I'm literally going to the Kaka'ako Farmers Market at opening next visit because of this place, I got there within the first hour & it seemed like almost 3/4 of their inventory was wiped out... and with good reason. I got the chocolate strawberry mochi, which I thought meant chocolate dipped, but no, it's enrobed in fudgey bliss rivaling the best ganache I've ever tasted in addition to the fresh mochi. Looking forward to trying all the other flavors so much!

One dozen fresh Matcha Strawberry mochi

Fresh mochi delivered to our door! Ordered the one dozen fresh matcha strawberry mochi from their website. Ordered delivered as scheduled and even gave us extra mochi as a bonus! The mochi itself were delicious with the perfect amount of chewiness. The matcha was balanced nicely with the white chocolate. Would buy again!

Ordered a variety of mochi. The strawberry chocolate was delicious. Service was ok. Ambiance was nice for a pop up event located in the parking lot outside of pearlridge mall. She ran out of a lot of items, so I need to make a return visit.

Purchased at their pop up at Bloomingdale's Ala Moana - Sat. It was nice and soft and lots of filling. They were out of most flavors but the ones I had were tasty. The packaging is nice and protects the mochi from being damaged in transport. Other people told me they already purchased some earlier. If they are there when you are there they are soft and tasty. They are at a craft fair according to their website. They answered my question and were friendly.

My Aunty purchased this mochi for our family dinner. She brought okinawan sweet potato, Nutella, peanut butter, and chocolate peanut butter. The mochi itself does not have much sweetness to it. It is more like plain mochi that is eaten during New Years. The filling is the only thing that it gives it the additional flavor. If you do not like sweets, this mochi is perfect for you. It comes nicely packaged individually. My Aunty tried to contact them through text with no reply. I'm not sure if they are a small business and are unable to keep up with the demand. I will definitely be checking them out on my own one day to see what other flavors they have.

The bigger the malasadas size the more airy and fluffy and more bread layers that will be inside. 2. their malasadas always taste fresh and the same quality each time. 3. their malasadas don't feel oily or heavy at all Overall I would highly recommend this place for their Malasadas! I'm so happy to have found them. I can back multiple times on my trip. They also have other desserts too that I have yet to try. They have ice cream, cakes, and other desserts Also tip: if you are ordering a malasada also order a coffee or a matcha drink to go with it. The cinnamon sugar from the malasada just matches so perfectly with a drink this restaurant is also a nice place for walking! There's lot of stores and restaurants to walk around! I'm trying to remember but I think there was a book off that was not too far from here! If you either drive or maybe walk. Service: staff was super helpful and friendly while I was there. I was having an issue with my online order because my phone was being glitchy and they were so nice in helping :) Also wanted to note their branding is so cute!! They even sell merch items too

However, there are many alternative malasada purveyors throughout Honolulu, so I depended on local vloggers to find the best ones. This one popped up often on YouTube, and as luck would have it, we were dining at The Pig & The Lady on the next block. How calorifically convenient. We took the opportunity to stop by for a pre-dinner snack since they closed at 6PM. It's a cute shop with multiple sweets including quite a selection of housemade ice cream and delectable mouthfuls called Cake Bombs (Photo 10). We decided we would be good and ordered one unfilled Malasada each. Dusted with various sugar flavors, they were just $2.65 a piece. I went for the Coffee, while Jamie chose the daily special, Cinnamon (Photo 6). They were soft and tasty, quite comparable to Leonard's albeit a tad smaller. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing since we had dinner ahead of us. However, we let temptation get the best of us and shared a $5.50 slice of the Ube Haupia Mac Nut Bar, a yummy combination of sweet potato and ube topped with haupia (coconut milk pudding) on a macadamia nut crust (Photo 9). Truth be told, it stole the show from the malasadas. FOOD - 4 stars... the malasadas were good, but that ube dessert was next level AMBIANCE - 4 stars...really a takeout operation with a lot of temptations SERVICE - 4 stars...very calm and orderly TOTAL - 4 stars...yet another spot for sweet Hawaiian decadence RELATED - Exploring Hawaii? The restaurant is located near the Ala Moana Food Court so you can get yourself a savory meal then head here right after. They have a nice selection of Korean Bingsu and Drinks but the Bingsu is what keeps everyone coming back. Don't let it's simple look fool you. The ice is super fine and creamy. You'll receive a small cup of Condensed Milk to drizzle throughout as you devour it. Make sure you don't drizzle it all at once. Popular flavors are Strawberry, Mango, Oreo and Injeolmi (roasted soybean powder) but I must say, the Mixed Berries is gonna be on my top choices from now on! I've tried watermelon too in times past and that's also a refreshing choice. The Bingsu includes slivered almonds and some whipped cream. They have a small size that could be good for 1-2 people but we got a large and it fed 4 of us ladies. Make sure you stop here before you leave Ala Moana and treat yourself!

