So I had three bids done, and this guy from Anoka was the best. He wasn't the cheapest, but he explained why...he used the best fan system (and put it in the best place for my needs). There is a huge difference between putting a fan near my well-used patio where I would hear it all the time (and putting it in a better, more out-of-the-way place by the garbage can...where we don't hang out). And there is a difference between putting the hole in the center of the basement (as opposed to just putting the hole where it is convenient for the installer). And, of course, using a good fan. I knew nothing about radon, but this guy (Jesse), does. And here is the good part of the story. Tonight, TWO YEARS later, on a Sunday night, I notice that the fan isn't running (but I had noticed it was running a couple weeks ago). So I look at the indicator, and the indicator says zero. There is a small sign telling me that if the indicator is zero, I should call the company (Jesse), and so I did. Jesse takes the call and talks me thorough the problem (the. outdoor circuit breaker on the outlet was tripped...I just had to push a button). This was no big deal for Jesse (because it was a simple fix), but it was a HUGE deal to me. I have a need for safety, security, and not futzing around with things, so I felt a pit in my stomach when I had found. that there was a problem...but boom, I called the number next to the indicator, Jesse walked me through it, and now I just feel a great sense of relief and can get on with my life, like normal. My basement flooded at the end of June and it is still torn apart. I had to reach out to get the original pictures and mitigation report sent to my insurance company as it was September and they had not received it. No one followed up with me after I called, but it was sent so I guess there's that. I requested a different contractor and instead the company had the same one call. Andrew's message said "I hear you're looking for a contractor, if that's true you can call me back". To be honest, next time I will probably use a different company. Maybe they've changed ownership...if that's true, it really shows.

I had research quite a bit on spray foam and set out to get several quotes. United Spray was not the cheapest of the quotes I had received; however, the quality of product they use far surpasses that of any other of the other vendors I was considering. A few of the individuals I set out to discuss with was not up to par on any professional manner. Adrian and is 2 man crew live about 150mi from my location and went beyond their normal servicing area to fill my job. The job took about 3hrs to do and I had requested 3" deep to cover the entire area. They used depth gauges to ensure that I was getting enough and they were not losing product costs. I do not recall the brand of spray that was used, it was a 2lb type, light grayish in color and offers no smell once everything is dry. They use all professional tools and have their own generators for spraying. The job is very messy and even more so crawling around on dirt and gravel under a trailer. Their service was professional and detail oriented, and no doubt deserving full stars. There was one area that was missed (easily overlooked), instead of running for the hills he had made a secondary trip to touch of that area immediately once it was discovered.. To anyone that may read this and live within their servicing area, if you find yourself in question on who to choose, you may spend a few extra dollars with United Spray but I guarantee you will not get the service, quality product, and professionalism that United Spray offers.

So I called 911 Restoration and spoke with Zach. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made me feel like my issue will be solved (and I find reassurance to be invaluable). Within 30 minutes, he sent Todd and Tony and they were at my door. They measured the moisture and provided their expert opinion (even if their opinion wasn't the most lucrative one for the business which was a level of honesty often unmatched by other companies) and were on their way with no charge since they offered the free assessment/inspection and determined nothing was needed. They of course had given the option for the abundance of caution of using their services to make sure everything was perfectly dry but I didn't feel that was necessary. Overall, their honesty, friendliness, and reassurance will earn my return business even though I didn't need any services beyond the free inspection in this case. I'm very impressed and really admirable of their work considering I was a bit stressed with the chaos of the flood and they didn't add to that rather they decreased it.
