The day I went it wasn't packed. The service was very fast and my waitress had a pleasant attitude.

Well, what I will say though is over the last year/ year and a quarter it's been pretty solid. I've had a few breakfasts here and a dinner here. Right now as of March 29th and 30th of 2024 I've had two breakfast here and they've been excellent and the service has been very good. I had a ribeye steak and eggs with hash browns and raisin toast and the following morning I came in and I had a couple of eggs sausage patties raisin toast again so it was tasty with the hash browns. The eggs were cooked the way that I like them over easy once sunny side up the other. The service was great the coffee was hot so reflecting my experience which is how I do my reviews I may go into a one-star restaurant give it five damn Stars LOL!! Because BECAUSE FOLKS I WILL TELL YOU RIGHT NOW MY REVIEWS REFLECT ON MY EXPERIENCE NOT WHAT THE REVIEWS OF OTHERS DICTATES. THAT BEING SAID IT HAS GONE THE OTHER WAY BEFORE TOO I'VE GONE INTO FIVE STAR THINGS AND I'VE WALKED OUT WITH A TWO-STAR EXPERIENCE! So in closing on this one keep up the good work nice to know it's still good and decent for a nice breakfast after delivering to John Deere before going down to John Deere or getting stuck for the whole weekend like I did.

The waitress was great, she did the best she could with what she had to work with, but WOW, what…read moreshe had to work with was AWFUL... The food at this place is VERY sub-par, I had the chicken finger meal with a drink....The meal cost a whopping $18.00 for chicken fingers that were quite possibly the worst ive ever tasted, and super hard along with Mac and cheese that was DREADFUL and over cooked pasta....Thank GOD this meal came with French fries and toast, because that was the ONLY 2 good things to eat...So, basically I paid almost 20 bucks for a drink, fried and toast... This was my first ever "Huddle House" experience, and short of the waitress being good and sweet, the food was terrible and it will be my LAST Huddle House experience... The ONLY reason im giving it 2 star is because the waitress did a good job!!

Liz came by the table to say hi to my mother in law and to meet us all. I started my meal with a spicy Bloody Mary and then had the Seafood Scramble with Spicy Hollandaise and a side of Cheesy Grits. The scramble had a good amount of eggs and seafood and the sauce had a nice level of seasoning. I would've loved to have the biscuit that came but I saved it for my son since he can eat gluten. That biscuit looked soft and fluffy. I loved my egg dish. My son had a Cheeseburger with Sweet Potato Fries and my brother in law had the Grilled Cheese and Crab Sandwich. They both looked great and apparently were delicious. The Shrimp and Grits and Debris Eggs Benedict were awesome too. We will definitely be back on our next trip if not another day this week.

Liz's exterior appears a little downtrodden and parking a bit limited, but inside is welcoming with a bright and shiny Louisiana ambiance. We had excellent service and Liz herself dropped by and welcomed us. We ordered a variety of specialties, with me enjoying an egg scrambler with all the trimmings, my wife having a sumptuous roast beef po'boy and my son having a burger and fries. All were very good and our iced tea glasses were never allowed to be empty. We were seated immediately, but business is brisk and you may need to be prepared to wait at peak times. We look forward to returning!

We had a wonderful breakfast at Simple Joe's Cafe in Baton Rouge!…read more I ordered the shrimp and grits, and it was absolutely delicious--creamy, well-seasoned grits topped with perfectly cooked shrimp and a flavorful sauce that tied everything together beautifully. My husband had an omelette with peppers and bacon, and he really enjoyed it. It was fluffy, generously filled, and cooked just right, with great smoky flavor from the bacon and a nice kick from the peppers. The service was friendly, the food came out quickly, and the whole experience felt warm and welcoming. Definitely a great local spot for a hearty, satisfying meal.

It's a small restaurant with a small open kitchen and a small dining room where you stand in line to place your order, get a number to put on your table, and servers bring the food to your table when it's ready. So, if you're looking for a large upscale, elegant restaurant with elaborate food presentations, this is not the place for you. But if you're looking for a simple, quick and delicious meal, Simple Joe Café is for you. The menu consists of a wide variety of breakfast favorites, but the menu is not intimidating and easy to read and order from. Simple enough. When my family and I arrived, the small dining room was packed with a few open tables and about six other customers in line waiting to place their order. On Saturday and Sunday, you cannot sit at the open tables or hold the tables until you have placed your order and given a tent number. At that point, the servers will help you find a table to accommodate your party. The employees do a very good job of clearing and turning over the tables to make sure everyone is seated and able to enjoy their meal in a timely manner. I am not a fan of breakfast food and normally don't eat breakfast, so I only had coffee while my family enjoyed their meal, so the food quality part of this review is based on what they described as they were eating. They each ordered Joe's Number One Breakfast Combos which came with two eggs, choice of meat and pancakes and they shared an order of hashbrown and a side of grits. The food came out quickly. They stated everything was fresh, prepared and cooked as requested, the food tasted very good and enjoyed every bite. Of course, the coffee was hot, and fresh and the service was fast and friendly. The relaxed ambience and decor add to the unique character of the restaurant. Date of Visit: Saturday 05-16-26 Simple Joe Café | 3057 Government St, Baton Rouge, LA
