"I will never go there again. Took a KRX1000 in for warranty repair on the transmission disengaging when coasting downhill. When it was returned, I decided to replace the clutch weights and discovered the primary clutch was rubbing on the plastic behind it. The right rear shock mounting bolts were not tightened up at all; the nuts were just started on the bolts. I also greased the rear bearings and changed the rear brake pads. In the process, I discovered they botched up a threaded hole for the caliper bracket. I chased the threads and it should be okay. The transmission fluid was not filled to the correct level; it was half a quart low. I noticed this because I installed a new drain plug that was magnetic. Very disappointed, when I called to discuss these problems with Jason, the service manager, all he did was make excuses." Rick Mitchell read more

I bought a tire from them (instead of buying one online). I had them mount it so I could avoid liability if anything were to ever go wrong. I had them do all the labor for said reason. My bike is just an 883 and I do not run it hard - customers report online of getting 20000 miles on my tire (Michelin Commander 2) that I bought, and I paid for this most expensive tire to get that out of it. Unfortunately the tire wore uncharacteristically quick and after about 7000 miles, it was starting to show threads. Of course I was disappointed --- but it finally made sense when I discovered why. I figured out that they mount it BACKWARDS. I went and asked them to make things right. I could have asked for a free replacement tire, or at least a substantial discount. I didn't even ask for that. I was just asking for a free mount on my next tire -- and I was blown off big time and sent to talk to someone else. They did not even show any intention of backing up their work at all. I was nervous coming in for a tire change after the nightmarish reviews I had read about this place, but gotta say I was pleased enough. It was a little inconvenient that they didn't do appointments and they needed a full day to get a tire change done, but that's mostly a limitation of their number of people working the service department, as I understand, so I don't hold it to them. They were transparent throughout the process and provided some guidance on other issues I've been having with the bike, even if they couldn't work on it because of it's age. Pricing is what it will be. Most shops charge between $90 to $110 an hour in my experience. They land somewhere in there as well. But they do it well, and I'm lead to believe that they would have charged less if I had taken the wheels off myself ahead of time (I brought the whole bike in). All in all, I had a pretty good experience here. Again, just got my tires changed, so I can't speak to anything much beyond that though. I should also note that I bought my own tires through a separate company, not through Free Ride. Then goes on to inform you that the assembly is another 900+. $9000 was basically the price I was told for a $5300 bike. As luck would have it, there was another place in Bloomfield that didn't try to bend me over, and walked me through every single cost. The look on their faces when I told them what Free Ride tried to do. So I bought the bike right there on the spot. Feel free to waste your money here, they will definitely lie to you in order to take it. Make sure you shop around. After leaving a message to the service department (which they never responded to) and giving them two calls, someone finally picked up the phone. "What kind of moped do you have?" he asked. "A Vespa," I responded. "We don't fix Chinese scooters. We only fix Yamahas," he said. "Chinese scooters need different parts." "I don't have a Chinese scooter," I responded. "This is Italian. I just need the throttle fixed, I don't really need specialized parts, I just need the throttle to work." "Sorry, but we can't fix that. Only Yamahas. Not Chinese scooters," he responded. I searched dealerships across the Detroit area. I just got my cycle endorsement and didn't want to go private. This dealer by far gave me the best deal on a 2017 Kawasaki 650 and made me feel comfortable with the bike as a newbie. Customer service was great. I sat on nearly every bike in the showroom and no one seemed annoyed, instead they engaged me in no-pressure conversation. I had a ton of questions and Carl was patient and gave me the info I needed. After spending $35000 with Freeride (We are super happy with the Can AM Maverick!) the customer support has been horrible! We should have walked out when we went in to sign the paperwork! The interest rate was different than what the sale kid told us it was, he did not disclose the extra fees we had to pay up front. Any way we bought a bunch of accessories for the Can Am and have had to take it back in a few times as the accessories became available to install (still not done with this) during this whole process they never called or initiated discourse concerning the accessories availability. We had to call them all the time, half the time they would never pick up! "Hey, Brandon how ya doin? Yeah are our parts in yet? You were supposed to call me." Brandon: "Oh yeah one of my guys was supposed to call you..." We have heard that one a few times now. The last time we were in we were like yeah we know