This a good place to get a quick breakfast..we are from Los Angeles and the first thing I noticed was a slight smell of cigarette inside...something we are not use to. I ordered the southern country sausage smothered biscuits. They were ok...I felt it needed a bit more eggs but it is what it is. The flavoring of the gravy was ok but the sausage patties were very good. My son ordered the pancake plate and the pancakes came out like 10-15 min after he finished. The waitress was very nice and kept us informed...again, if you need a last min breakfast,...ok place

Huddle House is alright. The food was okay, I would say their biscuits and gravy was the best thing there. They seemed to keep getting our food mixed up, but nothing that is that bad just inconvenient. I will say if you want a quick fast cheap breakfast then come here.

French Toast for wee Man
Re H.

I like me some breakfast and too few places in Thibodaux offer it. The Huddle House is known for its roadhouse fare. Breakfast all day, Burgers, chicken fried steak, etc. As we made our way up highway 1 to Thibodaux for a long day at the studio, I pulled into the parking lot and was happily surprised as I walked through the doors. The Huddle House has gone through a modern interior upgrade. They've taken out their counter out and that's okay, I thought the stationary stools were too far away for comfort. Today I ordered the ribeye, eggs, hash browns and toast. I'm not normally a steak for breakfast person, but last the I was here I ordered one as a tribute to my father and the memories of long ago breakfast times with him. I'll be truthful I wasn't expecting the tenderness of the thinly cut steak, but it was truly as pleasurable experience. So much so, that I find myself ordering one again today! What bit of magic is going on in that kitchen? I can hear the ladies laughing and making jokes, shouting kitchen speak "6 poppers!" It must be love because it's tastes sooooo good. Even the wee man is hypnotized by the Huddle House magic as he gobbles down most joyfully, a French Toast platter with a hot chocolate and then announced he would like an additional waffle. Oh my!!! Well sure!! I like this place and with its fancy new upgrade, all the better. Look for my girl, Troylaycia, she was sweet, efficient, and came around just at the right time.... If you're hungry for a simple breakfast, just like the kind me and my Father used to enjoy....then I'm certain you'll find everything you need at the Huddle House...

Stuffed Bacon, eggs, cheese & Sausage Hashbrowns topped w/gravy. The black pepper was my option. It was 'GUUUUD!'

Let me start by saying that I have NEVER left a bad review before, but I was genuinely shocked by…read morehow my 3-year-old and I were treated during our visit. The most concerning issue was that the waitress brought my child a cup of milk that was clearly spoiled. The milk had large curdled clumps, a watery separation, a thick and slimy texture, and a strong sour smell. I kindly asked her to take it back and did not even request a replacement. Her only response was being visibly annoyed and offended by me asking that. Bear in mind that this came after several other issues with this server. We waited about 10 minutes for silverware, during which time my child ate most of his meal with his hands and my food became cold. During all that time, she was waking past us bringing other people silverware and replenishing their drinks, and engaging in casual chat with customers. Three items we ordered were never brought out, and I had to ask for each one separately and repeatedly. When I asked about the French fries she never brought out, she gave me dismissive response that they were included in our meal, and then visually inspected our plates to confirm they were not there. She then brought out a plate of cold, dry fries and placed it on the table without saying a word. The entire experience felt surreal! If owners are reading this, we visited on Saturday, 1/10/26 and were seated in the booth area. I do want to note that the tall girl at the front desk was incredibly kind, and I truly appreciated her for how sweet she was. Our negative experience was solely related to the girl who served us.

Liz came by the table to say hi to my mother in law and to meet us all. I started my meal with a spicy Bloody Mary and then had the Seafood Scramble with Spicy Hollandaise and a side of Cheesy Grits. The scramble had a good amount of eggs and seafood and the sauce had a nice level of seasoning. I would've loved to have the biscuit that came but I saved it for my son since he can eat gluten. That biscuit looked soft and fluffy. I loved my egg dish. My son had a Cheeseburger with Sweet Potato Fries and my brother in law had the Grilled Cheese and Crab Sandwich. They both looked great and apparently were delicious. The Shrimp and Grits and Debris Eggs Benedict were awesome too. We will definitely be back on our next trip if not another day this week.

Liz's exterior appears a little downtrodden and parking a bit limited, but inside is welcoming with a bright and shiny Louisiana ambiance. We had excellent service and Liz herself dropped by and welcomed us. We ordered a variety of specialties, with me enjoying an egg scrambler with all the trimmings, my wife having a sumptuous roast beef po'boy and my son having a burger and fries. All were very good and our iced tea glasses were never allowed to be empty. We were seated immediately, but business is brisk and you may need to be prepared to wait at peak times. We look forward to returning!

It's Simple as the name suggests…read more Nothing fancy or elaborate about this place. It's a small restaurant with a small open kitchen and a small dining room where you stand in line to place your order, get a number to put on your table, and servers bring the food to your table when it's ready. So, if you're looking for a large upscale, elegant restaurant with elaborate food presentations, this is not the place for you. But if you're looking for a simple, quick and delicious meal, Simple Joe Café is for you. The menu consists of a wide variety of breakfast favorites, but the menu is not intimidating and easy to read and order from. Simple enough. When my family and I arrived, the small dining room was packed with a few open tables and about six other customers in line waiting to place their order. On Saturday and Sunday, you cannot sit at the open tables or hold the tables until you have placed your order and given a tent number. At that point, the servers will help you find a table to accommodate your party. The employees do a very good job of clearing and turning over the tables to make sure everyone is seated and able to enjoy their meal in a timely manner. I am not a fan of breakfast food and normally don't eat breakfast, so I only had coffee while my family enjoyed their meal, so the food quality part of this review is based on what they described as they were eating. They each ordered Joe's Number One Breakfast Combos which came with two eggs, choice of meat and pancakes and they shared an order of hashbrown and a side of grits. The food came out quickly. They stated everything was fresh, prepared and cooked as requested, the food tasted very good and enjoyed every bite. Of course, the coffee was hot, and fresh and the service was fast and friendly. The relaxed ambience and decor add to the unique character of the restaurant. Date of Visit: Saturday 05-16-26 Simple Joe Café | 3057 Government St, Baton Rouge, LA

This place is awesome…read more I ended up here the other day not because I planned ahead. Instead, I was trying to meet a friend for lunch and he was so late that we couldn't get in where were trying to go. I saw the sign and off we went to Simple Joe Cafe. Simple, it is. Awesome food, it also is. This place is not fancy nor is it meant to be. This is a solidly Americana type menu and ordering at the counter, serving your own coffee, and picking your own table kind of place. AKA - the kind of place I love. I have been here a few times now and only had breakfast. Hint: they serve it all day. The two meat omelet is a great choice and has been my go-to. The other day some friends got burgers and a club sandwich and those looked great too. This will definitely be in the rotation for lunch.
