I had the misfortune of a tree falling through my roof just before Thanksgiving 2016. My insurance…read moreagent highly recommended ProTech so I called them with confidence. I had tarped the roof and consulted with the project manager who advised emergency remediation, and they came quickly to "double-check" and reinforce my tarp work so that water would not pour in. So far so good. Given the Thanksgiving holiday, they were not able to begin work until a couple weeks out, and I was accommodating. Then in early December we had a snap of VERY cold weather, and ProTech advised it was too cold to work. Again, I was accommodating. Then it was the Christmas holidays... then it was New Years... then it was "too cold" again... Soon it was approaching March of 2017 and little progress had been made on repairing my roof. Contact with the project manager became more sporadic. Ultimately it was well into spring before work was underway, and then it was very slow. One day, they came and FINALLY undertook the work - though I was not at home and had little notice (which was fine enough). However, the project manager said there was more damage, roof trusses had to be replaced, etc. and increased the damage estimate substantially. I didn't have issue with this per se, but I asked the project manager to share pictures and a details list of the additional work so that I had this documentation for my records. I never received any of this information. While the bulk of the work was completed (the roofing and "truss repair") almost a YEAR LATER, the additional work to replace the rainspouts and fascia trim and finish painting went uncompleted for months. My project manager was MIA. Several months later, the finish tasks were "completed" but sloppily. When they painted, they had used the wrong colour paint. This was partly my fault, as I had left the leftover paint for them from the original homeowner; however, when they painted, then splashed broad swaths of the wrong colour paint on the siding - work that was not even part of the repair - and I couldn't fathom why they felt compelled to do this. Eventually we got the right colour paint and this part of the task was completed. But the rainspouts were replaced with substandard quality workmanship, and after a few conversations with the new project manager (apparently my original PM had been terminated for failing to keep up with projects), I felt so tired of dealing with them that I just wanted them gone. It had been over a year at this point. I received an invoice that included several hundred dollars for "debris removal", and I questioned this charge because I still have a pile of roofing and boards with nails sticking out on the side of my house. I wrote a letter to the project manager asking for an adjustment to the invoice in good faith. This request was not acknowledged and they happily charged the full amount for what I felt was substandard and incomplete work. I strongly recommended to my insurance company to never recommend them again (and they took them off of their providers list), and I will do the same to advise against ProTech to anyone who asks.

Crooks in my opinion. Sales guy lied, told me Aluminium siding wasn't made anymore so I had to go…read morevinyl. Told me I would only be responsible for my insurance deductible. At final insurance review, the claim adjuster said they did things they didn't have to and the sale guy said it was required and would send the information to the insurance guy. He never sent the information to the insurance guy and the deadline for the claim came and neither I or the insurance adjuster heard from Protech. I thought about suing them when I found out I had a right to Aluminium siding but didn't at the time. Almost 6 months AFTER the claim was paid and closed, they sent me an invoice, Do NOT use this company. I am hiring an attorney and won't be shocked if it turns into a class action suit as I am sure others have been scammed by them

My tips for dealing with this company: 1. Get quotes from other companies to make sure you are…read moregetting a fair price 2. Don't pay the full amount until they get the job done 3. Constantly follow up with them otherwise you will be forgotten about. Waited patiently 3 months for them to complete a job (got part of it done, made mistake of paying before it was done. My bad wont happen again) Also will not use in future. Did good when they got a job done. Don't also normally leave bad reviews but I gave them ample chance to fix this and didn't seem to really take me seriously. I had contractors come in at a lower price that would do compareable work. They tried to give me the song and dance that virtual no one does as good of work as they do, and I hate to break it to you but that simply is not true. You need to keep your prices competitive, especially in a market where people talk. The second time I used them ( first go around got an awesome deal on roof and gutters) they were asking 3,000 more than anyone else. I promptly told them that I decided that I am going to go with someone more affordable after getting better quotes and they came down "by using rebates", but still $600 more then my highest bidder saying that the other guys basically didn't know how to add up supplies and they were the only ones that could get it done in 2 days ( also not true). They promised to do the shed (never happened, should have been done then now they are telling me they can't because might be frozen to ground, had some beautiful days this week shed would not be frozen to ground, no call. I am now going to have to have my husband and step dad do it even though I feel I paid extra since it was in fact written the contract even though now they are saying they were doing me a favor). I contacted them this weekend simply asking when they were going to do this (3 months later) and basically was told to go lie by my dish. welp that was a mistake to tell your customer who has let you do not one but 2 roofs. Only giving 3 stars because I think they did a good job...when they did the job. Honestly, first don't use your personal cell phone as your work phone. I sent a text because I was not expecting an answer right away and you dont answer email well. I just needed to know when you could complete the job. Now you lost a customer because of poor customer service. Really too bad.

Initially, I contracted with Tom and his company to install gutters on my house; however, at about…read morethe same time my gutters were being installed my new roof started leaking. Of course, the guy who installed the roof denied any fault and then blamed me for picking a tar-based flat-top roof as opposed to the rubber roof that he insisted on....trouble is...he never recommended the rubber roof and didn't return any of my calls after that...buckets were collecting spring rain in my attic. If you want his name just let me know....anyways....Tom came out right away looked at my roof and instantly knew that the flat-top was installed incorrectly. He was able to show me how my original contractor installed it on a completely flat service and that the installation instructions state that it needs to be installed at a small slant. Tom informed me if he simply used a piece of ply board to create a small slant there would not be any water sitting on top of my roof working its way slowly into the house. Tom made my roof a priority and had his crew fix it immediately. He gave me a good deal based on me being a previous customer and probably because he knew I was bitter about the whole thing and needed a smile. I have nothing but praise for this company. I feel a bit guilty about not writing this review sooner. It's been a few years since he fixed my roof and installed my gutters. Both are working great. If you want a job done right, these are the guys to call.
