it was my first time there, they were kind enough to help guide me through the menu and make recommendations, which I always appreciate when trying a new place. You can tell when people genuinely care about customer service, and that was definitely the case here. I ended up ordering the Big Joe with tater tots, and I paired it with the spicy ketchup and the honey mustard BBQ. For dessert, I had the banana bread since I'm lactose intolerant. I actually didn't ask for the honey mustard BBQ at first, but it was highly recommended to me, so I decided to trust them and give it a try. I'm really glad I did, because it was incredible. I'm normally not a honey mustard person at all, so that surprised me in the best way possible. It had a great balance of flavor and ended up being one of my favorite parts of the meal. The Big Joe was absolutely delicious -- juicy, flavorful, satisfying, and just done right. It was one of those meals where you get so into it that you forget to stop and take pictures. In fact, it was so good that I completely forgot to take a picture of the banana bread dessert afterward. Everything just hit the spot. What I also really appreciated was that the burger didn't leave me feeling overly heavy, greasy, or gross afterward. It was filling without feeling like too much, which says a lot. I ended up sitting at the tables right outside and enjoyed the whole experience there instead of ordering through an app or taking it to go. I'm glad I did, because it made the visit feel even better. Sometimes sitting down and enjoying the food fresh in the moment just makes a difference, and that was definitely the case here. I told Arthur before leaving that I absolutely have to bring my wife next time, because she's probably going to be upset that I tried it without her. That alone should say how much I enjoyed it. Sloppy Buns has officially gone from being a place we always talked about trying to a place I'll happily go back to and recommend to others. Highly recommend checking out Sloppy Buns if you haven't already. Great food, great service, and a genuinely great first experience.

That's what I enjoyed (as the operative word) upon our first visit, several of their happy hour bites: Jazzy Wingetts, Jambalya spring rolls, the corn maque choux, and the catfish bites with remoulade sauce. I came for the spring rolls, and they delighted our dinner-ready appetites. It was indeed the most memorable components of a Jambalaya plate, inserted in a wrapper made crispy - which I think made all the difference. Each bite was a morsel of crunchy, greasy goodness. The cabbage chaser and dipping sauces on the plate made the rolls just right. Everything else tasted good for the happy hour, Dodgers broadcast vibes - shout out to the Stubborn root beer from the fountain! But it was mostly just good value for two people. I think I could learn to like the Voodoo wings but they ate a little salty. We appreciated that they were served with fries that we didn't pay extra for. We don't really do sports bars, but that does not mean we can't change our approach to our Clippers fandom. And MGT, being quite local, could be the worthy home that feeds us for not that much. We'll take the $50-ish bill all day.

I ordered their Chicken Crunch Wrap, which is their take on a Greek gyro but reimagined in a way that feels fresh and fun. Think traditional gyro flavors like seasoned chicken, creamy sauces, crisp veggies, but wrapped up in a perfectly toasted, golden, handheld format that gives you that satisfying crunch in every bite. The chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, not dry at all. The balance of textures is what really got me. The tender meat, cool and creamy elements, and that crisp outer layer that ties everything together. It's comforting but also feels elevated at the same time. What I loved most is that it didn't feel greasy or heavy. Sometimes wraps like this can feel overwhelming, but this was flavorful without being too much. Every bite had that herby, savory Greek profile, but with a modern street-food twist that makes it super craveable. And the baklava cheesecake! I'm not exaggerating when I say this might be one of the best cheesecakes I've had in a long time. It's such a genius concept that combines the rich, creamy texture of cheesecake with the sweet, nutty, honeyed layers of baklava. The cheesecake itself was smooth and decadent, not overly sweet, and the baklava elements added that perfect crunch and warmth from the spices and nuts. The service was beyond great, seriously feels like I stepped into a place where they treat everyone like family. Super hospitable and welcoming. There were some regulars there when I visited and they talk amongst themselves like if they're family as well. I loved the vibes here! Overall, Yasu Guys really impressed me. It feels like a spot that understands traditional flavors but isn't afraid to experiment and modernize them. The food is well-executed, and genuinely exciting. If you're into Greek food but want something a little different from the usual gyro plate, this is your place. Already planning my next visit! Thank you for having me.

From the moment you walk in, the place has a laid-back, no-nonsense vibe. It's not trying to be flashy or overdesigned--just clean, casual, and clearly focused on doing one thing really well: burgers. You can smell the beef hitting the griddle almost immediately, which is always a good sign. The burgers themselves are the real star. Thin, crispy-edged patties with that perfect smash sear, juicy in the middle, and packed with flavor. You can tell they're not skimping on quality--the beef tastes rich and well-seasoned, not bland or greasy. The balance is on point: soft toasted buns, melty cheese, fresh toppings, and sauces that actually complement the burger instead of overpowering it. Every bite feels intentional. What I really appreciate is how consistent everything feels. Whether you keep it classic or add extras, the burger holds together beautifully and doesn't turn into a messy disaster halfway through. It's indulgent without feeling sloppy, which is harder to pull off than people think. The sides deserve their own shoutout too. The fries are hot, crispy, and addictive--perfect on their own or dipped into whatever sauce you've got left over. You can tell they're made fresh and not just an afterthought. Portion sizes are solid, so you definitely leave full and satisfied. Service has been great every time I've been. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and patient, even when it gets busy. Orders come out fast, and everything feels well-organized without being rushed. It's the kind of place where you feel comfortable coming back regularly, whether you're grabbing a quick bite or actually sitting down to enjoy your meal. Overall, Smash N Bite hits that sweet spot between comfort food and quality execution. It's straightforward, flavorful, and clearly run by people who care about what they're serving. If you're in Sherman Oaks and craving a legit smash burger done right, this place is 100% worth checking out--and worth coming back to.
