Shrimp Po Boy
Joi L.

Food was great and hot the spot. Our server was nice and brunch went well. The po boy was tasty! Benedict scramble was super tasty, as well. I asked for mine with a chicken strip instead and they made it happen! So, yummy and just a great place to have a laid back brunch!

Stacked chicken n waffles

The first thing is the decor is amazing. The second is the food is excellent. Nice southern cooking and good hospitality. The service is excellent. The staff is very nice and attentive in such a busy environment. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Cajun Eggs Benedict

I don't usually order chicken and waffles, but I'm glad I did. The breading was so flavorful and just the right texture. The waffles were crunchy on the outside and fluffy and soft on the inside. The only thing I didn't love were the eggs. My mom had the ham platter and unfortunately she wasn't a fan. The ham was pretty fatty. Service was okay, not that great. Overall I give it 4 stars but my mom gives it 2.5 since she didn't really like her food.

Menu - Chicken Fried Steak

Was able to swoop in a little bit after lunch and was able to get seated fairly quickly. Overall a decent vibe for a family friendly style restaurant. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, country potatoes, scrambled eggs with a biscuit. The food was nice and hot, and when I asked for additional gravy they gave me a good bowl of hot gravy which I really appreciated. Everything was of a good quality but the flavor wasn't anything particularly great. It was a bit bland. They do provide several condiments but I'd prefer something with more flavor. Still everything was cooked well, great service, I would say it is a very safe restaurant which is usually what you want our of a breakfast spot.

Just decided to pop in with my grandfather for a quick bite and am impressed with everything. We both loved our food. I for sure loved my Monte Cristo.

Mardi Gras Beignets ($6.99)

Classic breakfast/lunch chain that can be enjoyed all day every day. If you are looking for some classic American food ranging from eggs cooked in various ways, pancakes, or even sandwiches then this is the spot. They have a variety of foods that will surely satisfy your tastebuds. I got the Mardi Gras Beignets which were very delicious. It comes with three huge, fluffy beignets that pair very well with their sauces of huckleberry, strawberry, and peaches. The pastry was light and not too doughy toppled with a generous amount of powdered sugar that gives it a nice sweetness. Definitely something to share as a nice starter/appetizer. As for my main entree I went ahead and ordered something I wouldn't usually get, Crabs Benedict. Very impressed with how it came out!! The eggs were perfectly runny while sitting on top of the crab mixture topped with the hollandaise sauce. I got a side of fresh fruit to go along with the dish. The service was good with our server refilling our drinks when she noticed it was empty. We ordered a Peach Iced Tea as well. Oh my goodness, this drink was overbearingly sweet! The syrup they used did not sit well and overpowered the beverage even with constant dilution from our water. Would not recommend this one at all. A very family-friendly location that has a great amount of seating and a variety of dishes for all to enjoy. Parking is plenty within a decent location of Turlock. Check this place out if you are craving for some good breakfast or even lunch foods!

Shrimp Po'Boy with LOTS of shrimp

If you want some southern comfort food...this is the place to go!!! My boyfriend and I met up with one of t His friends here. I've had southern food before but this is probably one the best that I've had. I got the fish (deep friend catfish) and chips and swamp tea for drinks. Everything was cooked well. The fries was a little soggy even if I told them to make it extra well done/crispy. I found the swamp tea to be a little sweet so I had to water it down. The highlight of our dine in was the Beignets. They were the bomb!!!!! My boyfriend ordered the shrimp po'boy. It was huge and came with a LOT of shrimps. It was so big that you can't even eat it as a sandwich. Our overall experience was good. The staff was nice and very attentive. We didn't really have to wait long to be seated or to get our food.

Cup of Grits

Second time here but I tried lunch food instead of breakfast. Grits tasted like microwaved not homemade unfortunately. Chicken sandwich was pretty good.

This is my go to spot for breakfast where I live. The kids love going here and we are always treated well. I like how they turned a bad situation into a positive one by having outside dining. The food is always great. My go to breakfast is the chicken fried steak breakfast which I share with one of my kids since it is so much food. The staff here are always great and attentive. I have never had a bad experience here.

So good. Large portions. A bit more expensive than I would have liked... But still didn't mind paying the check, cause the food was food.

I got the stuffed French toast with strawberries and it was smack. I asked my friend Amairani, "do you like it?" She said "fuck yeah."

Delicious food every time. But it's always busy on the weekend, expect a 20 minute wait so plan accordingly.

This gem is tucked into an industrial area, but you'll be happy once you have found its hiding spot. The last time we visited, we were in more of a celebratory mood and feasted on whole fried fish and a molcajete filled with an assortment of meat, seafood, and cactus. This time, we were in a bit of a rush, so we ordered tacos. Started off with guacamole and chips. Guac is very fresh and they mix in a little tomato to brighten things. Tried the Tacos Baja - both the shrimp and the fish version. These come with a heaping amount of filling and two tortillas- you can easily make two normal sized tacos with one taco. Nice crispy batter and well seasoned with an orange crema you can drizzle on top. Also tried the Tacos Gobernador. Sounds like something Arnold Schwarzenegger would order. These are super cheesy and shrimp filled. They're really good but it's a heavy meal. Everything we've had here has been delicious and I love how wide and varied the menu is. Highly recommend.

We went there because the pictures looked amazing and the reviews were good. It wasn't horrible,…read morebut not great. We ordered the crab boil with shrimp, sausage and crab and corn and white rice There was very little, thinly sliced sausage in the bag. We didn't get the corn, instead she gave us potatoes. My son is type 1 diabetic. Potatoes are not good for him to eat. She brought the corn on the side. Which was fine. The rice was not white rice. It was good rice. It had a few veggies in the rice, it was good. It's wasn't what I ordered and that type of rice doesn't go with the meal. I think the flavor of the crab boil was most disappointing. The flavor wasn't very good. I thought it was more salty than flavorful. I haven't tried other things on the menu. So maybe the other food they serve is better. Idk.
