UPDATED REVIEW: The service department's tech talent pool and management needs to be addressed. In March 2021, my 10 year old Buick started to experience the problem of battery draining. The many service appointments never resolved the problem. At one point I was advised that the battery drain was from the car radio, which needed to be replaced... this was at a cost of $1000. Problem - unresolved. The car battery was replaced, the starter was replaced, the radio was replaced, the brake assembly was replaced. Problem - unresolved. Additionally, the service department entered the work into the CarFax system incorrectly, thereby adding over 10,100 miles onto my car's mileage. The Mount Kisco GM dealership told me that this CarFax mileage oddity caused my car to have no trade-in value because the car was now 'mileage cannot be determined'. Hudson GM let the mileage problem go unfixed for the many months of service visits. Once the problem was pointed out to me and then to Hudson GM, Hudson GM would not fix the CarFax mileage problem that they caused. At one point in the many service appointments to investigate the battery drainage problem.... I reported that the brakes lights do not extinguish (sometimes) when the foot is removed from the brake pedal. They replaced the brake assembly for over $700, which did not address the reported problem. I had the car towed to Hudson GM because they wanted to investigate it in its 'dead' state. Problem - unresolved. My car was not reliable. The battery draining problem was getting more frequent. I had used all my roadside visits from Onstar. I was forced to start looking for a replacement vehicle. My communications to Hudson GM service manager went unanswered. I found this to be the worst part of the ordeal. If any of us behaved like that in our own work, there would have been 'heck' to pay. Bottomline... In the future, I would not bring anything complicated to Hudson GM for service. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have purchased 2 used cars from Hudson GM. Each time, the process was good, efficient and solid. My salesmen were young and knew cars. Have been helping my daughter get a reliable used car. Yesterday, we did a test drive, & got the CARFAX report for a 2014 Nissan Versa S/SPLUS. Thanked the salesman & went home to do KBB research. Sent a very cordial email to the salesperson later that evening w/ notes & a copy of the KBB for the same vehicle asking why there was such a discrepancy for what KBB calls "typical listing price from a dealer." I copied my daughter on the email to model how a subsequent follow up is done. Sad to report that we woke up to what we both found to be a confrontational & condescending response from the same salesman: " ...If you you would like to arm wrestle over a couple dollars, I'm all ears. Anything more than that, then were looking at the wrong car. " Other content in his response said I used the wrong vehicle identification for KBB comparison. I took the data off the sheet HE GAVE US, & sent that as an attachment. So, I heard what he said & decided to move on after sending another email this morning to the owner of this business. Thought he should see what values were being represented by his salesperson. Approx two hours later the salesperson phones to tell me I incorrectly interpreted his words & he "didn't like my defensiveness" when I verbally told him I found his remarks offensive. Wonder what he'd say if someone spoke to his wife & daughter like this... Chalk this up to the typical stereotype of how a used car salesman operates? I brought my older cadillac to be serviced because the transmission was shifting oddly. I had an appointment for Saturday, but it wasn't until Weds that it was looked at. The code indicated TCC PC solenoid. The "transmission tech" put 2 quarts of transmission fluid and said that should solve the problem. If not, I would need a new transmission at the cost of $4935.34 plus tax. On my way home from the dealership, the light came on again. I took it to a transmission repair shop, and they replaced the TCC PC solenoid and it cost me $541.00. Did Hudson Cadillac not want to perform the work on my car or were they trying to get me to pay $5000 for a $500 fix??? If I am to be honest, my recent car buying experience of going dealership to dealership was not difficult. The Internet has made shopping and comparing vehicles very simple and if you know basically what you want, the decision comes down to relationships. That is why I'm the new owner of a GMC Sierra from Hudson GMC (and Cadillac and Buick too) I met late on a Saturday with Tim to discuss trucks. He was about the fourth person/dealership I met with and was far and away the most informed of the bunch (I ended up meeting 6 sales people at 5 dealerships, still the best I saw). He was pleasant, very knowledgeable about the truck and had a way to take my concerns for the truck (durability, quality, dependability) and explain why this truck fit all of those characteristics. He explained features in depth to my wife and I and made us feel at ease with this enormous purchase, even being as willing as to let me put down a deposit and walk out to look at another truck the next day. After meeting other people who were far pushier, or less knowledgeable, I'm glad I went with Tim and Hudson. I'm only editing this review because of the lousy service schedule on the weekends. The only damn time I can get my car in to be worked on and they're only open 8-12 on Saturday and closed Sunday. They do have an overnight drop box to leave the keys, but four hours on the weekend seems nearly pointless. read more

