The old Hudson Grill was a great place! However, under new mgt. it is the most horrible restaurant around. Being bullied by waite staff is very unprofessional and disrespectful to other customers. The owner is extremely confrontational and evidently has little to none skills in restaurant management. The food is average with prices comparable to five star restaurants. I do hope they listen to honest, upfront customers. Not listen to little spy bartender who eavedrops and goes to report customer's conversations. My husband and I take turns to select a restaurant we have never been to in our area each month. For April I chose Hudson Grill. I ordered Lasagna. When my Lasagna came, the outside edges were nice and hot, the center was lukewarm. I didn't send it back as I was trying to finish my salad and didn't realize it wasn't hot all the way through. My husband ordered the special of the day. It was the Sirloin Steak Sandwich. He ordered fries with it. The waitress brought the sandwich with salad. My husband reminded the waitress that he had ordered fries instead of salad. She took his plate back and brought back fries. The fries looked like they had been left over from the previous night, they were cold and hard! They were actually inedible! On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give this restaurant a 0 ! read more

just got my delivery from hudson grill. missing the chicken wings. wedge salad was very small, not like we get when we go there. food was warm. I called to let them know and they said they were out of wings. I asked why they didn't call me for a substitution. They said they couldn't because I ordered from Door dash. I said I drive for door dash and often asked to call the customer for a substitution. I have been a regular customer but will rethink returning. read more

Been here a couple times and it's been decent. Tonight we arrive and there's a crowd of about 8 people telling us how horrible the Hudson Grill is and they've been over charged...what ever we go in. Bartender greats us at a high top asks us our drink order. We said hey we'll take a domestic bucket with 2 Miller and 3 Coors lights. No problem, she brings it out and takes our dinner order. We're drinking a beer when the owner/manager walks by and asks us how we got the bucket with 2 different beers?? I said we've never had an issue ordering a mixed bucket and point to the sign. The bartender comes over and gets chewed out in front of us for the bucket. The owner then comes over tells me we can keep the bucket, but we have to pay full price on the beers because due to inventory issues buckets have to be one kind of beer. I hand her the bucket with 3 beers in it and tell her no thanks keep 'em. Eat dinner it's ...decent and then the check comes. Ask the bartender, hey there's a $15 bucket on here. She tells us the owner won't change the ticket. We ask to see her and tell the bartender this is the most uncomfortable dinner we've ever had there. Owner refuses to come out to the table but approves the change to $4 a beer for our two beers. WON'T BE BACK read more

Went for St Patrick's Day and the food as always was great. They do close early, so you need to get there early. I had the chicken parm again because it's so good. My husband had the white fish with homemade mashed potatoes and homemade mac and cheese,again because it was so good. We will change up next time and try something different. read more

We've eaten here twice. The first time we didn't even get to eat! We ordered drinks and dinner. The drinks were fine but it was really loud. Since we were in the bar area we chalked it up to the just being in the bar arra. We got another round of drinks and still no food. People that came in after us were seated and got their food. The bartender was attentive but the waitress, not so much so. After an hour or so we decided to leave. We asked the waitress for our bill. She said hang on your food is almost ready and walked away. We went to the bartender, asked to pay for our drinks, paid and started to leave. The waitress saw us and ran over and asked what we were doing, we told her leaving. We were going elsewhere. She said we didn't pay our bill, which we had. She then basically accused us of lying. The owner came over to find out what was going on as this was in full view of everyone. We made our Explanation, backed up by the bartender and left. We did go back several weeks later since the reviews were so good. We did not sit in the bar area. We ordered and got our food timely. The food was good. The place is really, REALLY loud. That hadn't changed from the first time. It was loud enough that we couldn't have a normal conversation. First time we've been there since it was the old Stormies 2. They've done a nice job of remodeling the place. Had to wait a couple of minutes before a waitress came over to seat us but no big deal. We weren't in a hurry. They've only been open a short while so I'm sure they're still working the kinks out. The food was pretty good. I had the fish and chips and was satisfied with the taste and amount of food. My wife had some kind of burger and it was very good. Of course I had to try it. The server, Katie, I believe, was very good. In chatting with her, we found out the owner/chef is from Naples, Italy. Hence a lot of Italian food on the menu. We have been coming there since the restaurant opened. The food is fantastic. You can tell it's all made fresh and with its own unique twist. This is an update from one year ago. My husband and I have eaten at Hudson Grill often. The food is usually good, the service is hit or miss. Tonight we had Olivia. She was so far off her game tonight, I was shocked. She litterlu screw up every single step. Our drinks were long time in coming. We ordered our meal, which included a salad. We didn't get our salad unti after our meal arrived. Our meal was incorrect and had to be returned. We are ordered an order of the bread, normally the bread is great, served warm, fresh and soft. Tonight the bread was cold and hard as a rock. AND we had to ask for the bread. So by the end of the meal we were so disappointed, we asked for the check. There was wine on the check that we didn't order or get. Truly that was it. We could not wait to get out of there. But, the food was good read more

Was there today after church either four other people who had never been there before. I ordered the ribeye sandwich and cup of Seafood chowder. Excellent chowder but the sandwich was tasty but difficult to keep together. The others had delicious liver and onions (would have liked a thicker gravy); delicious Mac and cheese; a tremendous chef salad that was so large he took some home. 2nd attempt at this place. 1st visit was a Thursday, arrived at 6pm, didn't see the food until 715pm, out waitress said it's normal to have over an hour wait on Thursday and Fridays. I ordered the sausage and peppers with mashed potatoes. When I finally did receive the meal, potatoes were ice cold and the sausage was very much undercooked. Quite disappointing, sent the food back and got the check to finally leave, however, I figured all places have a bad night so we decided to give them another try tonight (Tuesday). The same, arrived at 6pm, food was still not at the table at 710, so we asked for the food to be packaged to go once it was ready, 5 minutes later they bring the food out on plates, again we asked the food to be placed in to go boxes, which they did finally. Food was a waste of money in my opinion. They should be ashamed to put out such a poor product. I will not be back. Totally disappointed twice in a row. read more

