I am very selective when I provide online feedback because of the value it offers others when deciding which company to hire. Beyond the fact people do not want to waste their money with an inept inspector they want to have confidence they are investing in a home that won't turn out to be a money pit. I first learned about Insight Inspections through my brother who had hired Nathan two years ago to inspect his home. He had heard about Insight (Nathan) via word-of-mouth from a close friend who had also used Insight's services. Based on his feedback as well as theirs it was an easy decision to hire Nathan once again when my parents made the grand decision to move from Washington back to Texas. Because they are currently out of state they were really nervous about moving forward with their initial offer until the inspection was completed. In my opinion that doubled the value of the inspection since it not only identified any deficiencies but also gave my parents a greater peace of mind they settled on the right house. I guess that could be said by anyone but they did not have the luxury of being present during the inspection, so they were limited in their opportunity for any Q&A sessions. Beyond Nathan's impressive understanding of codes and regulations, his friendly professional demeanor, and patience in checking/testing everything - here's what really stood out about him: his work ethic. Let me explain. I was unaware he was supposed to work a half-day the day my parent's inspection was scheduled, but he didn't mention that nor did it slow him down in being thorough. He endured my numerous questions (I was there on behalf of my folks) and provided an easy-to-understand summary at the end. At this point he is two hours past when he should have originally been off of work, yet he still volunteered to call my parents in WA and give them a direct rundown of what he had found and answer any questions THEY had. I requested an online quote for a home inspection through Insight's website on a Wednesday afternoon and received an email 45 minutes later from Ryan with a quote and availability. I called Friday morning and spoke to Ryan to schedule the appointment for 9am on Monday. Again, within minutes I received an email from Ryan with an appointment confirmation and invoice. On Sunday afternoon, Lucas called to confirm the appointment and go over the home inspection process with me. Lucas informed me that he usually arrives a few minutes earlier than the scheduled time and would go ahead and get started. I arrived at the house about 5-10 minutes before scheduled time and sure enough, Lucas was already there and had started just as he said he would! He took the time to introduce himself and explain what he had already done and how the rest of the inspection would go. He informed me that he would be ready for the walk through at around 11:30am. When the inspection was complete, Lucas explained everything to me that would be included in his report and walked me around the entire house inside and out to physically show me his findings/concerns which were very minor considering the house is only 5 years old. Lucas was very thorough and informed me that he would try to get the inspection report emailed to me before his next appointment at 3pm and if he was unable to then he would definitely have it emailed to me by the end of the day. We were done and left the house by noon. Lucas had the report emailed to me before 3pm! My entire experience with Insight Inspections was easy, positive, and effortless from beginning to end! Ryan and Lucas were both very professional and friendly and did a super fantastic job in helping me with this portion of the home buying experience. I could not have asked for anything more! My home inspection was scheduled with Nathan. He arrived at my house with a friendly smile and introduced himself. He came prepared to execute the job and he even brought his own towel to wipe his feet as it was raining and had been since the night before. I thought "wow- that was very considerate and respectful!!" He explained the process at the start of the inspection and throughout the visit. He welcomed my questions and delivered impeccable professionalism throughout the inspection. He was calm, approachable and friendly and made me feel so comfortable to have him in my home. He was knowledgeable when I asked questions and provided detailed explanations. As promised, he told me I would have the report the same day. Outstanding and thorough! Nate performed our home inspection and since the house was quite a bit older, We were nervous! Nate went to work and walked through every inch of the house, giving us insight on how things should work and how they were working! He educated us on every detail of the electrical panel, the plumbing, the fireplace, the water heater, the air conditioner lines and drip pans, the wiring, water spots, cracks in the brick, plumbing, and the list goes on! He used a special tool to test for water in the ceilings, walls, and under Windows. Our inspection report was delivered immediately! It was thorough and detailed with photos that showed and explained the concerns he identified. He was upbeat and open to our crazy questions and professionally answered everything without technical jargon making it easy to understand even the smallest details. My favorite part is at the end of our inspection, he walked through and summarized what he found. I highly recommend Luke and Insight Inspections to anyone that might want to have their house inspected. Luke showed up on-time and immediately got started. He was extremely professional and he came in to explain his detailed plan on what to expect with the inspection. I very much appreciated the detail that he provided on where he would start and finish in the house and how long the inspection was going to be. He said the entire process would take about 4 hours, which surprised me as I did not think there was that much to inspect. Luke inspected everything from the foundation to the roof, the deck, the weather stripping, the ceiling insulation, how efficient the air conditioner worked, the water heater, trees too close to the