Everything was fixed on the car but the issue itself, the car was under a warranty up to 70,000 miles and at 73,000 the dealership decided to run a full diagnostics on the car and try to give me a quote at $6,000. My family and I have bought several cars from this location over the past 30+ years. My grandmother always spoke highly of the family owned dealership we citing that they even once had one of their own employees pick her up from a NYC airport. Class act. That must have been in the 90s because those days are gone. The service manager Dave is rude, short and lazy. They denied an issue I was reporting to them for almost a year. They only addressed the issue once corporate contacted them about excessive oil consumption in my GMC Terrain. A "repair" was provided at no cost. A year later GMC sent a letter admitting to the issue of excessive oil consumption and the dealership again stated they have already taken care of that for me. Now I am still having the same issue and they will not address it at all. They either don't stand behind their work or they don't have quality mechanics. Not sure if the business has new staff but it took me 3 visits before I was able to purchase a spare key for my car. 1st time I mentioned it, at check in. Upon check out I was told the person who does the keys was gone for the day. 2nd visit again at check in I mentioned I wanted to purchase a spare key, okay at check out no key. Again I mentioned it to him and he said they were gonna order the key and will call me in a week. No call was ever received 3months later I'm back again for my 3RD visit again I tell the gentleman I want to also purchase a key, okay he said. At time of check out guess what NO KEY. I said to him but I told you I wanted a copy of key when I Checked in and he replied that of I needed a key I had to stop by the parts window and order it there. Okay so he never told me this before and he didn't say it then either. I was talking to my friend and was telling her how disappointed I was with the service at this location and how I really need to find another GMC location because this would be now the 3rd time I'm asking to purchase a key. Don't know if he over heard me, but he came back with a key which I purchased. Not done yet. My car had the check engine light on i thought it was because I was riding around with the need oil change light on for a week. So when I changed the oil and light was still on i thought maybe I need to ride it around ( I don't know anything about cars)....After an hour, light is still on, I went to AutoZone they ran a code check and said it was a "Exhaust position system performance"... Today I call GMC to see of they know what that means and what can I do about it. They person who answered Ryan was not very helpful, didn't make any suggestions just said if I come on weekends they can't do any major work on car just oil changes and inspections, his tone was of someone who seemed annoyed by my call. I called another GMC service location located in Carmel N.Y and person who assisted me at the Carmel location was very informative..z she did explain that they do t do major work on weekends but I could bring in the car and they will run a diagnostic test and let me know what's wrong with the car and how much time they will need.to fix it and then they will work with me to set appointment for repairs. So I made an appointment with the CARMEL location and the Poughkeepsie location has lost a good customer. I prefer to drive a few miles further but get the service I desire and pay for 3strikes and your put Poughkeepsie GMC I won't be going to your location either when I'm ready to replace my car. read more

I Purchased a certified used silverado z71 from hcbg in November of 2017. I had a generally positive experience with this dealership. Although the vehicle had some issues before and shortly after i bought it They where all handled by hcbg no questions asked! I Dealt with Mike V as my salesman he was very friendly and easy to work with. Dealt mainly with Tanya and Ryan F in service who were excellent and really took care of me more than they where required to .Everyone in finance dept and the General manager where great.. Sadly the vehicle had major driveline issues (of course at no fault of this dealership) and i felt nessacary to trade it in. So i won't be able to deal with hcbg as my home dealer anymore. We have used gmc for our whole family's cars over 20+ years. My