Cute country diner! We ate here for breakfast while camping at Shawnee Forest Campground. The diner was very busy but there was plenty of tables available. The waitresses were very friendly and great at their job. The menu was quite extensive. Our food came pretty quickly. My husband got the haystack and he enjoyed it and took half of it home because it was so large. I got one biscuit and gravy with scrambled eggs of top. Biscuits were fluffy and sausage gravy was so good and just the way I like it. My husband said the coffee was very good. I had unsweet iced tea and it was good as well. Don't forget to ask for a senior discount if you are a senior. The ticket was less than what we usually eat for at Cracker Barrel. We will definitely come back when camping here again! Convenient location on the edge of Vienna and near the Tunnel Hill Trail, Vienna Diner has ample parking and a bright entrance. Spacious interior, and I think one of the best features is the wide aisles between tables. Very comfortable for customers using a walker or wheelchair. Just a nice accommodation for diners. Wonderful service, even on a busy holiday. Struggling to keep up with a busy lunch rush, but they were holding it together quite well. Clean restrooms. Had the meatloaf special. Not fresh made meatloaf. This was more of a minced, spam-ish beef product with can gravy. Didn't taste like home, sadly. However, veggies were fine as were the fries. And for the price, overall a good value. This is a fine diner. I'd recommend sticking close to the short order classics. read more

Well i am sad to leave this review. Not that this a bad place, just the opposite. My wife and I have made the Vieanna Diner a must stop place to eat each year for the past 7 years as to drive South to Florida and again when we drive back north to Wisconsin in the spring. What is sad is that they were closed when we stopped on 12/29/24. I was really looking forward to a great burger and fries and my wife swears they make the best BLT in the world. Well there were 4 cars in the lot, all driving south, and we compared notes on the wonderful food and friendly service we had always gotten at the Vienna Diner. I hope the owner reads this and knows that there are alot of us Snowbirds that look forward to having a meal at their diner. Almost gave this place 2 stars because the servers were sweet and worked hard. But the food was just not good. Nothing tasted fresh or homemade. The whipped spread that was far from being butter and not even really margarine was terrible and ruined the baked potatoes that were otherwise okay. read more

Great quality diner food. The menu is extensive - quite a surprise. Even though it doesn't say so, breakfast is served all day. We enjoyed omelets for dinner. My Greek omelet was layered with gyro meat and fluffy feta cheese. My toast (served on the side) came buttered and was perfect!!! Run of the mill diner vibe. We had a Taco Salad, a Greek Salad, and chicken wings. The Greek Salad came with a hard boiled egg that had a greenish color to it and smelled weird. Couldn't bring myself to try it. The major problem with dishes was there was no flavor..just bland. The service was good though. The waitress was friendly and attentive. We stopped in here on a Sunday after a bike ride on the trail. The place was crowded and buzzing with activity. We were seated very quickly and our the service was good. The menu is huge, with something for everyone. I had the catfish sandwich and it was very good. The batter was crisp and the fish large and flaky. My wife had the patty melt and she said it was very good. Overall we were impressed with the quality of the food for such an out of the way place. read more

Wow. Just wow. driving through, stopped to get gas, saw the diner, it was packed. That's always a good sign. Went inside, got the daily special, which was meatloaf, it came with a ton of veg-all straight out of the can, and some other stuff. The meatloaf... Was it meat? It was so inedible. It looked like brown bread with gravy on it. . It was like sawdust. I have never had meatloaf so bad in my life. Maybe this is what they're used to in that area, but I wouldn't recommend it. Came off the freeway to eat. Good pull off! Bob tail no problem. We came In Right at 5 ish and lots of locals in here. One guy chatted us up. We definatly looked like we didn't belong haha. As we are traveling across the country, we stopped off interstate 24 East in search of a place to eat. We found this gem of a diner! I forgot to get pictures of the food, but I ordered the gyro omelette and my friends ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and the salad. Everything was absolutely delicious! Just wanted to comment on the vegan options since there was already a review on the stir fry veggies. Caveat...this is a small town business run by a family which I applaud and if you are vegetarian or omnivore; yay for you. But their vegan option is limited to salads with the oil based dressings. I am unsure about their batters for fried foods or if the fry oil has any additives. But the veggie stir fry is made with rice that has been prepared with chicken broth. Let me just start out with, the Italian Nachos were AWESOME! That's what kept this review from bein' worse. Maybe it was what we ordered? My husband stopped in yesterday and brought me home a patty melt sandwich. I was surprised it was still hot 15 minutes later. The beef patty was large, thick, and juicy prepared with marbled rye bread. I really enjoyed it. My husband ate in the restaurant and ordered soup and sandwich. If you are looking for good southern cooking, even just good cooking. Stop here and grab a bite. The breakfast is good. But dinner is better. The best dish is chicken Alfredo. I've been to many resturants all over Chicagoland and in many different states, but their Alfredo sauce is by far the best ive had anywhere and the fresh chicken it just melts in your mouth. The outside may not look like much, but the food is fabulous. The staff is great. They always pick up your dirty dishes and they are not always on topnof you. They have found a perfect balance. from the cooks to waitresses to the owners. Next time your in town or just passing through. Stop and try the chicken Alfredo. read more

Great food and service, really nice people that know what they are doing, had the Italian nachos which are my favorite, love this place.

Stopped here on my way home from Brantley Gilbert concert. Of course, I yelped to see where we should stop to eat and this was ok top of the list. Looks very homey from the outside. It's a seat yourself place, so we sat by the window. There are so many options on the menu. According to the server, the owners used to own a steak and pasta place. You would've thought that's what I ordered. Wrong. I ordered the turkey club. It comes with two sides, so I got creamy chicken n rice soup and fries (to be safe). Holy moly. The soup was amazing! I should've just ordered a big bowl of soup. It was amazing. Sandwich was really good as well. Burgers are huge and fresh. Great taste as well. Food is great and a great value as well.
