UNDENIABLY THE BEST AUTO SERVICE STOP IN PASADENA *havent been to all of them but I stand my ground. Hrant is such a sweet guy and always takes care of all my needs. I bring both my cars into this place for literally anything and within minutes they will tell me what's wrong, what needs to be fixed, what the cost is, and asks if I want to go through with it. Hrant is also so nice, the first time I brought my Camry in for a belt change I thought I knew what was wrong with my car so I told them everything that was wrong and even brought in the part that was supposed to replace the "broken" part. Hrant, after looking at my car and removing the part, told me it wasn't broken. He went and put my old part back and gave me the new one to return.. There is a pretty good reason why nearly all the reviews on here are positive. This shop truly is a one of a kind honest auto repair shop. I have been here on two occasions. The first time was for an oil change. I did make an appointment and the oil change was done quickly and efficiently, and at a price that was comparable or a bit below the cost of most oil change places. The second occasion was today, 07/27/2016. I had made an appointment to drop off the vehicle at 12noon for a check engine light and a turn signal bulb out. Well, the turn signal bulb was fixed within 2 minutes and he charged me a low price that probably would have been at least triple at most places. Unfortunately, the main diagnostic computer was down and we couldn't deal with the check engine light on this particular day. He referred me to another auto shop which he trusted sending his clients too, and he stapled his card to there card. I will go there a little bit later on today. I am consistently pleased with the service, honesty, respect and prices that I receive from Hrant and his entire team. Luckily, I haven't had to use them too much; however, I know where I will always go if I am in need. read more

Excellent service! Arrived on time for my appointment and was greeted as I got out of my car. My car was in one of the bays and up on a lift within 5 minutes. Each employee was courteous and helpful. First of all the really do know what they are doing, I am guessing very experienced and educated in the field. A lot of attention on details as well meaning they do that extra that many mechanics won't and you might not even notice but this extra work really leaves the customer satisfied. I get a lot of service on my Lexus done at the dealer. Awhile back they told me my brakes would need replacing soon, and that's not something I wanted to pay a dealer to do. Based on its Yelp reviews, I decided the give Hrant a try. Hrant gave me a good price, was friendly, and got it done quickly. A couple weeks later my wife was in the car and said something was rattling in the back. My hearing is bad so I didn't really notice it, but I looked back there and couldn't find a problem. Today I had the car back at the Lexus dealer for service and told them about the rattle. They inspected and said the rattle was caused by improperly installed brakes. Specifically, the calipers were not tightened correctly. So the dealer mechanics tightened them and now the rattle is gone (I am told). I hesitate to give negative reviews, but Hrant obviously did not install my brakes correctly. Given all the 5 star reviews they have, this may be an aberration but it suggests they are not as perfect as their Yelp record suggests. read more

Unreal. After being given the run-around by a major auto repair chain for a year or so, I decided to give a local business a try. I moved out here all alone with no friends or family members to give me car advice, so as a lone student I grit my teeth and went to whatever chain store was closest when something went wrong (which was often with a 10+ year old car). NEVER AGAIN. I called at noon on a weekday, Alex got me an appointment for 2, I was back home by 430. The problem the major repair chain said I had (all calipers needed replacement) wasn't the problem at all (front brake pads/rotors needed replacement). Not sure how a good mechanic could've missed that. These guys diagnosed what was ACTUALLY wrong and the total price was more than fair. I thought it was funny/cheeky when they gave me a folder as I was leaving for "future receipts and paperwork from us". *I* knew you were going to be the only repair shop I ever went to from now on, but how did YOU know that?! But they were absolutely right so I appreciated it :) Definitely give this place your business! The guys are all friendly, there's plenty of places to eat or look at nearby while you wait, and the rates are more than reasonable. Also spend a minute looking around the walls of their front office - it's totally packed with heartfelt thank-you cards, certificates & awards, and old pictures of the shop when it first opened back in the day. Hrant is a gem. My car had a handful of suspension and electrical issues that needed looking at. For anything that he could diagnose, Hrant and his team performed the diagnosis for free and gave me an estimation of the repair cost, when other shops would charge $50-100 just for looking at it. For anything that he couldn't do, Hrant recommended me a local shop that would be able to do the job. The repair itself ran into minor complications because of the modifications to my car's suspension, and the replacement part wouldn't fit. Hrant was determined to find a workaround and ended up doing so. He fixed my squeaky suspension entirely and because it was a non standard repair, he did it free of charge! I'm always a bit skeptical about trying new auto repair places, but we decided to give this place a try since it's near home and had great yelp reviews ;) I'm so glad we did! I dropped off my car at 7:20 a.m. and my first impression was a good one! The website said they open at 7:30, but I wanted to be the first one there, so I arrived a few minutes early. They were already open and ready for customers. They seemed to have a full staff of mechanics who were friendly and courteous. Even though, their schedule was full, they were able to work me in, since I arrived early. My car needed rotors, which I was already aware of and a synthetic oil change. I wish I could give more than 5 stars, this place is great. Figured I needed brake pads due to squeaky noises. Made an appointment, went over and Alex greeted me, I didn't even have to give my name, he recognized my voice. After the owner checked my brakes, he informed me they were fine. I was a bit shocked, how honest is that?! He could have told me I need 2 or all 4 and I probably would have believed it. Nope, he was honest and asked if I'd like anything else checked, which I did, the oil. Since I am driving a bit more, the oil was a bit dirty. He asked which kind of oil I wanted, had it changed out and topped off all the fluids and when I asked about the air filter, he said it was fine. This place will get my business as long I live here. Hootie and shop office manager met me as I drove in to the facility, and Alex was a super nice guy who gave me the lowdown on the facility. Shortly after the owner, Hrant, came out and introduced himself and recognize that I was the person who had called based on the yelp reviews to come in for an oil change. They probably took my car into the bay, change the oil, recognize that I have over 230,000 miles on my Nissan Altima and recommended adding a synthetic additive, which I agreed to. I will definitely be back here for auto work in the future. read more

I had the rotors and pads for the brakes replaced and I'm going to get the seals replaced, I think, on a coolant leak tomorrow, we'll see how that goes, may provide update. I found Hrant Auto Service through a Reddit thread and was really happy with the experience. They were very professional from the phone call all the way through when I was paying in-person. I called on a Monday morning and was able to get a oil change appointment that day at 10 am. I usually go to the chain auto shops because of coupons, but am making more of an effort to support our local businesses. It turned out to be the same price anyway, and I like that Hrant's team didn't try to upsell me on anything else. I have been here a couple of times (thanks to my boyfriend for referring me to this place) and each visit turned out to be excellent. For my two visits, I went for a routine car oil change. During my last visit, Hrant found out that there was something wrong with my car's rear brakes and called me about the situation, how long it will take for him to fix it, and how much it will cost before he did anything.
