Came here last night for dinner. We've been here before (a long long long time ago). Got a few drinks. Wine and beer. Nothing special there. I got the fish and chips with the chips (fries) extra crispy, and he got the pulled pork sandwich. They accidentally mixed up the fries and put extra crispy on his plate and the normal on mine. Then, they brought out an extra plate of extra crispy fries just in case. I was happy but ate too many damn fries lol. Erin was a great server! Super friendly and appeased us when we wanted to complain about a nearby table and their coughing guests. Will be back! I love this place. I have been coming here for years. Kathleen and Ashley always give fantastic service- they remember my drink and food orders and are always welcoming to my fiancé and I. When you get here, order yourself an OG or two...one of my fave cocktails in the SouthBay. They also have a pretty decent list of other wines, cocktails and spirits to keep everyone happy. Taco tuesdays are fun - crowded (so make a res) but what do you expect when they offer dollar tacos? I also come here for brunch on sundays - the breakfast burritos and avocado toast are great and during football season they have sunday ticket so you can watch your fave team. On the dinner menu, the ribs are always a hit, but i have also had the steak and the burger and loved those too. Got here around 5:50 on a Friday when hh ends at 6. Somehow the servers and bartenders were so quick we were able to get 2 rounds of drinks and French fries! We ended up eating the fish tacos, skirt steak and truffle fries and the brisket sandwich. Everything was decent but not mind blowing good. This place is definitely more than just a bar. Went here tonight for a friend's birthday dinner & had a great time! We had a reservation for 6 people and got seated as we trickled in. We had one of the picnic tables on the nice outdoor back patio. Everything is nicely spaced apart out there, they have nice lights set up, heater lamps, artificial turf - cute chill vibes. Our waitress was so sweet and patient with us (took forever for us to decide what to order). There are a couple TV screens on one end of the patio & they were showing the Dodger game, but you'd need to be at one of the tables right near the screens to really be able to watch it, if you were interested. I got the spicy pulled pork sandwich which comes on a pretzel croissant which is pretty innovative. The sandwich was amazing even though it didn't taste very spicy to me and was kinda messy to eat, I still loved it and would absolutely order it again. I also got the cocktail called The Royal Rat which features a nice smoky mezcal and was all around quite tasty. A couple friends got the Salty Dawgy cocktail which they really liked and was a pretty pink drink. A couple shared an order of the ribs and an order of fries, which was a good idea portion-wise because the ribs are one of the larger plates. The food just comes out of the kitchen as it's done so one person ate way before the rest of us. Everything trickled out. We didn't care, but some people do so I thought I'd mention so you know what to expect. They say they have a 90 minute limit on tables when it's busy but we never felt rushed and stayed probably 2 hours, because it started to empty out around the 90 minute mark anyway. My first visit to Hudson House was for happy hour years ago with work colleagues. Although their menu items have not changed in several years, solid items & I haven't tried everything yet so I'm ok with it. Happy hour pricing between $5-$7 for cocktails & food. (Food servings are tiny!) so tiny I didn't want to take a pic for fear my friends would gobble them up before I could even snap the pic. Don't be shy... order off the full menu if you're hungry!! I recommend the brown sugar ribs.. fall off the bone flavorful pork ribs a little bit of Chinese five spice flavor topped with micro cilantro for added flavor. Check out my pic of it!! The pretzel burger is for sure a winner. My friend couldn't even come up for air. I selected this spot because we were celebrating "Pastor & Principal Appreciation Month." The food is good. The service was friendly and efficient. The dining area is clean. The pretzel burger was well done but still juicy. The steak and eggs was good. The brioche french toast was not overly sweet and all the flavors worked well together. Our family absolutely loved the desserts! Our son ordered a 2nd chocolate chip skillet. Parking may be an issue but it wasn't for us. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and made our reservation on Open Table. It was the perfect spot for us to celebrate given our busy Sunday. read more

I've been coming here for brunch for a while during Covid since they have a nice outdoor seating area. Today, my brother and his gf are in town from SF, I like the place so much, I took them here for brunch. I found a short curly black hair (seriously look like pubic hair) in my omelette and I let the staff know. Before I was able to take a photo, the staff took my plate away and said he would let his management know. They should have sent the manager out to speak to me instead of taking my plate away to destroy evidence. The manager blamed me for the hair, he said it's breezy and I have a dog with me so it's my dog's hair. I have a golden retriever and he has long blonde hair so it's NOT his hair. I'm VERY DISAPPOINTED in their response and how we were treated. I didn't even ask for anything, I just need their acknowledgment that there's a gross pubic looking hair in my food. Hudson House, I'm on the fence about this place. We went here for a some appetizers and drinks. Beer selection not very good but they do have a nice selection of bourbon and whiskey. As of the food, we ordered the grit fritters, edamame, artichoke and Mac & goat cheese. The fritters were freaking amazing, nice flavor and a nice crunch. The edamame not a fan. To much balsamic and they have a sour taste. The artichoke was cooked perfectly but had no real flavor to it. The Mac n goat cheese was good but on menu it says there is a lot o' shrooms, however there was 2 found in my order and did not have a goat cheese flavor which I was looking forward to. And how do you only have 3 people working the floor on a Friday night? That is bad management. The poor staff was running around the entire time we were there. But now sitting outside was nice. We went to Hudson House for their highly recommended Taco Tuesday! They have a cute set up behind the restaurant with turf and benches (it is a dog-friendly place.) I got 3 chicken tacos and they were VERY small, but they were only $1. The tacos are like Mexican street tacos. After eating 3 tacos, I also ended up ordering one more chicken taco and a veggie taco. The chicken tacos were decent, but not enough to blow me away. I decided to go out of my comfort zone and try the veggie taco which is a type of Soy-Chorizo with potatoes. I also got the OG drink which had a bit of spice to it! Overall food was decent (nothing special) but the price and atmosphere were great! I think the only time I would really come back here is for Taco Tuesday. read more

