Came here after a hike since it had such good reviews and I wasn't disappointed! The restaurant has a beautiful view of the Hudson but the passing cargo trains kinda ruins that ambiance. We got lucky and didn't have to wait more than 5 min for a table but the waitress told us weekends get pretty packed. All dishes are small so you order a bunch and can share. The guac was delicious & those chips are to die for! All the tacos looked and tasted good, but my favorite was surprisingly the cauliflower. Whatever seasoning they used on that was amazing. I just had the street corn (off the cob) and two Mushroom & Shishito Tacos, which have Portobello, and blistered shishito mushrooms with queso fresco blend. Topped with onions and cilantro. I only regret that I didn't order a third soft tortilla taco. The corn has just enough sweetness and firmness to pop in your mouth along with all of the toppings...pure magic. And the Tacos...let me tell you about the tacos. They were so flavorful, moist, with a bit of a bite (not soggy), and so much flavor. Oh man, this was all so delicious. Hudson Taco hits the spot every time I come! I will say you need to know what to expect when coming. So they do have regular items but they are known obviously for there tacos (hence the name). The tacos don't seem to be expensive when you look at the price on the menu but they are like tapas so they are small. So aka they are in reality quite pricey (like 3.50-5.50 per taco) Like I could easily eat 4 or 5 and that's says a lot. The tacos are super good though (so good in fact I always forget to snap a pic before eating them!). A favorite it's the General Tso's taco and the Korean short rib. I was throughly impressed by there salad. It was actually huge and so good, oh and it was reasonably priced. The empanadas were straight fire! The only thing I haven't like was their guacamole. It severely lacked salt and flavor (don't get it!). But there ceviche was good so definitely stick get that if you are looking for a chip and dip. As far as there cocktails everything is amazing. The bartenders know what they are doing and will create custom drinks for you. They always feature 2 frozen drinks that change out but they are not made to order (think big slushee machine). I love there Jalapeño margarita, that's a favorite. They also make a cool kombucha drink if you like kombucha and some great mules. Also, the ambience is so nice. They play great music and it's on the water. When it's hot the windows go all the way up like garage style. Definitely a spot I always take visitors. read more

My friend and I had a yummy lunch today at Hudson Taco. Parking is usually a nightmare for this place since it's all parallel street parking (unless you want to park in a far lot and walk it). In addition, it's always so packed, especially during peak times (weekends or any day at night). So if you want to avoid this, I recommend going once they open. The restaurant's rustic yet modern decor gives it a very chic look. The restaurant is spacious; there's lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Plus, the views of the Hudson River are beautiful and are nice to take in as you enjoy your meal. Ambience rate 9/10. They have you place your order on a paper and you write out how many and which taco you specifically want. Although they say to write it on one paper, if you're with other people and want to make customizations to your own, you can write your own separate paper (that's what I did, and they were fine with it). The tacos we ordered were... 1. The Gringo: This is my favorite taco by far because of how flavorful and juicy it was. 10/10. 2. HV Pork Belly: The pork belly combined with the sauce they use was amazing. 10/10. 3. Asian Tuna: This tasted alright, nothing special considering I've tasted better/fresher tuna. 7/10. 4. Baja Fish: The cod and the creamy mayo paired well together. 9/10. 5. General Tso's Chicken: This tasted like your average GTC dish at your local chinese place. 6/10. 6. Korean BBQ Shortrib: The flavor tasted good, but the meat was a little chewy. Rate 7/10. 7. Filet Mignon: This was alright, I've had better filet mignon. 6/10. Overall, a majority of the tacos are flavorful and delicious, and I like how they give you the option to swap for a lettuce wrap if you're carb conscious/gluten allergic. Food rate: 8/10. The prices are fair considering the portion, taste, and how filling the tacos were. The staff is very nice and helpful. They explain to you which taco is which once they bring it out. My only recommendation is to bring the tacos out all at once, rather than one by one since everyone can eat together without having to wait for their taco to come, while yours gets cold. Service Rate: 8/10. Overall, Hudson Taco is a must try when visiting Newburgh. The views, vibes, and food will leave you with a having good time. read more

