Not at all cyclist friendly!
Decided to grab a coffee and some lunch here on a Saturday morning, I had my bike with me all loaded up for my cycle tour of France which I had pushed against the wall beside my table outside so as not to cause obstruction. The first waiter came out to take my order and explained that I the terrace gets busy I will have to move my bike, which I completely understand and agreed to.
A few minutes later a second, seemingly more senior member of staff came out and demanded that I move my bike (loaded with all my gear) to a public bike rack near, but still a good 10 ft from where I was sitting. When I explained that I didn't want to leave my personal belongings so far away from me he begrudgingly offered to bring my bike inside. He proceeded to drag my €800 bicycle indoors and, as i later discovered left it in the doorway.
I found this exceedingly rude and unhelpful. Anyone who has ever worked in customer service is aware of the day to day diversities you often face and that it is part of your job to accommodate your paying customers as best you can. However, this employee had absolutely so willingness to help out and instead adopted a ride and standoffish atttitude.
I had the bacon open sandwich. The bacon was very nice however my whole experience had already been tainted by the rudeness I had encountered. read more
