    Dump

This place is a dump. No coffee. No soda. The booths are all ripped up and the floor is nasty. The wait staff is friendly but as ghetto as they come. They are out of everything and the excuse is the truck don't come to Monday.

$5 combo! 2 eggs (over hard here) with bacon and cheese and perfectly prepared tater tots - crunchy outside, tender inside.

I get it! Everyone is overwhelmed and overworked. I just don't see how it continues to be an excuse for bad service. I placed an order online about 10 minutes before we were to arrive at the Huddle House attached to the Flying J station. We had been driving for a bit and needed both petro and tummy fuel. I ordered the $5 combo which was pretty darn good. It included 2 eggs, bacon and cheese on a biscuit, tater tots and a drink. Hubby ordered a bigger platter that included eggs, bacon, sausage, grits & Texas toast. The food was hot, prepared as requested and the experience was as expected for this price point. I took a star away because the drink was not delivered with the meal and my hubby was not willing to make a 3rd trip inside. The other star is solely because of attitude and disorganization. We arrived at our appointed time. Hubby stood behind a single person in line for more than 4 minutes. When it was his turn he was told they hadn't even started the order and to come back in about 10 minutes. So instead of the 16 minutes we initially waited, now it is least 26 minutes. The woman handling all of this makes us feel as if we are an inconvenience, snapping that they are blown away. There are lots of ways this could have been handled better (and kinder) but it is what it is. So ultimately the food was good (hats off to the cooks) but the service was sad and the order wasn't complete. I would return if time was not of the essence but if I could find an alternative I would.

    1. The cooks didn't wear gloves, nor do they fucking wash there hands. You are suppose to was your hands and change glove per order. 2. There are flies swarming all over the fucking food. 3. My friend had bacon fall on her leg, and she got a fucking.

It sucked! Workers had dirty hands, the food was freezing, and the food took forever to come and it tasted horrible.

We hadn't eaten out for a while so we seen this place and thought it looked cute so we walked over from Pilot (across the street) and sat down to order our food. I had to repeat my order 4 times and the "waitress" still wasn't getting it. Simple order "ribeye and shrimp dinner" comes with 2 sides but don't order the onion rings because even though it's on the "sides menu" they charged me $2 extra for the small helping that I received. She looked and asked if we wanted to split the dinner and I said "no want 2 of the ribeye dinners with the 2 sides" she looked puzzled and said "ooohhhh so you want the shrimp basket and a ribeye? I repeated what I wanted 3 more times and each time she looked like a lost deer in the headlights. I showed her the picture on the menu (thank God for pictures because like a two year-old she would not have understood what I wanted without the pictures) the food had ZERO FLAVOUR...after we doused it with salt and pepper it was tolerable at best. The meal was $22 a plate but not worth half what they were charging. Now let's get to the second half of this review The Service As I stated earlier in this review, this girl was not quite all there, she brought me the bill 1/2 way through us eating the meal, said "you can take care of this anytime" but proceeded to come back multiple times like she was waiting for us to pay. When I was looking over the bill, I noticed the two dollar charge for the onion rings and when I asked her about it, she looked at me once again with those deer in the headlight look in her eyes shrugged her shoulders and said "I don't know maybe it was a specialty side" and I said no it was on the sides item list. She looked at me like she could care less so I asked her if there was somebody here that would know why they were charging two dollars extra for onion rings. She said no all the managers have gone home for the night so there was nobody there that could answer the question. We paid our bill and left very dissatisfied and now my stomach is kind of upset so I'll probably throw the leftovers away because now I'm not sure if it's going to be safe to eat. The quality of the food is nowhere near what it should be The ribeye steak is like that of which you would buy at Walmart in the box of 5 ribeyes out of the freezer for $15.88 The shrimp is the frozen box of SeaPak shrimp, again that you find at Walmart for $9.87 As my wife and I were walking out the door she overheard them talking crap about us wanting to speak to the manager like they want to keep the manager around all night long to make sure customers are taken care of. Mind you it was not even 5:00 pm yet. And the only reason that I wanted to speak with a manager was the question about the onion rings. Rude unprofessional uninformed staff, probably cracked out, meth heads that couldn't stop twitching for their next fix. The cook kept sliding his jaw like meth heads do when they are high. I almost forgot to mention that the ribeye steak tasted fishy so I'm not sure what that was all about.

The paint matches the tables and chairs, with two brown-colored, old-school restaurant booths located in a second room. A western movie plays on the television in the corner, and there are no carryout shelves, no WiFi, no frills. It's not what you come here for. But you will find lots of camo, long beards, and locals engaged in boisterous chatter with heavy southern accents. It's an authentic southern experience. The Saturday morning breakfast rush was just winding down at 8:45 when I walked in and took the only remaining seat. The other 45 spots were taken as the place was packed! It took 30 minutes to get my food, but I hoped it was worth the wait. The loaded hash browns contained a mixture of ham, peppers, onions, and one of my least favorite things - a melted square of despicable American cheese. The potatoes are closer to soggy than crisp which is a cardinal sin in the hash brown game. But the ham was really good. The sausage patties were obviously store bought and very unimpressive, and the biscuits were either picked up at the local grocer or simply underwhelming. The gravy was thick, but the wonderful texture was utterly flavorless. The entire meal was under $10 without the tip, so you get what you pay for. At least it's affordable.
