Service is fantastic. Very friendly and prices are comparable for bbq. When the weather is cool the outside seating is comfortable under the fans. The potato salad is not what this Texas bbq fan enjoyed. I'm not sure if it's the addition of what may be sour cream or something but, honestly I couldn't eat it. They are a skin on potatoes which doesn't bother me , it's the overwhelming flavor of the sour cream that takes away from it to me. The baked beans were not out of the can baked beans which of course is a huge plus. The flavor was pretty good as well. Bbq is my bread and butter so I can be pretty picky on my reviews. The baked beans are my favorite side I get every time, so I would get it again here. Just wish they would cut down the ketchup. If it's not ketchup it tastes like it is. The brisket is almost spot on. It was the right color, sliced the right thickness and had a good bark on it. A touch longer in the smoker to broaden the smoke ring would have been nice but still very good. The meat tore apart perfectly, and had a great flavor. All in all pretty good but I wouldn't recommend the potato salad. Also if you are a Coca Cola fan, be prepared for Pepsi products. read more

We saw a bunch of trucks as we passed by about 1135 on our way from CO to GA and figured it was worth a shot...glad we did! Brisket (tender, juicy, smokey) was my overall favorite, followed by the Grilled/Smoke Chicken (outstanding infused skin), and finally the Pork (almost a wild hog flavor to it). The sauce was excellent on its own but didn't hold up as well as I expected against the Brisket and Pork intensity - I doubled the amount on the Sandwiches to compensate. It paired very well with the Chicken. We'll stop again if/when we're in town...Rejoice! read more

Would of given this 5 stars because the BBQ is excellent worth the stop. However gave it 3 stars because of the little red head working there is not very friendly and very rude. If I hadn't of been so hungry I would have left. The bbq is great though. read more

I think this BBQ is just a notch above average. I ate the pulled pork butt. It's very moist. There's an uneven flavor I experienced when eating this dish. I ate a few bites before a flavor explosion happened. Once you get a mouthful of that flavor though, OMG. I'm no expert on how to make pulled pork, but somehow in the process there's a need for a little more attention to detail. I can say that those small bites that seem unseasoned are very tasty when you add their unique BBQ sauce. It's a bit tangy like they've added a hot sauce to it. I enjoyed the pork more though once I knew which bites needed the sauce & which ones were power packed with flavor alone. The coleslaw was middle of the road. I liked it enough to eat all of it. I'm just saying that it's not a reason to do backflips. It has a very simple and clean slaw flavor that you might have grown up with. It's crisp and fresh too. I didn't think it was some throw together from yesterday. My favorite was the potato salad. Now this stuff may or may not be an in house recipe because I have tasted one similar to this somewhere else, but I loved this part of my meal. The potato salad has that thick rich flavor and a nice clean lingering flavor that stays with you for a moment as if to tease you saying; you know you want more! There's only outdoor seating so if you can't handle a fly or ten then you can sit in your climate controlled vehicle or take it home. I sat out on the patio with my dog and we both worked at keeping the flys away. There's a fan blowing on the patio to keep you cool in this summer heat and a view of nice green trees just across the street. I'd say give it a try. Everyone has there own taste buds and opinions. We were driving the Great River Road and needed a lunch stop. We kept saying "the next town" but the towns were small and very depressed with few open businesses. When we drove into Wickliffe and saw lots of cars and trucks parked at a little roadside place we stopped. You order at a window and get to-go or sit out at one of two tables. A woman in front of me asked if I'd been there before. Then she told me she and her husband drive a couple hours just to get the BBQ. The woman that took our order was very friendly. We had a pork sandwich and a turkey breast sandwich. Most people came to get takeout. The staff knew everyone. Our sandwiches were so good we got ribs to-go. This place should be on Diners, Drive In's and Dives! read more

Stopped in after our visit to Wickliffe Mounds State Park, (which is very cool for only $6), to grab some food for the road. Fantastic BBQ with mouthwatering side dishes. We had turkey sandwiches and brisket, with the best baked beans I've ever had and some darn fine potato salad. We always try to get something we've never had, when the opportunity arises. This time it was the BBQ bologna sandwich. I don't even like bologna and haven't eaten it in 20 years, but this sandwich was magical in it's simplicity. I don't know how they got bologna to taste like that but, it was a foodie's dream. Don't miss it! Great place with friendly service and excellent, hot food! read more

We were looking for somewhere to get lunch and this placed showed up on Yelp and had great reviews. Good thing we used Yelp because we probably wouldn't have noticed it otherwise. There is no inside seating and only a few tables outside, but it was a nice day so the outside seating was great. Most people lined up at the order window we're getting good to go. There was a steady stream of customers the entire time we were there-which wasn't that long since the food was ready quickly. We tried the BBQ baloney sandwich, the BBQ pork plate, the rib plate and the pork nachos. They were out of brisket. The ribs were the meatiest we had ever seen. Everyone enjoyed their food.
