The pic doesn't reflect how busy it was, lots of large families/groups. This looks like an awesome place to enjoy outside. It's fairly dark inside, but decorated cute and restrooms were clean. Service was a pinch slower, but everyone was very polite! The fried chicken wrap was simple yet delicious, not very large so it was perfect to add the cheesy fries. There wasn't a whole lot of flavor with the fries, but overall the experience was great.

Such a great place to stop, have a few ones, some excellent food and listen to some good music. I would suggest stopping by to take some time from driving and see the beautiful sights in the area. It's a wonderful place! The service was on point during lunchtime and I never had an empty drink.

We really liked this place. Stopped for lunch on a weekday after going to Garden of the Gods. It's a nice place, the indoor dining room/bar is spacious, clean and well decorated. There is also a large outdoor dining patio with a stage so I assume there is entertainment on some weekends. I had pulled pork with corn nuggets and a cup of chili. Pulled pork was good, not fatty at all. Corn nuggets were cooked through but not over cooked (which must be hard to get right). Chili was a little bland. My wife had fish and chips and liked both. I'd definitely eat here again next time we are in the area.

Tucked away in the Shawnee National Forest, this quaint bar/restaurant serves up some great grub! We had the marinated pork tenderloin topped with pepper Jack cheese and onions --delish! Kudos to Eddy's for using a real pork tenderloin, not some manufactured, chopped mystery meat. The ambiance is cammo and deer horns, with a wooden patio/stage area for music and outdoor seating. Service was down home friendly and efficient. So if you are exploring the natural wonders of the area such as the Garden of the Gods, check out Shotgun Eddy's -- you'd have to go a long way to find a better fare!

My husband and I loved this place. Our waitress was friendly, our food was hot and delicious. Portions were great and drinks were cold. The bar was small and quaint. If we're ever in the area again we will definitely come back here.

Said hi to Sasquatch and had some fantastic breakfast before exploring Shawnee Nat'l Forrest. The B's & G's and flapjacks were delicious! Great coffee, phenomenal service, and a unique atmosphere. Can't wait to return in the fall.

WOW! The Red Onion is a spectacular stop in the most…read moreunlikely place. Stopped in on a Friday night after some local hiking. The staff could not have been friendlier, the perfect example of southern hospitality! As far as the food... Incredible! It was a tough choice, but my guest and I both ordered the pork chop. Mine the 2 inch and his the 1 inch. These were unique in the best possible way, like a cross between smoked ham and pork chop, likely from their cooking process which I can only ASSUME involves a slow low temp smoke then a quick grill when ordered. Different, but also uniquely delicious. The sides were heavenly. I had the home made white mac and cheese and fries, and my guest had the loaded sweet potato and a salad. As far as appetizer, we received the free fresh bread loaf with sweet STRAWBERRY butter, as well as an order of loaded potato skins that were among the best I've had in recent memory. ...And all of this at an incredible price. I honestly don't know how they do it. Prices for the food we received were more like the early 2000's. Everything you see listed above plus soda/tea drinks was only about $48 with tax (pre tip). So not only was it an incredible meal with top notch service, but the price was about half of what you pay for the same quantity of food in a more populated or touristy area. Bottom line... The Red onion is a fantastic stop if your in the area and I would argue is well worth the drive if your not. They have top notch hospitality and a vast DELICIOUS menu with incredible prices to boot. I simply cannot wait to visit again and explore the menu further. Great Job!
