    Hot Heaven

Stumbled across Corny Boyz on Instagram just yesterday . I'm located in downtown LA and I made the quick 20 minute drive to Victory Blvd (outside of traffic hours of course) and boy did they not disappoint. We were greeted by everyone there and gave us a quick walk through of the menu. I went with the Hot Heaven while my girlfriend went with the Hot Crunch. We were blown away by the taste and proportions of hot Cheetos to corn. Most place skimp out on the hot Cheetos , Corny Boyz stack in the ingredients. Nothing negative to say about this delicious snack. John from Corny Boyz approached us and was kind enough to offer a test taste of the cinnacorn. It was FIRE! I could not stop eating it , super delicious and addicting. HIGHLY recommend this spot. We will be returning sooner than later. Oh and we were giving two free shirt! Well worth it. Thanks Corny Boyz team!

So happy this awesome stand opened right by my house! I am a HUGE fan of street corn so this is street corn gone wild! They have several yummy corns to choose from and you can get them either on the cob or in a bowl. I got it in a bowl (and it was my first time ever having it this way) but it was awesome! On the cob is great too, but if you're not in the mood to get a little messy, the bowl is the way to go! My husband and I both loved our selections. I got the OG and my hubs got the hot heaven. Highly recommend both!

One word: AMAZING. Went for the grand opening and was greeted by fast service and a friendly team. They definitely know how to make bomb corn! They offer both corn on the cob and corn in a bowl, opted for the latter and was not disappointed!

OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!! I am addicted, This place is AMAZING!!!!! Service was excellent and quick. Very generous with the amount of corn & toppings. My new favorite street corn spot. Corn is FRESH and boiled right infront of you. They have various options for toppings to satisfy your cravings wether it's spicy or sweet. Definitely recommend trying out this spot if you like street corn. Check this spot out, i promise you will not regret it

Best of both worlds! I believe this one is called the twister.

I don't usually write reviews on yelp - I normally just use this app to help me decide where I want to eat. BUTTTT I have to give this place a shoutout because the food here is absolutely delicious. Heart the menu - especially the sweet options they have. And absolutely heart the boys that own the place. Hovik and Mike truly put love and perfection into every single order. I highly recommend everyone to give this place a try. Your taste buds will thank you. Your stomach will thank you. And your friends will thank you for introducing them to the deliciousness this place has to offer

I just picked up an order from Corny Boyz! They were generous enough to keep their business running during the fires. They brand their business to cater to customers during hazardous times. I highly recommend them for your corn needs.

So, the truck is owned by a guy named Herb hence the name ... Havana Herbs. isn't that amazing? LOL. He is super nice and will take time to explain stuff to you if you need some more information. The Cubana sandwich that i got was ... okay i guess. I wish it had cheese. You always get this picture of Cubana sandwiches with melty cheese and there was none in the one that I had. So I was a little bit disappointed. The meat was good, there were 2 kinds. not sure what exactly what the 2nd one was but there was ham for sure. I did like that my order automatically came with Mariquitas (fried plantain chips) That being said, I did not grow up eating Cubana sandwiches and don't know what the hell I'm talking about so If any of you people who grew up eating this can tell me otherwise, please do, i would be happy to get the education. The truck does not have the plates, only sandwiches. In my opinion, you might be better off driving or walking another mile to Versailles, down (up?) the road, you would have more choices and maybe a better experience. But anyway, don't let a stupid "yelper" like me prevent you from trying it out, this is just my opinion, you might have another one! Save the whales, promote world peace. Hug and love one another. We were already in the…read morearea looking for tacos and usually go to stands farther west around Northridge or Granada Hills, so we figured we'd try something different. We got six tacos between the asada and al pastor, plus a queso burrito with asada. Everything was really good. My fiancée noticed that they were making the tortillas by hand right there, which was a nice touch and definitely made a difference. I especially liked the al pastor, and the queso burrito was really good too and pretty filling. I also liked that they actually have a big menu with the prices clearly posted. Not every taco stand makes the pricing that easy to see. The tacos were $3.25 each and the queso burrito was $13.50. Our total was $36.22 after tax. I will say the tacos are a little pricier than what we're personally used to. At some of the taco stands we normally go to, we're used to paying around $2 to $3 per taco, so $3.25 stood out a little. That said, the food was good enough that I didn't feel disappointed with what we paid. The only other small thing was the salsa. They ask if you want everything on the tacos and put the salsa on for you, while we're more used to taco stands giving you salsa on the side at the end. I'm sure you can ask for some separately, but since we were taking everything home and didn't ask, I just used some salsa we already had. Not really a complaint, just something I'd remember next time. Overall, we really liked the food and would come back. Since we're still trying different taco stands around the area, we'll probably keep exploring too, but Angel's was a good first stop.