it is dirty (I actually felt embarrassed at how filthy it was:() but Brandon knew we were upset at how he had handled our service and offered to wash and detail it before we got it back. So they installed the new wind shield, never returned my brothers phone calls about when he could pick it up (mind you they told us it would be ready Monday or Tuesday, my brother called them on Wednesday!) and then just prior to them closing he is informed that our ride is ready so he runs over there to get it, gets over charged from what he was quoted on the first service and everyone bailed to go home and the ride was NOT washed. "Oh, our power washer is broken" don't offer to do something and then not follow through!...This place is a joke, on other reviews a reviewer had noted how they do not ask if they can help you when you walked into their store....this is true we witnessed the playing on the phones and the abject disregard for potential customers! Been several days since my visit to this dealer and nothing has changed they are the worst dealer of any kind Ive encountered. I responded to an on line advertisement for a 4x4 utility 2020 Defender pro xt with a long box. Sales person responded 2020 was gone but they had the same unit in a 2021. I called , emailed and text to confirm exactly the unit they had in stock and that it was ready to go. I drove over 350 miles rt to see a machine that was NOT the one the salesman quoted. Went to this location in anticipation of buying one of many atvs they had listed "in stock" on their website. When we arrived two men exited the building without mask on so we entered without mask, we were greeted by a gentleman without a mask who demanded we put on mask while all the staff were maskless. Service Department : 1 Star or less. They put a Dunlop GPR300 (stock $95 tire) and tried to quote me beforehand $260 for the change. I let them know I wasn't as green as they seemed to think and asked about the price of the tire and labor. They broke it down for me as $99 labor and $125 for the tire. Math. So I insisted on less than $220 for the tire change and ended up paying $226. That's not a very reasonable rate for a rear tire change. Won't be going back for service. Retail: 5 stars. The gents there are very helpful and tend to be at least fairly knowledgeable. They have a fair selection of anything you would need at a powersports retail for standard prices. Saw the bad reviews of this place and had to check it out I Was looking into getting a cruiser for my girlfriend and I anyway so I rode my gsxr to the dealer. Right when you walk in there's a man to the right (maybe a salesmen?) and said hello and stated why I was there. He didn't seem to urgent to show me around so I mozied around the cruisers and some other things (what also didn't help was nothing had price tags on it, I had asked where I could find the price and the man by the door just said "if your curious you can just ask"). Tried to start a conversation with the other "Salesmen" to the left stating again what I was in for and it seemed he was making more money of his phone. The only person who actually talked to me somewhat was the gear person in the back and once again I stated why I was there and just got a "oh yea we have a good selection". From what I believe to be the manager never left the office the full 30-45 min I was there so I suggest definitely not the place to go for first timers or anyone really looking for a dealership experience. read more

I'd give this place no stars if I could. We purchased a 2019 Kawasaki Mule and it was delivered in January or 2020. We also purchased the plow and salt spreader accessories as well. Two weeks after it was delivered, the plow motor seized up. I also noticed that they ran the main wire bundle across the drive shaft and that there were numerous nuts and bolts that were only finger tight. It was literally lying on the shaft itself. We called them to have it picked up and serviced. Apparently they didn't have someone to come pick it up and asked us to drop it off. After we told them that it wasn't our responsibility to return the vehicle they finally sent out the father of someone who worked there. After a couple of days we called to check on the repair. They told us that it was working and that they couldn't find and issues with it. They dropped it off and we were back in business, or so we thought. They never entered the "service" into their system. So it currently appears that they never logged the work nor did they bother to reroute the wiring as was requested. Roll forward to now (2/19/2021) We we're having issues with the unit starting or staying running. So we called them and explained the issue. They asked us to drop it off and that they would take a look at it. Later in the day, they contacted us and said that they had replaced the battery because the battery was bad. We took them at their word. They're supposed to be the "professionals". After this and during the use of this unit the main power wire (that was never rerouted) shorted out on the drive shaft because the insulation was worn through and damn near caught the unit on fire. They never even tried to diagnose the problem. Just said it was a battery issue. Called to have them correct the issue they caused only for them to tell us that they would need us to drop