Hua Mochialoha's truck caught my eye right outside the parking lot at Kahala Mall, and since I love mochi, I had to stop and try it. It's a bit on the pricey side, but honestly worth it. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even sweeter. I tried the strawberry and the strawberry with chocolate--both were so good! The mochi itself was super soft and fresh, with just the right amount of sweetness. Definitely a treat I'd get again.

Stumbled on this dessert truck at Don Quijote in town. I got the iced strawberry matcha latte and it was amazing! You can taste the matcha and the strawberry flavors. I did get a strawberry mochi with azuki beans in it. That was good too. Service was quick. The two ladies were so sweet and friendly. Hope I can catch them again and try other drinks and desserts. They did have a few Dubai chocolate inspired desserts too.

I finally know what this mochi truck is called! After first seeing it in the background of an Instagram video, I kept trying to find the "Strawberry Mochi" truck on social media and around town. I finally ran into them in front of Don Quijote in town. Turns out they go by Hua_Mochialoha and frequent the KCC farmer's market among other areas. I decided on the chocolate strawberry, peach, and mango mochi (all with no bean). The strawberry one had the chocolate draped on the outside, and it tasted just like a chocolate strawberry. Both the fruit ones were super fresh and juicy. Bonus that it's mango season right now, so the mango one was amazing. Their mochi is the perfect soft, chewy consistency. Recommend eating it as soon as you get it! They have a wide variety of flavors as well as rotating specials. I'm looking forward to running into them again. I would recommend making the business name bigger on the sign so it's easy to find!

I spotted this mochi truck across the street from Don Quijote Kaheka (near the covered parking structure in town) and decided to give it a try. I ordered a 9-piece fruit mochi variety, a strawberry matcha latte, and a strawberry milk for my 3-year-old daughter. My order was ready in about 5 minutes--super quick! The mochi was incredibly soft and paired beautifully with the fresh fruit. It was the perfect refreshing treat on a hot summer day. Both drinks were delicious--not overly sweet, and you could really taste the strawberry in each. My daughter loved hers! The woman working at the truck was so kind and patient while I figured out which flavors to choose. If you see this truck around, I definitely recommend stopping by. Great service, tasty treats, and a lovely little break in your day!

Got their acai bowl at the KCC farmers market and it was really good because of the unlimited toppings. The guy putting them on for me was really nice and the entire stand was very friendly people. Nothing to say about ambiance since it was just grab and go, but the base and topping variety make this acai bowl the best I've tried with a great value. I got all the fruits offered, some toppings, and found that there were already chia seeds underneath. The pineapple syrup isn't tasteable but the overall sweetness is pretty good.

Friendly staff and ono mochi. We tried a little of almost everything. Strawberry plain, strawberry adzuki, strawberry chocolate, strawberry adzuki with matcha, raspberry chocolate and banana chocolate. All were super tasty but I particularly liked the banana chocolate which surprised me as I'm not the biggest banana fan. They use dark chocolate and it forms a hard shell over top of the mochi but it blends together quite nicely. I also got a strawberry matcha latte. All 10/10 from me.

We got the mana bowl, but any acai bowl is good here. Great local island favorite with cute Hawaiian decor (hand carved wooden surfboards, Eddie Sinai poster, local art). I tried several bowls including the Da Cove, Mana, Lava, Hapa, and Hawaiian. The fruit in every bowl tasted incredibly fresh and everything was really enjoyable. My fav was definitely the Hawaiian because it includes paʻiʻai, which I later learned is hand-pounded steamed taro. It had a slightly chewy, paste like texture that was really good and added something special to the bowl. I would easily recommend this spot to anyone visiting. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in Hawaii. We didn't get a chance to try any of their other food or drinks though, so that's something I'd want to check out next time. There are quite a lot of seats inside, which makes it fairly easy to find a place to sit. They do have parking right in front of the shop, but the spaces are a little tight. The bathroom was a bit questionable though it was very dimly lit and seemed to double as a storage area.

I like the Monkey Biz when I want something sweet or the Acai Superfood (extra honey) when I'm feeling like it. This is in the same plaza as et al, and there's also a Wholesale Unlimited there as well. I needed a wake-me-up, post-workout drink and asked what a Java the Hut was. I guess it contains coffee powder and coffee in it, with some whey protein, etc. The woman behind the counter asked if I wanted vanilla or chocolate protein and I asked what she suggested. She said chocolate was better. I asked if the drink was good and she said it was, so might as well try something new other than my usual go-to pineapple smoothie. Well, Java the Hut is my new favorite drink there, and I've been thinking about it for the past two months, since we got home. I'm going to try to replicate the recipe at home - it's that good! The women working there were so nice and I'm going to make it a point to go back there on my next visit.

It is also the best thing I have had on my one-week trip to Hawaii. Let me start by saying I visited this place two years ago and made it my mission to come back. Since my group of nine decided to book a trip to Hawaii, this was the first thing I added to the itinerary. And again, it did not disappoint. The service is top tier. The busser saw our large group come in and asked if we wanted to sit at a table we were eyeing, then cleaned it off for us and added extra seating so all of us could fit. The cashier was also very nice, and once your order is ready, the workers explain the toppings bar so you can dress your açaí bowl however you want (coconut flakes, granola, honey, chia seeds, etc.). I got the regular açaí bowl, and again, it is the best açaí bowl I have ever had. The açaí is thick and very rich, and you can tell the blend is real açaí and the berries on top are fresh. The topping bar is a great touch because you can customize it to your liking. It is sweet but not overly sweet or artificial tasting. It also takes a long time to melt, so you can take your time eating it. We also got a couple waffles on the side, and those were good too.