That was a bit disappointing because I ended up paying almost $40 for two quesadillas, which feels pretty expensive compared to other street food places in the area. The food was okay, but I wouldn't call it especially tasty or memorable On the positive side, the mango juice was really good, and I enjoyed the outdoor seating it had a nice atmosphere and was a pleasant place to relax. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but I don't think the food justified the price

I've been trying to try this one because I saw the hype on social media (maybe I was expecting them to live.up to that hype) Tacos - 2 stars: there was flavor in the asada and al pastor but the tortillas were small and kinda of hard. They may have left them on the grill too long. Im used to the nice soft delicious tortillas. Guacamole was ok Prices - 2 stars: spent $41 for 8 tacos and 2 senorials. They are over priced and portions are very small. I could have gotten more for my buck somewhere else for example: tacos el venado on sepulveda. They are really good. Angels tacos on sherman way (they have home made tortillas and their tacos are twice as big Over all, disappointing. Would I come back again? Not even if I was starving. I made it a combo and also ordered the hot lemon pepper wings. Wasn't mad about my food. It kept my tastebuds occupied for the England v France bronze game. The portions, for what I paid...I'll accept. The cheesesteak landscape in LA is still a small neighborhood. You got the mall chain, the imported-from-Philly chain (my fave), and the indie complex, where Jawny's and a handful of other developing entities reside. LA loves a good hot, chopped sandwich and businesses will continue to showcase their take on the east coast institution. Even fast service megas, like Jack in the Crack and Arby's, are making sure they can ride the cheesesteak wave. Did Jawny's keep up with my favorite? Not so much. Not with the classic. I'm not even sure what was so proprietary about the house made Wiz. And the overall value made the original steak feel like more of a hyped, boutique version of the cheesteak. It just wasn't substance-forward. But this restaurant will technically be more accessible than the carwash pop-up was, and that counts in my hemisphere. To be honest, I see myself ordering their wings more often, as a closer alternative to Wingstop. Ultimately, Jawny's is middle of the road for me. Seems it'll be passible food that I can stand to pay for some of the time. But congratulations on a place to call your own, y'all! That much, for sure, deserves a salute.

I saw that Jin N. checked in there on Saturday and dropped him a quick note asking how it was. He replied back with his recommendation that it was worth going to so we made the trip down. The event was scheduled to start at 11:30 and we found street parking a block away about 5 minutes after that. I was completely fearing the worst with the crowds and as we walked into the lot, there was maybe 30-40 other people there. Even when we left at 12:45 would have to say the worst line was 10 deep at the most and the majority of the trucks had lines that were 2 or 3 people deep. The trucks were set up in a "U" around the parking lot with lots of room and tables. There were a few trucks there that I had never seen before and really liked that we were able to talk with the owners. They loved the fact that my daughter was taking an interest in food and asked what we liked, didn't like and what we looked for when going to a truck. It felt like they were honestly looking for feedback instead of just having to throw something out the window to keep the lines mooving (get it, like a cattle call??) The crew from Wholly Rollers did a great job circulating to see that everyone was having a great experience which they should get kudos for! My only regret is that I didn't head down on Friday and Saturday nights as well!!! The next time they have an event, I'll be there as this is how a food truck festival should be set up and run!

