My husband and I celebrated my birthday at HT Grill! Their birthday deal is surf and turf, a.k.a. lobster and a fillet. This is served with fingerling potatoes and broccolini. My husband had the chicken piccata. We were both very satisfied with our meals and what a great deal for your birthday! There's valet parking just before the restaurant, which is awesome, as it can get very crowded on Catalina, in Riviera Village. We're definitely going back to HT Grill. They had a very extensive menu and we'd like to try out more choices. Thank you, H, T grill, for my birthday dinner. What a treat.
Nice service, great happy hour prices and comfortable seating. Everything was tasty but I'd skip the tuna tostada next time.
The location is nice. Right in Redondo Beach with both indoor and outdoor seating. Close to the beach to walk after eating. Our service was just okay. When walking in we were greeted and had my dad's ID checked for his free birthday dinner (must be on your birthday). Our waiter could have been better. He was a bit slow to bring items, like the steak knife for my dad's steak. Also forgot my hot sauce for tacos. By the time he came back we had to remind him but I already started eating because the food was getting cold. The steak was ordered medium rare but was more medium. The lobster was good and a good size. The fries calamari and shrimp were good. Also the birds tacos were nice. Had a margarita and asked for a sugar rim, but got salt. Decent but needs lots of work for pricing.
Came here as it was highly recommended especially for a birthday. The ambiance is perfect for the restaurant it looks rustic. Service was great with great recommendations. All plates we had great taste and flavor. Definitely recommend. For a great dinner in beautiful Redondo Beach
Came in for the prime rib Sunday meal. There was a lot of fat on the prime rib. The meat was good and was medium rare just like I ordered. Service was good. It was nice sitting outside. Restaurant has plenty of seating and clean.
Had a great dinner here tonight. Parked in the valet parking for $7 but I could probably have driven around and found metered parking if I had the time. Had a delicious dinner that included sliders and dumplings from the happy hour menu (available 4-7pm) and short ribs and wagyu steak with mashed potatoes and carrots/broccoli. We sat in the bar area so it was pretty loud but we got seated right away. Our waiter was very attentively and helpful.
Just had a great time for my wife's birthday. Everyone wished her a happy birthday and she partook of the free steak and lobster brithday deal. The steak was very melting your mouth. We had a lot of appetizers, as we were there during happy hour. The calamari and shrimp was crisp and had two awesome dipping sauces. We ate outside and enjoyed the nice beach weather. We did valet parking, but you may find street parking. Richard was awesome and made sure we had a good visit.

The two other diners had the burgers and fries for dinner. Very nice char on the burgers and done to our specifications. Birthday Girl loved the lobster tail and the filet was quite good as well . Ella was our server and was spot on coming by often to check in on us . Busy Friday night too. Ambiance is open and airy with outdoor seating . Nice happy hour with decent menu/drink options.
This is a pretty restaurant! We did a walk-in for 7 of us and they were able to accommodate for a Friday evening, but recommendations is definitely recommended as I think we just got lucky. They have complimentary bread service but you have to ask for it. The service is really professional. We had clam-chowder for the table, and even though it is called "baby" in the menu, it is enough to serve 2 people easily! It is one of the best clam chowders I have had. Not fishy, great ingredients, and tasty seasonings. I ordered the bone-in ribeye as well and it was cooked perfectly to my liking, good size, seasoned well and delicious. Parking might be difficult but the walk is pretty and fun. I highly recommend and I look forward to trying their brunch service soon!
Another amazing time at HT Grill. Stopped in for lunch with a friend. We opted for the patio seating, always a nice vibe whether it's evening or day. The patio has heaters, umbrella shade and a fire pit. Our waiter was friendly as always and attentive. We both ordered salads, I ventured off my usual of the HT Wedge with grilled shrimp added, and went with the Beet the Burrata for the first time, and I think I've got a new favorite! With an arugula base, sliced tomatoes, beets and burrata served with an amazing sweet potato dressing (I can't quite explain it, I know it sounds odd, but it's amazing)! Being a late Sunday afternoon, it wasn't long before the sounds of the local live band "Feed the Kitty" started up. After our salads we went into the bar area and enjoyed the Feed the Kitty set. Always a great time at HT Grill.
Located in Riviera Village, this place feels more like a bar than a restaurant. The food is ok but nothing special... the chicken parmigiana came out weird with a bunch of linguine on top and just wasn't very appetizing. The Mac & cheese was decent but I've also had way better. The burger was just alright too and the onions lacked caramelization... I probably won't be coming back...
First time at HT grill. Came for a birthday dinner. Great location in Riviera Village. Very busy on a Saturday evening. We sat inside, and it was loud. We sat right near the bar area, and it was very lively there. Food was very good - the Margherita pizza, piccata chicken, surf and turf (free for birthday person - must show ID), and wagyu burger were outstanding. Staff was friendly. Good for a group, and festive atmosphere. Reasonable valet parking.