it off again. we told them that wasn't possible and frankly, shouldn't be our responsibility since it's their service that has caused these issues. Eventually they did send someone out (he took his lunch and came out to do the repair) and it was fixed, if that's what you want to call it. Once this place gets your money, they couldn't care less about your issues or problems. Honestly, teeth on an asshole are more useful than this place. When we arrived, we stood in the middle of the showroom and no one waited on us for several minutes until I asked someone coming out of the back room if we could get waited on. When the salesman finally arrived, I found out your website inventory is a lie{we just checked it before leaving our home) and you "might be getting some in a couple of weeks". Strange experience with this dealership. They've been advertising a bike for several weeks on their website, craigslist, and cycletrader. I went in on a Saturday to look at it, and it wasn't there. I spent about 20 minutes walking around without any luck and without any offers for help. I emailed them and asked if the bike was still available. After several back and forths, I found out that the bike is at a warehouse somewhere else. The only way I could see it is if I came back, put down a deposit, and then they would bring it to the dealership later and I could come back and see it. This might not be the norm, but it seemed really strange that they make it so difficult to see a bike. read more

I walked in there this past Saturday with the intention of buying a new 22 ninja 650. no greet no nothing as I walked around for 55 minutes asking questions and getting no where, the guys in the back in the accessory part they were helpful and friendly but not who I needed to talk to to find out about what I was there for. finally when Johnny started walking around (he had been told my name and that I was waiting) walked around asked a few other people who had just shown up if they needed anything and didn't bother coming to me knowing I was waiting. finally after getting his attention briefly I got interrupted by the phone for 10 minutes then I had to go find him again cause he didn't come back. again I started to try to explain what I wanted and again got interrupted by the phone. again I had to find him and walked to his desk he sat there and he acted like he had no clue why I was at his desk. after I finally was able to talk about why I was here wasting my entire Saturday afternoon he then basically was rude and insulted my intelligence and kept playing in his phone. I finally said do I have your attention or not and do you want to make a sale or not. that kinda froze him up a little bit but still he was very much a d*clans I ended up just walking out. I was not going to actually take more time to leave a review like this but after seeing how just abs bad all the other reviews were from this place, I just hope that whoever owns this place either enforces some sort of training or disciplinary action for this guy or just shut your doors now. cause that's not how you reward the people in the community that literally pay for you to keep the place open and food on your tables. Purchased a Yamaha Xmax 300 scooter from Freeride this week. It was something they didn't have in stock but that was hardly an issue. It was immediately ordered and I had the bike in a bout a week, and could have got it sooner if I had the time. Make sure you see Rob Stancev if you go there. He's knowledgable and great at communicating and immediately returns calls, emails and texts. Also their service department is great. I haven't had this scooter in for anything yet, but my last bike has been there for service. I was also able to order a cover for my scooter and got a discount since I purchased the bike there. The facility was clean (new store), the showroom was stocked with a great diverse selection, the staff were super friendly, competent and very knowledgeable. DO NOT GO HERE! Read the rest of this. It is VERY telling of this business. In September of 2018 I purchased a 1985 Honda Spree and a month and a half later the scooter presented some problems: slowing down and not starting right away. I took it here to get it checked out and fixed. I brought it to them in November. Weeks go by and I figure it's taking a while to get the parts. Then a couple months go by and I check in--they've ordered the wrong parts and then FORGOT about the scooter. They said they'd fix it. It is now the end of the school year and I need to get rid of the scooter so I ask them what the status is on the scooter. Guess what? It hasn't been fixed and the right parts haven't been ordered. Luckily someone offered to buy it in it's broken state for half the price I bought it for. I show up to Free Ride today and am told to pay the 240 dollars for the "labor and parts" for the scooter. I asked why I had to pay for repairs that hadn't happened and parts that weren't ordered and Rick (the dumba** owner) told me that they put TEN TO FIFTEEN HOURS of work into this thing. They had it for FIVE MONTHS and they only put TEN hours of work into it, bought the wrong parts, and didn't even fix it. The words I would use to describe these people and this business are not appropriate enough for this website. These people are absolute idiots and Rick