house, the driveway....you get the point. As he worked his way through the inspection, I noticed Luke taking a lot of notes. When he finished, we did a very thorough walk through the entire house, inside and outside. Luke pointed out even the minor things that he suggested could be fixed to prevent future problems. And, that is the beauty of having your house inspected by an established home Inspector. I just have to say that Nate did an AMAZING job on our home inspection. My husband and I are purchasing our first home and we had a lot of questions that we wanted to go over. This review is delayed since we had a lot of stuff to go through after the move. Some context, we moved into an new construction and we needed the inspection before our walk through. Insight Inspections managed to find an appropriate time even in short notice at a fair and affordable price. We had Lester doing our home inspection. He was great in answering questions and paying a lot of attention to different details. His findings helped us identify different things that were not completely taken care of by the builder. Doing the inspection before the walk through was a great idea as we were able to spent time on looking for things that were not OK compared to the learn and check that you would do in your walk through. The thermal scan revealed a couple of spots that needed some extra insulation on the roof (this by itself paid for the inspection) and other details like the microwave not working well. I am very satisfied with the inspection and the thorough report (delivered the same day, inspection was at 3 pm, report was delivered at 10 pm). If you are hesitating on doing an inspection because you are moving to a new construction, I can tell you that you should definitely do it and join the inspector, ask as much as you can and learn more about your new home. read more

If you need a good home inspector who cares about his clients, you can't go wrong with Scott! We found him a while back to do a phased inspection on a new home at the pre-drywall stage. I was very happy with Scott. He is very professional, courteous, helpful, informative, thorough, and treats you like family. He emails his full report within a few hours so we could get it to our builders quickly. His reports come full with pictures and details outlined in an organized layout. His fees are very good and offered a discount when we hired him again for a final home inspection before our final home walk through. He and his associate was very thorough and informative, helping us understand every part of our home, what to watch out for and how things work. Scott from Insight Inspections inspected my first home purchase (a new construction home). Even without having other inspection experience I am pretty certain that he is the best!! Scott's digital response time is very fast and irl he is extremely friendly and personable, he explained everything to me in a way that was easy to understand for a new homeowner. After he completed his inspection, Scott walked me around my home to go over everything in his report which he sent me in pdf form same-day. His report was very clear and had lots of pictures which was helpful for me to pass along to my builder. Using his thermal imaging technology he was able to verify that the insulation I added into my garage was installed. Although he had other appointments to attend to, I never felt rushed through the inspection appointment and he was very willing to answer additional home ownership questions that I had unrelated to the inspection. Despite the Thanksgiving holiday, Scott made the extra effort to make time on Black Friday to verify that construction had fixed all of his initial reports before I closed at 2 pm that day. My husband and I arrived toward the end of Lucas 2 hour inspection of our new construction home. Lucas is phenomenal!!!  He is knowledgeable , thorough , patient and gives the best advice!  We could tell immediately that he truly love his job!!! Lucas spent an additional hour walking our entire home with us , sharing each item inspected. He also explained each deficiency to us requiring immediate repair! Buying a home for the first time is an absolutely nerve wrecking experience. So many things to consider that you don't know about, especially when buying an older home. We're buying a home in San Antonio and while we tried to find an inspection company there to help us out, we couldn't find anyone decent! We decided to call Insight Inspection and now I would never use anyone different. They are located in Austin and were willing to travel down to San Antonio. If you live in Austin then you know the traffic situation. Nate was happy to take the drive down (on slightly short notice as well) and perform the most comprehensive inspection you'll ever see. My wife and I recently had our home inspection from Scott and Insight Inspections and couldn't have been happier with the experience. We really wanted to attend the inspection as we were purchasing an older home that needed a bit of work, and Scott was not only okay with it but encouraged our attendance during the process. I am so glad we decided to go with Scott and Insight Inspections after researching a few others for our end of first-year home warranty inspection. From the start to the end, Scott was super responsive from getting us a quote right away, to delivering his meticulous report the same night of the inspection (and on a Friday night too)! During the inspection, he was at our home for almost 3 hours going over any and all questions we had and taking pictures of all of his findings that he included in the report. We are first time home buyers so we had a lot of questions and we really appreciated how thorough he was in answering them, even giving us tips to think about ones we hadn't. Our inspection included the irrigation system and a thermal imaging scan to detect any leaks in AC and we're so glad he had that tool because it turned out our AC air vents had some blockage restricting air flow. He also used to work on the developer/construction side for 10 yrs so he has the unique vantage point of having been on the "other side" so to speak.
