I delivered a rug to be cleaned. Turns out that they send them to the Twin Cities to be done by a sub-contractor there. I was given a three week timeline for completion. I received a random text message prior to the promised date; I called and they said it was an error on their part. On the date promised I went to pick it up and they said it would be another five and a half weeks. The place they sent it to didn't have it anymore (I called them), so I went back in and Hour Glass couldn't find the ticket up front in the folder, a box, or in the back room. After some more standing around being upset the agent looked over at a stack of rugs and saw it immediately. There are obviously some problems with their tracking systems. read more

Do a great job dry cleaning, but a terrible job communicating. Can not get my dry cleaning in the amount of time they tell you, and the phone number doesn't work half the time. And when you do get a hold of someone they always have to leave a note for the owner who they tell you will call back but never does. Can't get a straight answer on time of service. read more

I was so disappointed after picking up my wedding dress after paying the extra money to have it boxed nicely. One it was not boxed nicely my veil was literally just thrown on top. It was not in a nice shadow box like described. It was also not folded in a way you could view it at all without taking the whole dress out. I'm also not completly sure they even cleaned it because it literally had dog fur on it still. I had it cleaned once before the wedding and David's bridal had zero issues making sure it actually looked clean. For 375 $ I expected better very disappointing. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. They completely ruined my $3,000 wedding dress. I went to pick up my dress and found a huge hole in it when I got home. I messaged them and they offered to fix it. When I picked it up after it was "fixed", you could still clearly see the hole! Cheap patch job. I filled out the claim form to be reimbursed and was asked to leave the dress. I went in a few days later and was told that since I was suing them, I am not able to take my dress home as Cody thought I would ruin my dress and blame it on them. The manager then went to call Cody, she came back and said I could take my dress home. I got my cleaning fee refunded and left. First of all, I never said I would sue them. Cody said you can take us to small claims court if you want and I said I might. He said his lawyer will wait for my call. Second, what bride would ever ruin their wedding dress? Lastly, never, ever, ever, bring your wedding dress here. All the ladies are very nice, however Cody is a complete ass. He knows they are in the wrong and are trying to get off by "fixing" it. We have weekly used Hourglass cleaners for 3 months. They do an excellent job and go above and beyond the call of duty. Recently they left a tag on one of our items explaining they replaced a button free of charge. They also have a handy system that either texts or emails you when your clothes are ready for pick up. The bags they give you are high quality and hold up very well week after week. The drive-through after hours drop is super convenient. The staff are always friendly and attentive. Ended up also hanging up on me while I was trying to kindly talk to them. They ended up mocking me while they were still on the phone with me. So I could hear every word they said. Went in for a service that is listed as taking 1-2 days on their website. They informed me it would be about a week and a half. It wasn't ready in that timeframe, but they said it would only take 2 more days. I called twice a week to check in and 5 weeks later it was finally ready. There were lots of excuses for the delays. I'm fairly reasonable but having my things for over a month is a concern. The owner could not take responsibility, indicated that the day I picked up my order was the first he had heard of my issues (I had spoken to him the first week my stuff wasn't ready but he must have forgotten), and expressed that his staff were bad at communicating and he would be letting people go. If you own a business, you're responsible for operations and managing communication. You trained them. Maybe they'll get better, but this ownership is not what hourglass used to be. He did not require payment for my order due to my troubles and offered a 50$ credit, which is nice, but I likely will not return due to the hassle this experience was. read more

We needed my son's suit cleaned for an upcoming interview and we choose Hour Glass Cleaners due to its high rating and quick turnaround. We dropped off the suit Saturday morning and they cleaned it in one hour! The staff was really friendly and my wife was impressed how clean the store and windows were. After running some errands we picked up the suit a little over an hour after we dropped it off. It was ready when we arrived cleaned and pressed as promised. REVISION: I went to speak with a manager and she was awesome. She refunded the different in price, and apologized that they didn't let me know about the price difference. She also said that some small shirts can fit on the machine which means I would be charged 2.50 instead of 6.99. I still find it odd - I've never had to pay to have my small men's shirts hand pressed. Additionally, if women's shirts all have to be hand pressed, that is a bummer price-wise. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I think it's probably a really great place to get your stuff dry cleaned. However, this was my first time using Hour Glass, and after checking the rates online for men's shirts ($2.50) I dropped off 9 shirts to be laundered/pressed. When I picked up my shirts, the total was $71 - the price for size small dress shirts is more than twice what is listed online. The did not tell me this when I dropped off 9 shirts. I have never in my life paid this much and I've been getting things pressed for over 20 years and have lived in 4 different cities in the past 10 years. I am going to speak with the manager on Monday, but this price difference (especially because it is so significant) should be discussed with customers. read more
