    Chicken Grilled Burrito Dinner
    Terry O.

Ordered on DoorDash. The food came quickly and was delicious. I ordered a chicken burrito dinner with grilled onions and green peppers, a side of guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, beans and rice. It was enough for two meals. The rice and frijoles with a bit of cheese were standard but very good. The burrito was great, not like anything I've had. It started out tasting a tiny bit sweet, but that flavor ended hitting the spot. It came with small pots of spicy red sauce, pico, guac and sour cream which enhanced the flavor. The burrito was not topped with cheese as so many are, and I think that helped since there was no overwhelming cheese. flavor. Now I think an in- person visit is in my future.

The whole restaurant has a real authentic Mission feel to it, like stepping back in time. Mariachi music is playing. We were greeted right away with a friendly host . We got the Asada chimichanga, warm beef and queso dip , thick crunchy corn chips and a chimichanga . The service was friendly and fast, and the food was very delicious. Especially that dip! To enter, it's in back in the parking lot. Go up the stairs to the upper level where the dining rooms are.

Excellent Mexican food with a nice variety on the menu. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, private parking lot. Traditional Mexican music playing in the background and nice atmosphere with Mariachi bands on the weekends. Excellent Presidente margaritas!

The food is good most of the time but very inconsistent. I eat here a few times a month. A few years back a new owner took over and put their own touch on the business. It is a lot cleaner and they've added some menu items. Overall, good changes. I think the new owner has done a lot of good for the place but the staff is always new. We used to walk in and the staff actually knew who we are and what we ordered. When taking our order, they would ask if we are getting the usual or trying something new. That is the one change I don't care for.

Went to Howard's for the first time. I've heard mixed reviews but wanted to try it for myself. Have to say I was disappointed. Service was great and friendly so that was not a issue. Our drinks we ordered were good as well. I has a michelada. For me it was the food. Plain and simple. None of our food was even hot. Nobody likes luke warm enchiladas. And my tacos were almost cold. For the enchiladas I guess you had to grow up liking that brown gravy style. Not really my thing. Both Salsa's I tried had great flavor but the Queso dip was grainy . No thanks. Well sad to say one and done.

Nachos were awesome my wife ate them all ... attacked them like the gremlins attacked chicken after midnight ... been awhile glad I came

It's super cute inside, with so many bright colors, neat Día de los Muertos murals along the walls, colorful pendants strung on top of the dining area, and a very cool bar with a patterned, arched shelves. Even the dishes and cups are fabulous, with earthenware mugs, blue Talavera style dishes and bowls, and even branded El Milagro margarita glasses. Now more importantly, the FOOD is just as good as the decor and the dishware. They use extra high quality ingredients, and everything is always served hot and fresh. We have had the birria, nachos, street tacos, flautas, and so many other things when we branch out and try something new. Their drink options are also great, with strong margaritas, crisp cervesas, and tasty cocktails. The service is always fantastic, and they are always hopping with customers, so you know you found a good spot. Best of all, you get pretty large portions, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg like some of the newer Mexican restaurants in town. Next time you're thinking about heading to the Texas Roadhouse area, skip the Roadhouse and try El Milagro instead! I guarantee you will not regret your decision.

However, unlike other Mexican restaurants you do have to pay for additional salsa. I went with a house margarita and the benveza beer, and both were good and cold. I went with the steak picaditas. I hadn't had them before but they were similar to a torta, except the base is a very thick corn tortilla. I like the flavor of the steak, tortilla, sour cream and veggies combined. My husband got the birria platter and liked it. It's very similar to Javi's birria. Overall everything was good.

The tacos I had were very warm and very filling, I was able to take some home for lunch the next day. The Cantarita was ok, seemed like it wasn't something that is usually made and it seemed more like it came in a bowl than the typical dish ware. The servers were very friendly and was able to help out when we had questions. The place itself was very well decorated and didn't seem cluttered. They have a lot of metallic art so that was pretty cool.

This last visit they had the entire restaurant decorated for Valentine's Day coming up. But, besides the additional decorations the overall vibe is what you would expect for a Mexican restaurant but more. The service has been friendly and fast! The original Margarita is very good and for the price its about 3 servings. The complementary chips & salsa is great and more of a forgotten service nowadays, but great to see that Alegre is still doing it. The homemade tortilla chips are so good so be careful to not fill up on these before the main entrees. Kendra got the Chile Verde which was massive and was enough food for leftovers the next day. And, I had the Ceviche Sampler which is new and definitely worth every penny! It's hard to find restaurants that have ceviche on the menu, but this has been one of my favorites if you love seafood and a repeater for me! If your looking for more of an upscale $$ Mexican restaurant with great food, service and ambiance it's hard to beat El Muchacho Alegre.

The place is very large and open, so you don't feel like you're walking on top of others and can have conversations without feeling like you need to yell to be heard or whisper to not be overheard. Their chips and salsa were delicious. Salsa is house made and the chips are fried to order. You get a first basket for free, but the second we had to pay for- be aware. Their tacos are amazing. I had three street tacos and then two basic hard and soft tacos. I started with the basics, and was very impressed. The meat was nice and flavorful and somehow seemed....soft? I was initially bummed looking at them because I thought "just lettuce and meat?" But there's some fantastic cheese hidden under the lettuce. The shells were the perfect soft and a crunch. I would love to just have a few of these for the meal and be good! I had the three street tacos- steak, pastor, and carnitas. I was pleased with all three! They were flavorful, moist, and the shells were once again perfect. I very much enjoyed the steak and they had just the right amount of crisp with all of the flavor. You can tell that all of these were made fresh to order. Their house margs were wonderful. They weren't too sweet and you got more than you imagined. When we got the bill, it's noted that there's a discount if you pay with cash, but no added fee for paying with a card; so keep that in mind.