Despite the fact that we were seated at a table that didn't afford a glimpse out the entire back wall of windows overlooking the majestic Hudson River, I ended up being pretty happy where they sat us. Why? 1. I had a perfect view of the bar and witnessed their hyper and hygienic way of getting straws: with chopsticks! Every single waiter carefully plucked up straws this way, no worries for germy manus to contaminate something that you're about to put in your mouth. Also, the straws are paper so that means for happier sea life. 2. I ordered a mezcal cocktail with CBD (I might have been thoroughly thrilled to be seated in a dark hallway by the time I finished). And I know I didn't mention the food yet. But anyone who wants to eat here knows that sitting in the window room is the only place you want to be! You, too, will be crushed to be seated in front of the wall blocking your view. We ordered a large order of guac and it's excellent. The chips are not greasy triangles, rather, entire baked corn tortillas. Just like they do it in Oaxaca, Mexico, by the way. I appreciate that they carefully note on their website what items are vegetarian, vegan and GF. While there's not a lot for vegans sadly, the cauliflower tacos are outstanding. I ordered two of the mushroom/shishito and one of cauliflower and had slight regrets, I can't lie. The portobello strips are marinated and pretty OK but there's nothing terribly interesting going on otherwise. When you take the cheese out, it's pretty bland and basic (order a side of guac to take care of that). But the cauliflower tacos are so good, I'll never order another mushroom taco again here. In addition to curried cauliflower, there's dates, pine nuts and olives taking these tacos to a whole other level of deliciousness. I love the cocktail list. So many creative and enticing options, that we were compelled to stay and order a second round. My second drink was the slow down señora which features a prickly pear and orange blossom gin, pomegranate and ginger. It's a pretty drink and just sweet enough. That said, if you like mezcal, the Smoke This Margarita is going to be your jam. That chili salted rim is a sight for sore eyes (see my pic). Service is excellent and attentive despite it being busy (you place a card up when you need anything, however our waiter did regular check-ins with us). Located by the Hudson River waterfront this restaurant has amazing views of Beacon as well as amazing vibes! Love coming to this restaurant whenever I am able, especially during the summertime. The staff is quick, attentive and very friendly and are always very well staffed. The times I've been in I always spot the owner, which I love to see especially in a busy successful place, to me it shows they really care. They also sell some merch at the front of the house, and a little tip is that they have small bowls filled with matchbooks you can take home with you! They're always pretty busy for the most part it's rare when there's not many people. I will say however on the weekends it's just hustle and bustle, and although it's a pretty big space it can get crammed over by the entrance and bar area leaving little space to stand while you wait for table. And let it be known they DO NOT ACCEPT RESERVATIONS. Also because it gets so busy in the weekends sometimes wait times get long (1hr-1hr.5). But due to its location it's nice walk around a bit and take in the views! They have a fantastic bar, with amazing drinks, I'm personally a tequila girl and have loved all their margaritas. They also have a happy hour during the week! The food is just delicious as well. Of course given their name they're well known for having a variety of different tacos served family style. And a changing weekly taco that would be a special. They also have a weekly dessert and drink that changes which I think is fun cause you get to try something new every time you go. It was tasty, seasoned well, but I think I could have skipped it - it was kind of heavy. Churros for dessert were a "bomb" - in a good way. Delicious, very light. Service was amazing. Because of starvation i have zero food pictures (bummer i know) but i will say they had soooo many choices and we ordered a bunch of different tacos, had guac, some half chicken breast, plantains and everything was absolutely amazing!!!' The cool thing about this place is the chips come as whole corn tortillas and you break them in order to dip it in your guac or whatever. The tacos at Hudson Tacos are amazing. Granted they are small but a couple of them with sides a person will be full depending on how much said person eats. The sides were so delicious. The customer service was very good and prompt. From the time you walk into the restaurant you will get a warm greeting and when you are seated at your table the waiter/ waitress is standing there waiting to see what you would like to order and greet you with your water. I'm a person that drinks plenty of water and I drink alkaline water. However, when I go out to some restaurants their water does not taste good. But at Hudson Tacos, their water is so delicious. The drinks were pretty good as well, not watered down. The ambiance is great. If you get one of the tables near the window you can just look out at the water which is so calming.