My husband and I had dinner at this restaurant and we loved the meals of eggplant spaghetti and lasagna! We ordered the dinners that included salads and focaccia bread. Very fresh salads and the bread was still warm from the oven and extremely delicious! Move over Argentos on highway 19! You may have the desserts but they have nothing compared with the main dish! Neither does Carrabas! Hats off to the Italian chef at Hudson Grill! About time Hudson got on the bandwagon with a great restaurant! The atmosphere is nice and warm, and the waitresses are the same. Came in on a Sunday afternoon. We have been here before when it was something else and the look has improved greatly. Very cute atmosphere. Told we could sit anywhere when we first walked in. Immediately given menus and told what the specials and drinks were. Lots of heavy entrees for a laid back grill. We were looking for a few more shareables, handhelds, hoagies or mini pizzas on the menu. I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich and my husband ordered the Seafood Chowder soup and the Goodfella. The soup was good with nice little chunks of seafood and a creamy texture. I would suggest that they offer a bowl size as well. The FRIED chicken sandwich was lacking....everything. When i order fried chicken, i expect to have crispy, crunchy outside and juicy on the inside. What i got instead was super thin chicken cutlet with no flavor in the breading. And there was a little drop of the sauce that was supposed to come with it. Am I wrong to say that fried chicken and chicken cutlet are completely different??? I would never have ordered it if I knew that. My husbands sandwich was ok. With a little more vision, this could have been epic. It just needed to be more than it was. Lettuce? Onions?? Muffaletta? Hot and pressed? Our server must have been new. She seemed frazzled that a table of 6 had to split the check 3 ways and basically had to ask for all condiments, refills and napkins. First star for having Jai Lai on tap. Second star for 4 cheese arancini (called rice fritters on menu, 4 for $10) which were just the right size to get cheese in every bite. Third star for their shrimp limone. When I heard about it on a local Facebook review group, and being such a fan of the shrimp francese at Joey's in Southgate center NPR, I had to get this. Scouting out their menu and realizing they make hand cut, fresh pasta (not extruded) was a HUGE draw for us. This dish was perfectly on point and the side salad for which they allowed us to get their house made REAL caesar dressing on the side and cute little focaccia were definite bonuses. Himself is a lasagna afficionado and the fresh hand cut pasta really elevated this one to earn yet another star and he managed to eat all but the last bit of the generous portion bc it was so very good. We heard about their house made desserts but were too full or that would be an extra star. They earned their fifth star for efficient, cheerful service, piping hot food and their front of the house attention. Usually we go south from Holiday for our weekly dinners out but Hudson Grill can now join Second City Pizza + in our restaurant rotation as well worth the trip. Since this meal was so perfect, it will be hard for us to try anything else although the specials, on a board on front wall certainly sounded tempting and I forgot to photograph the wine list so that I could look them up for our next visit. Based on the quality of what we ate this time, I am also curious to try their soup of the day. Great house made soups are a culinary blessing. read more

Will never go there again and don't recommend it to others. I'd been there a few times because I liked the pork ribs. It's shabby inside, but I like the ribs. This time, I ordered soup and ribs. Took one taste of soup and it was awful. Fatty, greasy chicken pieces with rice clearly just thrown on top. When I asked to have it taken back, I was told that the owner/chef had said she didn't want us to come back again. Because I didn't like her greasy soup. I've never been spoken to so rudely. Never. The ribs, which were once good, were 50% fat this time. Oh and I was told (even though I never asked for the soup be removed from the bill) that "We will not be taking this off your bill." Aggressive, nasty, bad food. Doesn't get worse. May have been good at one time, but the owner (who refused to speak to me about any of this!!!!) is forgetting that customer service is key. She's got competition and needs to act like it. My dad had restaurants my whole life and he told me "consistency, customer is right and easier to fix the problem raised by a customer than lose many others. This restaurant needs to learn that. Food was awful, unbelievably rude manner by owner in dealing with this and I'll never be going there again. I'll also share my story with anyone who will listen. A happy customer tells one, an unhappy one tells 10. This owner and her staff (and greasy food) made a bad choice is being rude, especially to customers who've been there 5 or so times and were once supporters.. Hope they get it together, but I won't know first hand. Never going to go back and recommend others avoid it too. We deserve good service, good food and consistency for our hard earned money! I have been to the restaurant three times the food is unbelievable. I have to say I have not tasted this good food since my mother's cooking. I'm not mad, but the owners need to fix the staff. I went with friends and order salad and a meal. The salad came after the meal. I ordered one beer and had to find the waitress after the place was full and then emptied out. So, in 25 min I had to go to the bar to order my own beer. The second time a similar same thing. The third time I sat at the bar figuring to get better service. Received the wrong order and so were the other customers having the same problem. Everyone was complaining. Then when we finally received the salad, they forgot it was wrong. I love the food, the owners need to get their staff on track. You order something and the staff said no problem. Then when you did not get that item, they say oh we do not carry that after they said no problem. I'm saying this kindly your food is exceptional. Some of my friends will not come back because the staff. owners need to figure out what the staff is doing. Please to the owner reeducate your staff or you are going to lose business. Need improvement on the staff not your food it is amazing. You have a great business but poor organization with your staff. read more