We luckily found parking along kapahulu so tried 2 new places: Aburiya Ibushi (9:30pm) and Cha To Gelato Zen (10:30pm). As we walked back to our car, we walked past Zen and noticed it was packed. And it was a Tuesday night! Great that there was a menu on the door so we could see what the excitement was all about. Appeared to be fancy matcha drinks and desserts with a gelato bar. Decided since we had free parking and the line didn't seem too long, grabbing a gelato to take home shouldn't take long. There was only 1 person working to serve the entire restaurant! She had to make every fancy dessert! Omg. But as I watched her, I realized that she was so sweet to everyone and worked very efficiently. We actually did not wait long at all, as there were only 3 orders ahead of us. When it was our turn, she let us sample the gelato flavors. We ended up buying twice as many scoops because they were all so delicious! Not cheap but tasty! We got the azuki (creamy because it's mixed with marscopone), black sesame, miso (taste kinda like caramel), and seasonal watermelon (only for August). The matcha chocolate was very unique. Didnt try the mango. My fav was the watermelon, which was more of a sorbet than gelato. Will definitely return to try their other desserts!

The service here was super nice as well! The staff was really thoughtful and insightful when helping me figure out which drink to choose. Huge shoutout for their operating hours, too--this was honestly the latest I've ever been able to do a matcha run, which is a massive plus when a late-night craving hits. As for the drink itself, the matcha I ended up getting didn't stick out to me quite as much as I expected based on other reviews. It was decent, just not a standout star on this particular visit. That said, with how great the staff, vibe, and hours are, I'm sure if I go back and try a different option, I'll find a drink that hits the spot. Definitely planning to give them another visit!

Hubs had to fast from 6 am for his 2 pm surgery so I thought he would probably be starving and would enjoy a delectable salt and butter roll from here. At $4.50 a piece I consider this a luxury for us. I found a close stall in the parking structure. A very cheerful polite male employee took my order. I had seen two occupied tables as I walked into the shop. Both had matcha drinks. Why not? I asked the young man assisting me, what's the best matcha drink? He said his favorite was banana matcha with extra banana foam. Okay I'll try it. He repeated it to the cashier. So popular there was a wait for beverages to be prepared. Soon enough mine was ready. I think Doc would enjoy this drink. This shop is a working bakery. Many yummy pastries displayed. Menu is posted high up above to choose from. Rather tiny shop with room for customers to stand in line to order and wait for drinks. Clean, busy with a few tables and chairs outside but pretty much in direct sun.

We did however, snag the last 2 mango w/ whipped cream mochi along some other red bean mochi. Was a bit surprised that the aunties were arill making them though they were gonna close in less than 2 hours. We hopped into the car and turned on the ac while we opened up the first mango mochi. Wasn't a huge fan of the whipped cream but the mango was pretty sweet. The mochi had a nice chewy and soft texture to it. Sadly, wasn't a fan of the regular red bean or ube mochi but did enjoy the texture. Went back a few days later at 10 and saw a full fridge of the mango mochi w/ lima bean. This is likely the only thing I'd go back for which was pretty good. A full 1/2 of a mango sits inside a bit of white bean paste wrapped in a soft and chewy mochi. Only thing that would've made this even better is if the mango we had would've been sweeter. Decent mango taste but understand there's no way to guarantee whether a mango is sweet or not. Still prefer the unique mochi flavors at Nishodo but quite enjoyed the texture or the mochi her at Kansai. Did notice the mochi here still has a good texture even the next day.