even told me today "at some point of working on it you just give up." ARE YOU KIDDING!? TELL THE CUSTOMER YOU GAVE UP YOU LOSER! I brought in a Harley Davidson xg750 after dumping it from squeezing the clutch and getting a brake like effect instead of coasting while on a turn. I tried to explain about this problem because it happened before (the brake like effect) but they refused to listen. After picking up the bike, and waiting for the motor to unflood, I tried to start it again and got nothing. It wouldn't move, it was siezed up. It stayed like that for about 10 -15 minutes, then I was able to move it by pushing it with my feet. I started it and put it in gear and squeezed the throttle but it wouldn't go. I ended up pushing it back to my house. When I had it towed in yesterday, they held me responsible for everything. While looking the bike over they discovered that the clutch lever was the wrong one for this bike, then accused me of switching it out! I was shocked! Why would I do something like that? They still have the bike but I hope they install the right clutch lever and not try to charge me for it. Apparently, they didn't look the bike over as well as they should have when it was brought in by the original owner. But leaving the wrong clutch lever on is only going to be the source of other problems and I don't want them to put the right one on and try to charge me for it. Dropped a moped off for what turned out to be a dirty carborator and fuel line. Took them 9 business days to even look at it. Then another 3 business days to actually fix it. $470 dollars and almost 3 weeks later I finally got it. Oh did I mention that they told me it was going to be around 375 for the work. One of the mechanics actually yelled at me on the phone when I used what he said was the wrong word. I asked how much a 'spring tune up' would be and he started yelling at me asking me 'well, what's wrong with it?! A tune up means there must be something wrong with it!! We don't use that word!! WE CALL IT 'spring service'!! He got extremely heated over that for some reason and also kept cutting me off when I was trying to ask questions. It was a terrible experience. There were four employees on the sales floor and no other customers besides my wife and I. Not one of them greeted us or took the time to acknowledge our presence. I have to say this in one of the worst places around. I found what I wanted, went in first thing at 10 when they opened. Took at least 10 minutes before we could get someone to talk to us. They were playing around while putting items out on the lot. Anyways didn't have what their inventory said they had in stock. He said it was in the warehouse & he could get it in a couple days. NEVER- mind you did he EVER ask for a down payment to hold the item for us. WHICH we had cash to buy it out right. He said he would call in a couple days to let us know when it was in. He never called so we called. Were then told someone came in before us & had already put a down payment on the item we wanted. HOW did that happen when he wrote everything in a book? AND why weren't we told of it when we were there then, instead of *I will get the item in, in a couple days for YOU*? The worse place to EVER try to buy an item from. Rob was not helpful & surely doesn't REMEMBER what he is doing or WHAT he should BE doing. I tried to get a hold of the manager so I could let him know what was going on but it seems HE is always in a *conference* or that's just what they tell you so he doesn't find out what a JOKE the sales people are. I would not recommend taking a can am to them. I have had my can am there 6 times total. My can am kept going into limp mode. 1st time they reconnected a emergency brake cable and cleared the computer.they had it a few days. Charged me fot 1 hr of service. We started home and it was doing the same thing. We live an hr from there and were half way home.Took it back, they cleared the computer again and said it should be fine. Went to take it home, got 20 miles from there and the same thing happened, so they said it must have air in the brake line and needed drained and flushed. Okkkk another week and they charge 2 hrs of service. 99.00 at an hr plus takes n whatever else Total over 200. Drive it home and same thing. I called n i said i want my money back, nope didnt happen. They apologized n said bring it back to us, if you take it somewhere else you will have to just start over. They said it must be the brake sensor. They said it was 37. For the part and would only charge me for half hour labor. Made an appt for 10am to bring it in. Took it in waited there over 1 1/2 hour and then I see Rick who was working on it, woring on a tire so i go in and asked if my can am was done. I was told he is working on it. I said i just seen him working on a tire. The cashier said oh he was just putting air in it. No he was changing rims and who knows what all.i said he still cant b working on my can am if he is working on a tire. Then rick calls us back shows us the part and says its going to take another 2 hrs. We said we were quoted half hr service fee. He said sorry but. So we qent to the manager of freeride. He was very unfriendly or understanding. I told him we live on fixed income. We r both retired. We said we r only paying what we were quoted at. Well guess what.