Walked in shortly after opening. Asked to sit at the bar as I had arrived on Ran time. Means early for those of you who don't know me. Had a cocktail at the bar - bartender ended up being our server as well. Nice guy. Attentive. Friendly. Don't know why he would be assigned tables outside while watching the bar. Wasn't an issue as it wasn't busy. Towards the end though ... Food was good. I went for an omelet. See pics. Wasn't spicy but remedied it with hot sauce. I wasn't expecting the portion size - pics are deceiving. I couldn't finish the side potatoes. I did have room for a second cocktail though. The bartender/server made some really nicely balanced drinks. Not too boozy but not watered down either. I'd go back there just for drinks alone. Overall it was a chill mellow experience. One that I'd repeat but the next time I'd opt to sit inside. Or sit outside again but around the firepit in the evening.

HT Grill has been here since my high school days. (Many moons ago, lolm) Over the years they had their ups and downs. The last 2-3 years or so has been a huge improvement and has become one of my favorite restaurant iin the South Bay! I think they got a new head chef and have better tasting recipes then years before. They have complimemtary breads but they are only upon request these days. We always forget to ask and they don't bring it out unless you request it yourself which sucks because we forget and I love their bread. We come here for family's birthday surf and turf dinner! Fillet mignon, lobster tail, potatoes and brocolini. One of my favorite dish here is the Black & Bleu Wagu burger! Absolute favorite of mine! Wagu burger with American Cheese, Caramelized Onions, Pickles ,Tomato, Lettuce, bacon, Chef Sauce ( bleu cheese and..) and I ask for raw red onions on the side. Please do not discontinue this dish! FISH & CHIPS lcelandic Cod / Beer Batter / Fries / House Slaw / Tartar CAESAR SALAD is very ordinary. PEPPER ROASTED USDA PRIME RIB DIP* * really good! Caramelized Onions / Au Jus / Swiss / Horseradish Aioli Baguette/ House Fries STEAK FRITES* Prime Flat Iron / Chimichurri / Mixed Salad / Truffle Fries HT SHORT RIB* Red Wine Port Sauce / Broccolini Desserts, their bread pudding and Tiramisu are so darn delicious! I haven't had the best service here until recently and tonight. But there's one particular waiter that I really do not enjoy his sarcastic dry humor. I had him a few times and I always kind of dread it. His service is somewhat non existence either. Service was top notch from Bridgette. She was a very sweet lady. But tonight, we had Jackson, a name I loved and he did not disappoint me either. Great service from an friendly attentive waiter. I would have preferred to sit inside where it's woodsy but bright enough but my friends preferred the big patio. The shadier table we chose helped. This seems like a welcoming place with seats around a pit fire. Great selection of cocktails. The recommended Purple Haze was enjoyed by both people. Their alcohol seems limited to cocktails and wine. Mocktails offered as well. Coffee - only have brewed but it was strong. I wasn't sure what to order this being my first time but after seeing Eggs Benedict with perfect-looking poached eggs arriving to nearby diners, I got my first Crab Eggs Benedict. Whoa! Amazing, with 2 crab cakes all meat! The eggs should have been poached eggs perhaps another 30 seconds but I'd rather have them under than overcooked. Get their Breakfast Potatoes which comes with most brunch dishes - big pieces, crisp on the outside, plenty of onions and also red peppers. Fantastic meal choice for a birthday brunch. My friends likewise enjoyed their Fish tacos Salmon Eggs Benedict and Chicken Breast Sandwich Prices are all reasonable. They have a lot of good specials during the week and would you believe, Free steak and lobster on your actual birthday!? I plan on finding out how much on my birthday. Another reason to love this place is for their Happy hour, which ends at 7, Monday - Friday. HT has their own parking too. Parking in this area is challenging on Sundays because of the Farmers Market. Note: They brought a tiramisu slice for the birthday gal but we only found out they charge $13 for it when we got the bill. By 1:15pm, the patio was mostly full in an area with a lot of dining choices. Wished I lived closer but seriously might return in a few months for my birthday brunch! read more
Popped in for a light dinner and left pretty disappointed--the food is simply too average for the price point, and the service was on the slower side to boot. We started with the calamari and shrimp; while the shrimp tasted fresh, the calamari was thin, chewy, and tasted very old. Next came the crab cakes, which were tiny and completely unremarkable. We honestly debated leaving to eat elsewhere halfway through, but decided to stick it out. The last item we ordered was the battered rockfish tacos, served with chips (though strangely, no salsa). They featured a decent cilantro-mint-mango flavor profile that easily made them the highlight of the meal. The cocktails were just okay. Looking back, we probably should have gone elsewhere. read more

