    French toast

I can't even describe how amazing the French toast was! The flavors of every dish I've had there so far are beyond measure! They're so sweet and friendly, it's really like an extended kitchen outside of home!

What an amazing hole in the wall! Service was beyond incredible and the classic diner food is exactly what I was hoping for. Just no thrills 5 star classic breakfast. Cannot go wrong here. They will take care of you and you will leave happy and full. Plenty of parking, no wait, we will definitely be back. Hope we can keep this spot our little secret ;)

Let's start with it is really small and quaint. The owners are awesome, nice, and attentive. Like having a private chef. The menu is decent for the size of the place. They serve a full breakfast and lunch. My two colleagues and I sent for a late breakfast, and all chose breakfast as opposed to the lunch. All three of us ended up with pancakes, but different styles, all had two eggs (different styles), and I had bacon the others links. We all agreed it was really good and hit the spot. Our only knocks were that they have 1 more table than needed in the restaurant, which causes it to feel crowded.

Located this place on Yelp for breakfast and it didn't disappoint. Welcomed in the door, immediate drink order and arrival, and the friendliest service throughout the entire meal. Ordered the diced ham and eggs which came with a side of hash browns and toast. All of it was wonderful! (I would suggest putting the eggs and ham over the hash browns and smothering it all with gravy as a new dish on the menu. Just my crazy idea, but I think it would be a hit!) I left full having really enjoyed a great breakfast, and next time I want to try the Baconator cakes. Just didn't have room on this visit. Great little friendly breakfast place with great food and great service!

Loved this little hole-in-the-wall spot for breakfast! It's family-owned and run, and you can really feel the warm, welcoming vibe. Lots of regulars, which is always a good sign. We went for breakfast and had the French toast, sausage, eggs, and bacon. The French toast was a standout--super light and not too sweet, just perfect. The service was great too, really friendly and made us feel right at home. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Old style diner. A little small but the food was great. The sausage and mushroom omelette had a ton of flavor.

The restaurant has a bar-and-grill atmosphere, which makes sense given the brewery focus. It felt lively but still comfortable for a holiday dinner, and the menu offered several appealing choices both for the special and on the regular menu. We started with shrimp, which was cooked properly and had a good texture--firm and enjoyable without any rubbery or off-putting qualities. The French onion soup was a comforting course and fit the meal well. For the main, I ordered the burger, which was solid and satisfying. While not flashy, it was well prepared and enjoyable. A standout side was the sweet potato fries, which were exceptionally crisp with just the right amount of salt--easily some of the best I've had in a while. The dessert rounded out the meal nicely and completed the four-course experience. Nothing during the meal disappointed me; everything we had was good and well executed. Service was pleasant and professional. Our server was friendly and attentive, though the kitchen timing was a bit slow. We did notice that a few tables seated after us received their food sooner, but it wasn't enough to detract significantly from the overall experience. At $69 for a four-course Valentine's Day meal, the special felt like a good deal, offering variety and solid quality without feeling overpriced. Overall, Granite City delivered a comfortable, enjoyable holiday dinner with reliable food and good value.

Solid start. Then came my entrée, the Mediterranean chicken. And let me tell you... those tomatoes were not behaving. They tasted like they took a wrong turn on the way from the garden and picked up some strange personality along the way. They looked sad and faded like they'd just been told their vacation got canceled. The rest of the dish tried its best, but the tomatoes were such little troublemakers that the whole thing landed at a 5/10 for me. Not bad, not great, just "yeah... that happened." They took our order and they delivered our food just fine. Prompt. I think the ambiance is decent there, although it would be nice not to get seated in the middle of the room.

I received an extremely greasy chili dog (the bottom of the bun was stained orange as if it was literally just sitting in grease, I had to tear the entire bottoms off. The chili was COMPLETELY flavorless with a non meat like chew, thats really as far as I can explain that one. It was like there, but tasted and disintegrated as if it wasn't. As well as, everything generally just came out as if it had been sitting around, it was cold and a bit stale. I also ordered a "THE FARMER" from their breakfast menu, and though this was better and a little fresher, the potatoes were still cold and mostly uneatable. So, inna nutshell I haven't tried everything, but this isn't the first time a meal I've had from there came out subpar. Price to quality food ratio id have to rate it like a 2-3, the hotdog was 8 dollars and "the farmer" was around 13-14. With that in mind, to have points where I am genuinely STRUGGLING through my meal is crazy. I would have to rate my overall experience between a 3 - 4 outta 10. If you don't mind a cool store and a gamble check it out !

The interior is modern and inviting, with some fun wallpaper making a statement. We cozied up to the bar during this visit. I will say that bar was a bit sloppy during our visit...bartenders' water bottles cluttering the visible space, bartenders spilling our drinks a bit during delivery, and weird transitions of staff that were a bit distracting. The Espresso Martini was the best item I ordered! Well balanced and the addition of the cold foam really made for an enjoyable sip. Would absolutely return for that one! The bites we ordered had great flavor, but some fell a bit flat when trying to live up to their creative ideas. The Fried Pickles were the best food item: perfectly crispy medallions with two delicious dipping sauces. The "burnt ends" cauliflower are really just roasted cauliflower with BBQ sauce on top, missing out on the umami juiciness of their namesake. The Chips that came with the Dip were just ruffled potato chips, not housemade or interesting. Solid spot for happy hour if you're looking in the area!

Very reasonable for the quality and vibe. We ordered the cauliflower burnt ends, fried pickles, and chips & dip. Everything came out flavorful and fresh. Had a sister's brunch today and the celebrant sister chose Hope Breakfast Bar. Another sister and I were like darn, it was the choice lowest on the list for both of us. But on our drive there, we decided we'd both try something that we typically wouldn't try to see if it changed our views. I tried the breakfast sandwich. It was decent, not anything I'd ever crave. The bacon overpowered everything else, even the everything bagel! She did the egg farm grazer which was vegetables and quinoa topped with an egg. She said it was fine as well. Both of our meals were on par with previous experiences. Our two other sisters chose some sort of waffle. One was the hope waffle which was good, standard waffle with fruit. The other was chicken and waffles, the taste is decent but the portion was surprisingly large! 4 pieces of chicken with the waffle! As we finished with our meals, I was happy that we weren't disappointed with our food, so that was a win! But they watch your time so carefully. The moment we were sitting for 90 mins on the dot, they asked us to go. So if you're looking for a place to catch up with someone, don't let it be here!