wife recently leased a new gmc and we didn't get any kind of deal. Other guys wanted us to go to them. They kept saying they'd give us a better deal like throwing the all weather mats for free or lowering our payments a little. We got nothing. I thought we would at least get a cover for the car booklet that has all the instructions in it but no not a thing. When I was looking at another car for myself our dealer said he'd be back and when I came back with the keys from the test drive he was at his desk with someone else and just said to call him later. I have two identical cars affected by the takata recall. One went to another GM dealer and the recall was handled in one trip and 10 minutes of waiting. For the second I thought it would be nice to go to Hudson as it was a lot closer to home. Big mistake. After waiting for 40 minutes, they told me that they needed to order the parts, frustrating. (The first dealer did this before we got there by requesting our vin number over the phone, nice.) When the parts arrived, I scheduled an "appointment" to have the work done. I arrived for the appointment at the designated time and waited, and waited. An hour-and-a-half after my appointment time my car still sat where I had parked it. When I requested my keys back they suddenly had a tech waiting? Maybe I should have complained sooner? I don't understand The point of appointments if the times are meaningless. What would I have been told if I showed up 1-1/2 hours late? Very poor service. I am sorry I didn't just drive the extra 20 minutes to the GM dealer who did the first recall so efficiently. I am sure there is some excuse, but that is all it is, an excuse. It will not give me my time back and it won't be accompanied by meaningful change. read more

My first and last time getting serviced at this dealer. Had an 8:00 appointment for oil change, tires rotated, plus had a clicking noise coming from front tire. They advised me that it was also time for transmission service.. Ok no problem. THREE hours later they finally finished my car which consisted if oil change and changing the lug nuts on my car, tranny didnt need to be done... Three hours for an oil change and lug nuts is just NOT acceptable. Plus there was a slew of people waiting just as long or longer than myself. They totally overbook, they could care less how long it takes them. I would not go here nor would I buy anything from these people. They have ZERO customer service skills. Plus the setup is super small, people waiting are bumping into each other, the service counter is right there so we get to hear all that noise as well. There's one lousy bathroom that not only the service people and customers use but the salespeople as well. Very poorly ran operation!! read more

Have had to come back many times to get basic recall work done completely and properly. I understand some parts may need to be ordered, but a pack of foam padding (to eliminate vibration of the subwoofer) should be cheap enough to stock. As for the rear defogger recall, the original recall disabled the feature during remote start. Since Jan, Cadillac has a solution that retains functionality of it, yet the 'old' version of the recall was done instead of the complete/proper task. When I asked about the recall and update specifically, I was told to bring the car in, and again sent away to order the part and come back again on another day to have it installed. This has been the story all along - very disappointing. The one positive has been Ryan, the service advisor - he has been rather good and is the reason I gave the score as high as I did, otherwise it would be even lower. I don't know about sales - I bought the car elsewhere. Just disappointed in the service department, overall. Funnier still - I created the above text when Cadillac sent me an email to review the visit, so I entered that text for the survey. We live in NYC and over the Christmas holidays thought - almost on a whim - that we'd car shop while we were upstate. I first took my 2013 XTS platinum here for warranty work as I had a leaking timing case.After getting my car back I started to experience some engine noise so took it to the dealer I brought it from where it was discovered upon engine tare down that a shop rag was left in my engine and it soaked up oil which caused the noise I was hearing. I contacted this Cadillac dealer as they are the ones that did the work on it and they picked up my vehicle towed it to there shop put it back together. I was informed by Ryan that there was no engine damage and all was ok. 2 days later my car broke down on the highway... broken engine rod. They sent a tow truck to pick it up again(2nd time) After this repair Dave from service ask to drive it around a few days which I was ok with. When I got my car back from the very 1st day it would not retain any settings such as seat position,radio station,HUD etc.I also had damage to my driver side fender and rear trunk area had about a 2 inch gash in it. Took it out that weekend and on the way home there