Everything was nice. Food, ambiance. I just wish the server had more wherewithal. She did not ask my semi non-verbal child if she heard him correctly so missed his lemonade order. She saw he was crying when his brother got a drink and he didn't. She knew it was her inaction and offered to bring another lemonade. She kept apologizing for making him cry. ...Yet she charged us for the lemonade. :/ He was upset. We were not thrilled. A simple: Did I hear you correctly? We came in on Saturday evening, and they were busy, but they offer valet for $10 if you're eating on-site. We had a reservation for a birthday celebration, and the ambiance and vibe were great. From the host to the wait staff, everyone was helpful, and the food was amazing. From the halibut, steak, and lobster all the way to the salmon. Everything tasted great; their calamari was a great starter. If you come in on your birthday, they'll give you a free steak and lobster meal for free. They do check ID, their lobster was amazing! Always a fun experience at HT Grill! I meet up with a friend here every other month or so for a weekday lunch. I love their patio, and the chill, relaxing atmosphere. Today we split the Wedge Salad and Lobster Mac and Cheese. Large portions and so good! Friendly service, too. We'll be back! read more

Our dining experience began with a friendly valet attendant greeting us with sincere wishes for a good meal. A gracious host welcomed us and promptly found our reservation and seated us. We opted for the bar area because it looked eclectic and buzzing. Not loud, just humming. Within moments of being seated, Ashley welcomed us then went for water while we read the cocktail menu. She took our choice of beverages then returned a few minutes later with our drinks. We weren't rushed to order food, but if you were in a hurry that offer was extended. When we'd enjoyed about half of our drinks, Ashley popped back and took our dinner order. Both of our dishes arrived in a timely manner. They were excellent! The Ahi tuna salad was almost buttery. My Chicken Parmesan was moist, flavorful and had a very nice crunch. Instead of dessert, which we were to full to consider, after dinner drinks seemed appropriate...and they were. If you're looking for a nice date night meal, this place fits the bill. Cheers! read more

