Stumbled on this dessert truck at Don Quijote in town. I got the iced strawberry matcha latte and it was amazing! You can taste the matcha and the strawberry flavors. I did get a strawberry mochi with azuki beans in it. That was good too. Service was quick. The two ladies were so sweet and friendly. Hope I can catch them again and try other drinks and desserts. They did have a few Dubai chocolate inspired desserts too.

I finally know what this mochi truck is called! After first seeing it in the background of an Instagram video, I kept trying to find the "Strawberry Mochi" truck on social media and around town. I finally ran into them in front of Don Quijote in town. Turns out they go by Hua_Mochialoha and frequent the KCC farmer's market among other areas. I decided on the chocolate strawberry, peach, and mango mochi (all with no bean). The strawberry one had the chocolate draped on the outside, and it tasted just like a chocolate strawberry. Both the fruit ones were super fresh and juicy. Bonus that it's mango season right now, so the mango one was amazing. Their mochi is the perfect soft, chewy consistency. Recommend eating it as soon as you get it! They have a wide variety of flavors as well as rotating specials. I'm looking forward to running into them again. I would recommend making the business name bigger on the sign so it's easy to find!

I spotted this mochi truck across the street from Don Quijote Kaheka (near the covered parking structure in town) and decided to give it a try. I ordered a 9-piece fruit mochi variety, a strawberry matcha latte, and a strawberry milk for my 3-year-old daughter. My order was ready in about 5 minutes--super quick! The mochi was incredibly soft and paired beautifully with the fresh fruit. It was the perfect refreshing treat on a hot summer day. Both drinks were delicious--not overly sweet, and you could really taste the strawberry in each. My daughter loved hers! The woman working at the truck was so kind and patient while I figured out which flavors to choose. If you see this truck around, I definitely recommend stopping by. Great service, tasty treats, and a lovely little break in your day!

I just happen to be driving to Kahala Mall and saw the truck on Kilauea Avenue. I had read about this truck and since our family loves mochi I decided to give them a try. They are right in front of the drive-through Starbucks so it's easy parking. There was no one in line and I almost thought they weren't open but I was told they are there every Sunday. I selected four: matcha, persimmon, mango and strawberry. No beans. They use real persimmon and it was absolutely delicious. I thought I ordered the Matcha without beans but it came with but it was not bad at all. As a matter of fact they were all delicious. The mochi is not super sweet so it definitely highlights the flavor inside. These little guys are too remaining refrigerated. It was a hit with me and my adult child. At $4.50 apiece, it's a little steep but I am sure they're homemade And so we savored every bite. I would definitely go again. Let's support this cute little truck.

Got their acai bowl at the KCC farmers market and it was really good because of the unlimited toppings. The guy putting them on for me was really nice and the entire stand was very friendly people. Nothing to say about ambiance since it was just grab and go, but the base and topping variety make this acai bowl the best I've tried with a great value. I got all the fruits offered, some toppings, and found that there were already chia seeds underneath. The pineapple syrup isn't tasteable but the overall sweetness is pretty good.

Friendly staff and ono mochi. We tried a little of almost everything. Strawberry plain, strawberry adzuki, strawberry chocolate, strawberry adzuki with matcha, raspberry chocolate and banana chocolate. All were super tasty but I particularly liked the banana chocolate which surprised me as I'm not the biggest banana fan. They use dark chocolate and it forms a hard shell over top of the mochi but it blends together quite nicely. I also got a strawberry matcha latte. All 10/10 from me.

We had the "highly rated" North Shore shrimp three years ago and the way they serve it to you isn't very appetizing. However, this shack, chef's kiss. The presentation and the flavor was all there. This was more chipotle ish with maybe some sort of minced onion than the spicy garlic shrimp I had the past two times. Last week it tasted like it had fish sauce in it with spices and garlic, etc...tonight it literally tastes like bbq seasoning mixed with chipotle seasoning and chili onion. I'm not writing this review to bash this shrimp truck because I think they are very nice but more so as constructive criticism...to hopefully keep their recipe consistent. People want the flavor of Garlic shrimp without having to go to the north shore. These other seasonings just didn't cut it for me:(

With the recent flood happening at the end of March, and our trip being in early April, going to North Shore wasn't advised. While we have some great Hawaiian garlic shrimp spots in Arizona, we had to at least try to get some garlic shrimp while on Oahu. We gave this place a try just because we were already in the building. It wasn't a choice we made prior because honestly, I would have suggested trying a more well-known spot like two miles away, haha! We shared a $14 Shrimp with Original Garlic sauce on it and made it a combo with rice, a scoop of potato mac salad, and regular salad, $14 + $6. Sam's Kitchen was okay. I would have loved to have the shell-on but this place does not offer shell-on shrimp. Still, they make a decent garlic shrimp.

Besides several familiar sellers being gone, the number of vendors seemed to be less than I remember. Bringing a friend to this market, I wasn't sure whether he'd been here and I walked off to use the restroom which is now the one on campus. As I returned, my friend had wandered to this stand and generously shared what he bought with our other travel companion and me. He bought the Empanada especial which was crab (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=kWEPRzOWs2EtocPcEAaSLw), real crab meat, potato, smoked Gouda cheese, mayo, onion; it came with a delicious green chimichurri sauce (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=WS6EnU062gvtZnct4DPPog) that we dipped them in. We toasted our landing here (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=72&select=fpX7EDFfjUJTUwsveh5Elw) and started dipping it in the provided chimichurri sauce. They don't have a permanent location, and do pop ups at various locations. I love a great empanada, and have been getting mine from the "other" empanada store that opened in early 2024 in Kailua. These empanadas are really small for the $5 price 3 for $13), but that's the only "negative" about it. It's about 3 inches across, which is about half the size of a "regular" sized empanada. Empanadas are more of a snack anyway, but two or three would make a meal for me, just not at this size (lol). The taste and texture are really great. The crust is flaky and slightly crisp, like the outside of a biscuit or a pie crust, which is really nice. The fillings are very tasty, and they have a good variety. I tried the Greek empanada, and the Cochinila, which is a slow roasted pulled pork. They were both very good and flavorful. They provided a small dish of chimichurri, fresh, tart, and slightly spicy. Their special one is their crab empanada ($6), and if they're a regular at the Kailua FM, I may try that the next time. Overall, they're very tasty with a great texture, but a bit pricey.

Whatever is currently being served as "açaí" tastes nothing like açaí. Instead of the rich, dark berry flavor and texture I was expecting, it was a strange lavender-colored mixture that seemed heavily diluted and lacked the authentic taste of açaí altogether. I've been a customer for years, so this wasn't just a one-off first impression. The quality seems to have changed dramatically, and it's frustrating to pay premium prices for something that barely resembles an açaí bowl. I truly hope Da Cove revisits their recipe or ingredients because this used to be one of my favorite spots. Unfortunately, this experience left me disappointed and unlikely to return until the quality improves.
