Bought a car from here. 3 months later transmission went out! HAD NO FLUID! They never checked fluid level! They didn't bother because to check it they had to go underneath the car with a special dip stick! so why bother right? just assume it's ok and sell it! They sell junk! Did not care to help with transmission. This dealership just wants their money and don't care about issues customers have thereafter. March 14th marks one year that I purchased a new vehicle. A 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross. Not from Houston Auto though. The reason........ I was getting scammed by a car salesman named Ray. I had bought a car a few years back from this dealership and was taken care of by Owner Gary Padilla. My credit wasn't that great but Gary managed to help me get a beautiful like new Hyundai Sonata at a Good interest rate considering my ok credit situation. Gary made the process of purchasing my Sonata easier than I expected. Fast forward 9 years... when Ray was helping me look for a new vehicle, he didn't seem very motivated. Gary was there but couldn't or wouldn't help me because he said he was getting ready to go on vacation and said Ray would take care of me. NOT!!! For three days I kept going back because every time I found a vehicle Ray seemed to have an issue with the bank. On one of the days I test drove a vehicle, I returned to find Ray had left to run an errand or get something to eat. Gary just waved it off and said" he'll be back ,you know how crazy it is around here. I waited for about 20 minutes or 1/2 hour can't remember. I was not too happy, but like a fool I waited. Ray returns without a care in the world attitude. I had been going after I got off work for those 3 days. The first few days after finding a few vehicles I wanted, I would have to chase Ray down and call him to ask what he found out about the loan situation. Each time he told me the bank wanted more money down. As it was, I was already going to put 3,000 down. The final straw was when I found a Beautiful Civic Honda I wanted and when I called Ray about the status of the loan, he said I could get the car but the bank wanted 6,000 dollars down. Later that day on my way to my car after work, I bumped into my friend and she asked me about the car situation. I vented to her about my ordeal and frustration and that's when she told me to go to Galles on University and talk to her friend Cippy Padilla. My mouth flew open because I know Cippy . He sold me a car years ago when my credit was really bad. He made it happen for me and I even paid off the car . I had been told Cippy was retired when I called the dealership because my car was totaled in an accident. Houston Auto and Gary Padilla were highly recommended when I asked around. On March 14th , Cippy Padilla made my new vehicle purchase happen in a matter of about 2 hours and didn't ask me for additional money for the down payment. The next day I drove off in my 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross SUV that only had 19,000 miles. Cippy went even above and beyond and had my rear windows tinted for me. So Glad I bumped into my friend Mary that week. While Cippy was processing the paper work for my new vehicle all of a sudden Ray from Houston Auto was blowing up my phone. I was always having to call him. I just ignored the calls. It was actually a Blessing that Ray was trying to scam me, because that time wasted at Houston Auto led me to the Best Person you can trust to do right by you when making a major purchase such as a new vehicle. A year later I am still angry about the way I was treated at Houston Auto that's why I am leaving this review now. I will Never do business with or recommend Houston Auto to anyone. This is a clear example of the trust current, and new customers have of this business. Gary and Jose made things happen and we finally settled on an amazing 2019 Kia Optima. My wife and I were searching for a very specific vehicle and checked several places from Albuquerque to Santa Fe with no luck. We noticed Houston Wholesale website had what we were looking for and decided to stop by. We had low expectations because of the stereotype of used car sales but when we walked in "Rojo" made us feel welcome, comfortable and like he knew us our entire lives. Absolutely zero pressure showing us the car and he explained the known history of the car. We left without buying that night and weren't treated like crap because of it. Many car dealers do change how they treat you when you decide not to buy. Well the next day we told him we were impressed with the car and more importantly the service. This was the most pain free car buying experience we've ever had. We've gone back a couple times since the purchase to get another key and the license plate and everyone there treats us like friends. Well, I have personally purchased one vehicle from this establishment. My father has purchased three and close family friends several more. We will NEVER be back to Houston Wholesale. You don't talk to customers however you feel because they're well informed. Your 2014 Raptor is not the "nicest one in the country". That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard considering it has sticker residue all over the hood and eBay lights bolted to the front and rear bumpers. The bobby pins in the door panels are a nice touch as well. I guess detailing vehicles is optional at Houston Wholesale. It is a nice truck aside from the cheap accessories, but far from the nicest in the country. I was wrong about one thing, there are not 14 within 200 miles, there are 16. As you mentioned earlier today Mr. Padilla, you may not "need my business". But you've lost more than just mine. You should familiarize yourself with sales 101; make one customer happy, they tell ten. Make one customer mad, they tell one hundred. Good day sir. read more