Perfect place for an afternoon beach walk & lunch that leads into happy hour! They have Tini Tuesdays for $10, my favs are the HT Classic and Espresso Martinis. Every birthday we take friends because you get a free steak and lobster entree if it's the exact day, how can you beat that deal! They have a good happy hour too, we love the hummus plate and chicken gyoza. I always sit on the patio and the staff is accommodating with the fire pits and heaters when it gets a little chilly. The service is quick, and the vibes are cozy. I have fond memories throughout the years from Thanksgiving dinner to the starting point to all the holiday strolls. Great stop when I want that South Bay home town feel. read more
I've had a love, and less than love relationship with this restaurant. I've posted the good and the less than good. I dined this time on my birthday. The restaurant goes out of its way to make an actual birthdays really special. I brought along my ID expecting having to prove my birthday but the waiter took my word for it. I started with the house salad which was pretty large for the price. Their house dressing is really good and got the meal off to a good start. My main course was the Surf and Turf. I honestly thought it was Surf "OR" Turf and was pleased to know both were included. The lobster was large and cooked perfectly. It was removed from the shell before broiling and not only looked seriously appetizing but also tasted great. It was tender and served at the right temperature. The filet steak was medium rare, just as I ordered. It was as tender and flavorful as similar steaks at high end restaurants. It didn't need any seasoning as its rich flavors were downright mouth watering great. My guest enjoyed the Beef Birria Tacos filed with braised short ribs. It was the first time he tried this dish and he really loved it. And it was presented really well and looked great. This was an excellent experience. Our waiter was attentive and very friendly. He was accurate and our meal was definitely not rushed. I appreciated his attention to making us feel welcome and appreciated. read more

It was my friend's birthday so we went for the free surf and turf. Early reservation at 6pm and we're seated right away. Unfortunately we sat for 10 minutes and had to ask the hostess who was nearby for our server. Then two people came so I assumed one was in training. After that we had service. Friend loved her surf and turf. My salad and crab cakes were good. Hubby liked the streaks of balsamic vinegar on the pizza. Ordered chocolate chip cookies for dessert which were warm. Free birthday dinner is a great deal. Not sure if I want to return as nothing I tried was outstanding. read more
I've lived in Redondo forever, and somehow this was my first time at HT Grill. Went on a Friday night, grabbed a spot in the bar area, and got treated to some great live music right off the bat. The drinks were on point and the espresso martini especially was next‑level. I ordered the surf and turf, and it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. HT Grill was great! Came here for the birthday special (if you know you know!) to treat my dad. We shared an order of calamari/fried shrimp and it was super tasty! I ordered the branzino and it was fantastic. The mashed potatoes were yummy and the sauce really makes the dish so good. Portion size was large and prices are not too crazy. Definitely a fancier sit down dinner spot, but great for celebrations or a nice dinner with friends or family. Service was great and timely. Parking is a little tough, but it's like that in the riviera. Meters or park on the beach side streets and enjoy a nice stroll. Would definitely go back! read more
HT Grill truly feels like a Redondo Beach staple. Love the ambiance of the outdoor area!! But also really appreciate the coziness of the restaurant interior. We went for their Monday night chef special prix fixe dinner which is an INSANE deal at $29 per person. You get an appetizer, main course, and dessert. Each week they have a different menu, so it's also like a fun weekly surprise. Our appetizer was a delicious tuna crudo with blood oranges. Incredibly refreshing, such a summery dish. Our entree was seabass in a savory, creamy sauce. The fish was cooked to perfection. We finished the meal with a sweet, but light banana cream pudding. Loved the sliced banana with vanilla pudding and wafers. The food at HT Grill is simple, but delicious. What really stood out to me was the exceptional service. I can't tell you how many times our server checked in on us to ensure that the meal was going well. What an exceptional establishment! Will most definitely be back. read more

First off, this review will probably end up hidden under "other reviews that are not currently recommended." Yelp isn't fair about when you leave an honest review & will either delete this review or hide because this is no longer an honest site due to their cherry picking. We went here for my birthday for the Turf n Surf which was great. It was the perfect amount for me but if you eat a lot you might need two of them. The lobster & steak was good along with being cooked right. Even the veggies were tasty. The service was really good too. Our waitress was friendly & attentive to our needs. As it got crowded, it got a little loud especially with one woman who couldn't stop talking. After she left it was much better. We will definitely go back next year for my birthday. read more

Came here for the free birthday surf and turf. Did street parking not too far away. Didn't take long to be seated. Place was nice and lively, and busy for a Wednesday afternoon. Tried a couple of different items: meatload, steak frites, and filet au poivre. The food came out pretty quickly. All the meats were cooked well and had nice flavor. The asparagus for one of the sides wasn't great. The fries were really good. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Good deal. Good food. Definitely will come back again. read more

A lively bar with the World Series on screen if you're into that kind of cheer. The service? Top-notch and friendly as can be. The food?