was an awfully foul odor the entire ride home, once home when I turned off the car and it was dead. I could not unlock/lock doors lights were flickering just some really strange things were happening. The car would not start could or be jumped it was just dead. Lucky me I did not stop for gas at 2am. My car was towed again to their dealer (3rd time).I informed them about the damage to my vehicle and what was happening with it.They informed me that my battery was swollen and leaking. Looking back at that situation I wonder why my car was returned to me in the 1st place as it is my assumption that when Dave was driving it around it had to be doing the same thing(not retaining settings).They replaced the battery did a ok job on the front fender but a horrible job on the trunk area. When the car was returned it was not washed, compound all around the fender area and all over the trunk area, it literally looked as if someone just dumped baby power on the trunk and this is how my car was returned to me (I thought every car gets a courtesy wash no?)Also my passenger seat was all the way down and pushed back and I had black smear marks on my light colored leather interior and mysteriously my passenger side headrest would not lock in place anymore and the bottom center of my Navigation touch screen was non responsive. After washing the car that weekend and inspecting the areas that were repaired the trunk area has severe hazing I guess no one actually inspects the work done here in these instances. I am a work at home Global systems administrator so I do not drive the car very often or very far so about 2 weeks later I went to visit my daughter and my check engine light comes on. So you know what this means right??? another call to the dealer. They picked up the car again(4thTime)at this point I was extremely frustrated and explained all the things that had went on with the car the condition it was returned in and what was not working such as Nav screen, headrest and paint job they did on the trunk area.For the record I wash/wax all my cars I do not use a car wash it all gets done by hand so I know where ALL my imperfections are. Keep in mind through this whole ordeal I never once raised my voice was argumentative or verbally expressed my displeasure with emotion. They had my vehicle for almost 2 weeks for what I was told was just a loose hose none of the other issues were addressed. I cannot use my Navigation as the lower screen is not responsive where the space bar is. Had none of these issues prior to this. The icing on the cake is it seems someone ignored the front warning censors that let you know when your about to hit something as there is a small gash in my lower front fender that was not there previously but hey my check engine light is not on yet so I should be happy right?!?!? Also no courtesy wash :( So THEY leave a rag in MY engine which started this situation and this is how it was handled and despite all of the things that went wrong here if the issues that I reported here were addressed I would have never posted a thing. They did provide a loaner each time they had my vehicle and delivered it back but that just does not negate my experience. Only good thing that may come out of this is I may just trade it in and get that new CT6. I hope the owner see's this post. read more

When I bought the car, certified pre owned, the girl showing me how to operate options said my car did not come with the 30 day free trial for WiFi. Later I got an email telling me my free trial was ending. I asked one of the GMs about it who also said I had no free trial. When I asked the company, yes I sure did have it but by then it was over. So now I'll never know. I'm not paying for it to find out it sucks. Never mind the fact certain people there do not listen to you and talk over you. For example, all the windows had a permanent water drip staining. I mentioned it multiple times while working on purchasing and kept being blown off. When nothing I did made it come off I returned and had to wait over an hour to fix what should have been done before I bought the car. My first free oil change took THREE HOURS. 1 1/2 for the service and apparently another 1 1/2 hours to program a key when it was done wrong the first time. All these little things make me question competency for larger issues. I won't bother with the second free oil change and unless I am forced to deal with them due to a warranty I won't be back at all. read more

I had an 11:00 appointment for an oil change and overall 12K mile inspection. When I made the appointment, I told them I would wait for the car. After waiting 50 minutes, I saw that my car was still in the same spot. I walked in to ask when they were going to take my car and I was told there were 3 cars ahead of me. The gentleman at the service desk was rude and did not have the courtesy to tell me that my car was not being taken at the time the appointment was made. I told him to give me the keys and I left. He didn't even apologize for the wait. Terrible service!!!!
