Stopped by this place because it was right next door to the restaurant we had chosen for breakfast…read more I needed a little gift for a good firends birthday, and figured that you must try salt water taffy when in salt water taffy territory. The store is charming and has a lot of different candy to try. The pics on the wall show that this is an old school operation dating back a while and that just adds to the pleasure of the shopping. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly, and since I already had my mind set on the taffy, it was a short but sweet (excuse the pun), visit. The taffy itself was very tasty (I chose assorted colors and flavors), and the cute presentation of these little bundles of chewy candy, was the perfect gift. We only bought 2 bags one as a gift and one to sample and share, and the only regret is that we should have gotten more! Do yourself and your friends a favor and make their day by offering up a little piece of colorful, sweet, traditional ocean front specialty which is the Salt water taffy, and get an extra bag.

They prepare sushi and other Asian delights on site, and have a large selection of wines and beers. Hampton Natural Foods is a lot like Trader Joe's, but a little bit more higher end, and pricier. The wine section is very impressive, as is the cheese section. The place is always packed when I go there, so the lines can be a bit daunting. You can find a lot of unique brands that you won't see elsewhere, but be prepared to pay premium for them. Staff is friendly, and always ready to answer questions. I think the check-out people know that their lines tend to go slowly, and they're always gracious about thanking customers for coming (even if they have a small purchase). I've had no complaints about Hampton Natural Foods. Then again, I visit every few months. I think if this were my main place to shop and get all of my essentials that I'd be broke in no time. Buy in moderation and enjoy a great store like this- wish there were more of them!

I've been here twice now both times with my Mom. She chose this place a while ago for lunch. I got…read morethe chicken tenders dinner. It was OK but I wasn't a big fan of the brand of dipping sauce that they carry. Onion rings are delicious & I believe that they are homemade. It's an easy process as you go up to the counter to place your food & drink order. Visible menu on display with prices. You pay, get a number and can go inside & seat yourself. They will call out your number & bring your food to your table. On my first visit here staff was attentive and someone had come by to check on how we were doing & asked us if we needed anything. Not on this trip and it was busier on my 1st visit this year. My mom was craving whole belly clams & wanted to come here. We came around 4pm on a Tuesday. I decided I was going to get a lobster roll as I haven't had one on my visit while here in NH and I was ok with paying the crazy price of $29.99 and boy was I disappointed!! The texture of the lobster was odd.....it was soft, smooth & slippery. I've never had a lobster roll where the meat tasted like this before. Maybe it was super fresh? IDK but the lobster was lacking in the taste department. I got it with mayo. There was absolutely no spices/seasonings in it, no celery for that crunch, nothing. It was the worst lobster roll that I've ever had even the mayo didn't have any taste & I had asked for extra mayo. Oh & the bun, what was that?? One side looked like a hot dog roll & the other side looked like the butt end of a loaf of bread. It was barely even toasted on one side if that. Thank God for the onion rings as they were delicious & I knew that as I had them on my first visit. I told my mom how disappointed I was in their lobster roll and only ate 1/2 of it but due to the cost of it I had asked for a container to take the uneaten 1/2 home. I planned on adding some flavor to it with spices & some more mayo. Well the next day I decided I wasn't interested in it and offered it to my mom who gladly accepted. I asked her if she wanted me to put some seasoning in it & she said "no" well she agreed with me that it had NO flavor to it & was just as disappointed as I was. So unfortunately I don't recommend the lobster roll with mayo unless you like it to lack flavor. This last visit no one came to check on us & I saw 4 different girls in the eating area that worked there. My reasons for the 3 stars: 1. Prices 2. No flavor in the lobster roll, no hot dog bun, nor a toasted bun 3. Gross dipping sauce for your chicken tenders 4. Service in the inside seating area is a hit or miss I don't see myself coming back here unless I'm giving my mom a ride for her to get something to eat. She did enjoy her whole belly clams but even those were expensive. I know seafood can be pricey but I feel like their prices are not competitive with other places that serve seafood. This definitely isn't a fancy place so don't expect it to be. Food is served on paper, you get a little package with plastic silverware & a napkin. Staff aren't waiting on you. You get your own drink up at the soda fountain. These things I don't mind. I just expect my food to taste good & be satisfying which my most recent trip it wasn't.