We were pleasantly surprised. The front is painted with bright colors and just a front door. When you step inside it is tastefully decorated and there is a friendly patio with picnic tables. We haven't been back to HH in over a year. Thanks Covid. They are as good as they ever were. As always, greeted as soon as we walked in! Tried their Smoky Bourbon and discovered one of the most interesting bourbon drinks I've ever had. Jane had a Left My Wallet in El Segundo and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Thai Noodle salad was delicious with an appropriate level of spice. Fish an Chips was good. Our server, Kathleen, was outstanding! Glad we came back and looking forward to our next visit. This was our first time here, and I've got to say that I was pleasantly surprised. It's not anywhere near or on the water, but it doesn't fall short of that beach vibe, and they have very clean bathrooms! Justin, though young, is a very knowledgeable bartender. He was extremely helpful! We ordered the Serrano Cheddar Grit Fritters, and the Toasted Edamame & Shishito Peppers. I really liked the fritters! They have a little kick at the end because of the Serrano chiles. Justin shared with us that they are able to keep this Gastropub prices at a reasonable cost because they are the hosts, servers, bartenders, bar backs and bus people!! I've never been here before, so it was my first time and I was very pleasantly surprised and the decor was like surfer style in the 80s with the blues, the oranges and yellows and it's like my favorite colors. The food was very good and the drinks were off the charts. The waitress was just amazing. I think her name was Catherine. The tater tots are amazing as well. Hudson House has broken my heart. The were one of my favorite spots, and the have taken every single item that made me love them off the menu, and replaced them with nonsense. They're trying too hard to be hip and edgy and we tried four items, and nothing was better than "barely ok." Even the redecorating they've done was a bad idea! I'll check back and see if they come to their senses, but if they don't bring the good food back, I won't be back either. read more

I've been using Yelp regularly for a number of years now, and I'll admit; I haven't been throwing my two cents out there like I should be doing. I really enjoy and appreciate the reviews that the Yelp community posts, giving us insight and a heads-up on what we might expect. I'm delighted to say, that changes now, since Hudson House has inspired me to write my first review and share my thoughts will everyone Here's why they get 5 stars from me: After a year of take-out and delivery, Hudson House was the first place I've actually dined-in, in more than a year! (Not counting outdoor seating places, of course ). My date and I came to the restaurant on Saturday evening around 8pm, found parking with ease, and we were greeted & seated within a short moment of walking in. The service was nothing short of AMAZING! Seriously, they have a great group of people working there, who seem like they enjoy what they do, and know the menu well enough to give excellent recommendations. I have to say, the ribs are a MUST TRY! We also had the spicy chicken sandwich, pulled pork sandwich and a couple of ice-cold beers. Each dish we tried was unique, and had the familiarity you'd expect from things you've tried before, just better than you've probably had it. Some things you may find helpful: -We parked on the street (nearly in front of the restaurant), so I'm not sure if it might be a little more difficult to get parking during their busiest times? I think they have a parking lot nearby, I just didn't notice it. -The dine-in area is great, and had the perfect ambiance, being exactly what we were looking for that night. It felt very clean, modern, and overall had a very welcoming/inviting vibe to it. -The outdoor dining area was also great! They had gas heaters outside, and cool hanging lights! When we decided to go outside and enjoy a couple more drinks after dinner, we were very comfortable and enjoyed the change of scenery. The place wasn't too bad on my wallet either! Dinner & drinks were reasonably priced, at maybe $90-100-ish? (Keep in mind, this was for 2, and we both had more than enough food, more than a few drinks, and the service was outstanding!). When taking into consideration that everything we had was ridiculously delicious, and the environment was more than pleasant; it's easily better than reasonably priced. To top it off, they have a way to accept your payment ONLINE! (I love being able to pay for things using my phone, so this was a definite plus for me) In short, come and try this place, you'll be happy you did! (And try the ribs..) HH is our new favorite spot to get delicious food and amazing drinks ! The new outdoor patio is beautiful and felt very covid safe. They have heaters, sun and shade. Tables are spaced out and the staff sanitize all tables after each use. The food is just as tasty as it looks. We had the short ribs and the burger. Ribs were so tender the meat falls right off the bone. All the drinks were delicious but my favorite was the OG margarita and the slightly choppy. The servers were friendly and checked up on us frequently. Good service is huge for me so we will definitely be back. Want to try their taco Tuesday ! read more

Ok this place is a new favorite ! Obsessed with their cute Christmas decor , backyard local vibe and their taco Tuesday ! I tried all of their taco options on taco Tuesday , carnitas $1 , pollo $1 and vege $2 and honestly had a hard time choosing which one was my fave but I'd have to say the vege were outstanding , followed by the pollo.