[November 12th event]…read more First off, I just want to say that this was a really great experience. Props to Wholly Rollers Events for putting on a successful street food fest!! I missed the first event last month mainly by choice because I didn't eat so well the previous week so I figured it would be a bad idea to end it with more less than healthy food. My wife and I made it out to this one intending to limit ourselves to mostly small bites. We rolled up at about 7pm Friday and easily found valet parking right next door for $2. Even before we stepped into the parking lot, we could sense it was just the right atmosphere for gourmet food truck fans. Trucks were lined up on either side and at the end of the space with plenty of tables and chairs in the middle. DJ Kino was spinning good tunes. We noticed all walks of life there...from young, hip 20-somethings to families with young kids. Security guards kept things in order and the clean-up crew was very attentive making sure trash cans did not overflow and tables were wiped down. Now, onto the food... Shrimp Pimp: 2 drunken shrimp tacos -- sherry ginger marinated shrimp sauteed and served with, I believe, pickled jicama and carrots on 2 tortillas. Verdict: 2.5 stars (out of 5). They were just okay. Didn't really taste a lot of marinade in the shrimp. Thought the tortillas could've been quick-grilled for a little more flavor. I have to say I was expecting this truck would have at least 1 Hawaiian-style garlic shrimp over steamed rice dish. I think that would round out the menu a bit. The Guinness-marinated shrimp & chips looked really tasty though. Patty Wagon: 2 "Shine On Harvest Moon" sliders -- a ground beef burger with Havarti cheese, warm bacon/cabbage/leek slaw, slice of pink lady apple, bit of mayo with homemade pickle on a toasted roll. Verdict: 5 stars. Delicious! Great grubbing food. I had mine w/out the apple since I'm allergic to raw apples. I could taste pretty much every ingredient. The grass-fed ground beef reminded me of beef I had on a trip to Ireland where they have some of the best in the world. It was perfectly-cooked and juicy. The roll had just the right crispy crust while still pillow-soft in the middle. Willoughby Road: Twice fried chicken w/grilled watermelon and side of creamy mac & cheese. Verdict: 3 stars. Chicken was greasier than I'm used to. The batter had a slightly sweet flavor w/a bit of a kick. The chicken meat itself was fairly juicy and not dry. I don't normally care for watermelon but grilling it enhances the flavor. I liked it. The mac & cheese was less than impressive. The consistency was pretty good but the flavor was lacking. I tasted more of the pasta itself than cheese. The Street Hawker (Singaporean): Fried rice w/shrimp, carrots, peas, onions, a bit of scrambled egg and topped with cilantro and red chili pepper. Verdict: 4 stars. Full of flavor! I couldn't totally place the seasoning. There was definitely soy sauce but I couldn't tell what else. It was slightly smokey. The color was a rich, dark brown. The rice was not quite sticky like most places which actually was just fine. I must mention we asked to make it not so spicy so I'm not sure how spicy it normally is. Good portion for $8. We wanted to eat it all but we saved half for tomorrow. Ahn-Joo (Korean): 3 small, grilled skewers of ginger & soy marinated beef w/cherry tomatoes. Verdict: 4 stars. Great flavor! The tomatoes complemented the beef perfectly. A few of the beef pieces were a tiny bit chewy--seemed to have a bit more fat. Other than that, great snack! Mango Tango: Peach Italian ice. Verdict: 5 stars. Texture was just right. Actual peach chunks. If it wasn't too chilly I would've eaten it up within 10 minutes. Generous portion for a small size ($4). My wife also had a grilled Nutella bhang w/berries from Ahn-Joo which I did not taste. It's basically a grilled Nutella sandwich w/fresh berries sprinkled with powdered sugar. Looked tasty! Again, I felt like the event was put together pretty well. Everyone seemed satisfied (except for one older lady in front of us at the Shrimp Pimp who had apparently asked for something not spicy but it was still too spicy for her. She later apologized for complaining and the truck manager made sure she was satisfied). I forgot to mention the large projected designs (one for Wholly Rollers, the other snowflakes) on the side of a tall office building next door. Classy! Plenty of seating for everyone. The DJ didn't play dancy, pop music all night. He actually threw in some good mainstream rock songs too which was a nice change. Great job Wholly Rollers!! Looking forward to the next one. This should be a WEEKLY thing like The Brig in Venice!!

The gentleman told me they were taking the leftovers to their next event. That response surprised me, especially since I was standing with the person who had paid for the catering service. Later, when I returned, they changed their mind and gave me the remaining tray along with a bag for the coffee vendor. While I appreciated the gesture, the initial response left a negative impression. The churros themselves were excellent, but based on my overall experience with the service, I personally would not hire them for an event.
