We purchased a brand new 2021 dirt bike for my son for $1700 three days ago. Since then, his chain has fallen off more times than we can count, including a mere hour after the bike was purchased on his very first ride. Turns out, the $200 assembly fee we had to pay left us with an "installed" stripped tension rod that is causing this issue. Purchasing replacement parts days after buying a brand new dirt bike is ridiculous. We bought new because we didn't want a "fixer upper" but that's exactly what we got. My son saved up for a long time to buy this bike and he is incredibly disappointed that he can't even ride it.. and we're incredibly disappointed to have to pour more money into an already expensive brand new bike. read more

I ordered a helmet from these jokers, and I was told it would be about a month for delivery. I paid in advance (common for special order parts, etc.), took my receipt and left. When the time came and went, and I didn't get a call back, I started calling and leaving messages. Eventually, I was told that they had no record of the order or receipt but said they would place an order that day. A few days later, I called the manufacturer. They said they had no record of any new orders from Howell Cycle. (So, again, the dealership didn't do anything...) However, the helmet company assured me that my order would ship that day, and they sent the helmet to the dealership... who then never called to let me know that it arrived. I had to call them AGAIN to find out that it was there. Maybe I'm a sucker, or maybe these guys are scammers. My advice about this place: ride on by. read more

If I could rate them zero stars I would. I drove over three hundred plus miles to buy a tire for my bike just to find out later it was manufactured in 2009. I then called the owner "Jim" to discuss this issue. He was very rude and basically told me not his problem. I had told him it's not right for them to sell tires of that age due to safety issues. I was under the assumption it was a brand new tire. Considering I spent $190 on it. I would not recommend doing business with them. He didn't apologize or offer a refund instead said I should have checked the date stamp on the tire. Know that when you go in, you will be treated poorly, and you will not feel welcome unless you flash the cash. I am warning anyone who thinks about going to here, you would be better off burning your money. We picked up a GK110 taotao go kart for my son. Brand new, took it home rode it for less than an hour. It stopped working. Call them back and was told a wire came lose check all of them you should be fine. We did that and it still doesn't work. Called back two days later, was told we could bring it in and have it looked at but would be charged parts and labor. Was told it was the ignition coil or the CDI box. We paid 50 dollars for new parts, still not running. Called back the next day and was told that's what's we get for buying a 2,000 Chinese machine, we should have spend more money. I told him that's not good customer service and after this we will never be back. He told me that was and if he loses us a customers it's fine because there are plenty behind us. I came in to look at a Honda CBR250R which was priced at $1,999 yesterday Sept 21st 2017, and was disrespected and your salesmen was very rude. I was a new rider and wanted to sit on a few bikes to "get a feel" for what might be best for me. The (sales)person was less than helpful and made me feel like I was wasting his time. Like another reviewer said, didn't thank me for stopping in or even say goodbye. One other time I called to see what time they closed. The response was: "If you get here at 5 (or 6 or whatever it was), you'll see us heading for our cars." And it was said in a very condescending tone. Not at all customer oriented. On Sat 7/25/15 I visited this store. We drove about 45 minutes to get there because I had seen their advertisement on Craigslist for a great deal on a beautiful bicycle. I had called them a few days prior. They didn't think they had that bike in my size anymore, but encouraged me to come check out their large inventory. I'm so glad we did. As luck would have it, they DID have my size of the new 2014 Felt B16 Carbon Tri/TT bike. I got it for 1/3 off retail, meaning I got a NEW CARBON TRI bike, retailing for $1800, for only $1200!!!! Such a deal. Plus I was able to finance for 12 months interest-free for a one-time fee of $57. I spent $99 for a very through fitting plus received 15% off all accessories. I received excellent, knowledgeable, friendly service from all three salesmen who talked with me. I am very, very satisfied with Howell Cycle, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great deal on great bicycles. read more

Call the store was on hold for 10 min for a 5 sec question. Got a price on having my tire changed out ended up quoting me $40. Local tire shop said they would do it for $10. Spoke with the manager at Howell power sports to see if they wanted my business an asked if they would drop down the price. I explained my local tire shop would do the work cheap due to not needing it balanced etc, was told by the manager "take it to them". I will never support a penny to a company that pushes customers away. This is why the little guy never makes it in this economy. Very rude, unfriendly. Please heed the warnings of everyone else! I read the reviews and ignored them. I thoroughly regret ever seeing this place. Came from 3 hours away to buy a used 2007 Kawi. Absolutely no customer service. I had previously asked them to do the paperwork in someone else's name, but Jim ignored that and just did it in my name anyways (They charge a 200 dollar paperwork fee FTR). Pulled the bike around front, took my check and said you should go fill up across the street (I paid like 200 dollars for a bike service fee also BTW). I had also asked them to fix the clutch lever that was extremely stiff 5 days ahead of time. They didn't touch it. Left on the bike, got 65 miles, hit a bump on RT 23 and BOTH BATTERY TERMINALS SHEERED OFF. They were so corroded they literally just broke off on the highway leaving me and my escort stranded for 3 hours. The bike of course didn't have the factory toolkit, because that would make sense coming from here. The seat thankfully wasn't installed properly so I was able to rotate it and access the battery without tools. I also found out the horn doesn't work at this point, so they let me drive illegally. (Yes, I checked the lights and brakes before I left!) Luckily an Autozone was 4 miles away with a battery that barely fit. Got another 100 miles (after filling up a second time) and it ran out of gas and had SERIOUS CARB ISSUES. It would sputter and not accelerate and I was literally Sammy Hagar for the last 40 miles (I can't drive 55). Sorry Raquel and Justin, I should have listened to your reviews, but I was naïve and really wanted THAT motorcycle... Not worth it. read more
