Bad experience. I needed a copy of a key for my car and a worker gave me advice to try to "save me money" and told me to get the keys online and bring them in to cut and program. I did that and they confirmed it was the correct key and they proceeded to cut it but could NOT program it (even though they said it was the right key). The owner then sold me a part for almost 100 to make they key work but in the end not all the buttons worked after all. He said he would give me the old part back so I can get a refund for the key but once I got to the store he said he was only giving me the old part back but couldn't refund me for the part that he installed that didn't work correctly. All in all I ended up spending MORE than if I had just gotten the fob key from them in the first place (which I would've if the worker hadn't advised me to do otherwise). read more

Unbelievably poor customer service. Walked into the store just after 5:00pm on a weekday to get a battery car key FOB replaced, just to be told the store was closed. Politely protested that their own website noted 6:00pm closure and showed the (likely) manager as such on my phone. Received a sincere apology in reply, yet categorically refused to budge. Extremely unusual to say the least, but not the end of the world. Returned the following (week)day at 4:44pm. Another customer was already standing at the storefront looking quizzically inside. Door locked; no one inside; no note of explanation. Icing on the cake was the (non-OEM) FOB which I had purchased from Howard Lock & Key as a backup some months previously - the battery surprisingly was dead. In any event, took the FOB to a Batteries Plus store. The clerk happened to point out to me the poor soldering / assembly of the FOB. Strike Three. Very regrettable for Howard Lock & Key, as they lost both this customer and more importantly a realtor close friend who had up to this time had all his lease property re-keys done by them. read more

I have to say that locksmith Mor Vidal and the rest of the gang did a great job advising me on what to do with my sticky locks. They were very friendly. But they didn't try to convince me to buy a bunch of fancy new locks even though they appear to have a nice diverse selection of new locks. They were honest enough to offer me a rekeying solution. Locksmith Mor did an excellent job. He finished my first sticky lock with such skill and so quickly that I knew I had found a good locksmith. He sent me off to retrieve the other five locks that needed help and I ran off to change them out and quickly bring them back. When he was done all of my locks were turning as smooth as molasses, just beautiful! My wife is extremely pleased! Before locksmith Mor used to skill on them they were dirty and in horrible shape. I would gladly recommend the Howard safe and lock company to anyone and everyone. There's a lot to be said for good old-fashioned customer service. Needed a broken key replaced for my Matco toolbox. Call 3 places and sent pictures of broken key to said places only to be told they do not have them. Got in contact with owner and he looked at picture said to come in and see Mike his shop manager.
