From the small back deck you can look over this town all the way to the high cliffs that drop into the ocean, creating picturesque views of the orange, red and pink sunset. We arrived to a small sign personally welcoming us. Niall and Darra treated us like family while we stayed at their house and even dined at their table. They were personally acquainted with the entire area and gave us honest recommendations for spending our days there. We were able to see the Cliffs without crowds because of their directions. We then had the perfect dinner of local food at Roadford House where we walked along stonewalls past cows, horses, and sheep to the intimate dining room overlooking pastures. We ended the night by enjoying local music at O'Connor's Pub just a minute walk from the Sea View. We would highly recommend staying at the Sea View for at least a few nights on your trip to Ireland. Thanks again Darra and Niall, Ryan and Cristina

The rooms (we stayed in more than one), the food, the hospitality and the views were all just perfect. If we could give them more stars, we would. We are looking into flights to go back and I had to look up this amazing B&B because we will absolutely be making a reservation on our upcoming trip! We were so engrossed and enamored in our first experience in Ireland, and neither of us did reviews, but I feel like I need to say WE ADORE SEA VIEW HOUSE!! We are very much looking forward to another visit!!

We only stayed here one night, though. I really want to give this hotel 5 stars, but I'm torn. At about 9:30 pm, after taking a shower, my son was charging his Chromebook. All of a sudden, the fan shuts off, and both of our outlets are no longer working. There was no red light alerting us to a tripped outlet. My son rings the bell (which is what we were told to do in case of an emergency after hours), and no one came. After talking to our other family members, I learned that my parents' room also no longer has power. Now this is a huge problem, because he uses a CPAP machine, and he would not be able to use it without electricity. I also called the phone number on the list of instructions, and it did not connect me. I had other family members try this, and they also could not connect. We had no electricity for chargers and no fan. It was super hot in the room, even with the windows open. We ended up getting power about 6 am, but the fact remains that we were unable to contact anyone that night. On a better note, their complimentary breakfast was gorgeous and delicious. Eddie, our server, was wonderful. I would probably skip this hotel if I'm in the area again, but I don't regret staying here. I just wish we were able to have contacted someone that night and then we would have had a better night.

We were on tiny roads, nearly in the middle of nowhere. My husband spotted the sign "Trump International". We had no idea that it was out there. We turned around to check it out. As we entered the property we came to a little gate house. A nice looking man, came out to greet us. He asked if we were checking in. We told him we were just driving by. I was holding my breath, I thought he might tell us to turn around. To our absolute delight he smiled his fantastic smiled and said with a bit of a giggle "Just wanted to have a look see?" We said yes, that we just wanted to see it. He told us where to park and encouraged us to go upstairs to the restaurant "at least have a coffee while you're here". We looked about the incredibly maintained grounds. Checked out the back of the property. Looked over the pro shop. Then went upstairs to the restaurant bar. The bartender was VERY professional but also kind. When I asked him sheepishly if I could keep one of the little cloth coasters, he said sure and "take this too" as he tossed me a pen. We went back to the pro shop looking for a sweatshirt. The extremely gracious employee in the shop told me that they'd be in the gift shop. He said it was closed. He made a call and said "she's opening it up". Then he walked us through the property to take us to the gift shop. I love my sweatshirt. What a fabulous little surprise on our adventure.

We would party all night long and get up in the morning and hop a bus to the next city. We found ourselves in Doolin on Sunday. We were a tad worried when we arrived because we didn't realize how small Doolin is, or that things would be closed because it was the off-season. We drug our luggage to the first and only B&B that had a "vacancy" sign. Turned out to be the best decision we made all week. We rudely knocked on the door hours before normal check-in time. Joan Reilly warmly greeted us and offered us a room without batting an eye. The house is small, quiet, beautiful, and immaculately kept. After we got settled, she even drove us to the Cliffs of Moher, which is only a few miles away. She also recommended we go to O'Connor's pub that night, just a short walk down the road. We had a blast there, eating and drinking and listening to music all night. The next morning, Martin graciously got up extra early to cook us breakfast so we could catch the bus. He even gave us a ride to the bus stop. The Reilly's embody the Irish hospitality that I'd heard about for so many years. Many thanks to them for sharing their home with us!

He's also a wealth of knowledge on places to see and things to do (throughout Ireland, as well as in the nearby area). He was a bit sheepish when greeting us. The entire town of Doolin (and the neighboring tiny towns) basically take February off. And Martin had forgotten to turn off his online booking.com tool, so we'd been a surprise when we booked a night with only two days notice. But he said we were most welcome and definitely treated us as such. The B&B is lovely. Ample parking out front. Gorgeous views in all directions. A short 3 minute walk into "town" which has about 8 stores and several pubs and restaurants. (Again, in the off season, only one building was open. Fitzpatrick pub, which was great. But I imagine during the other seasons, things are quite lively). Bring a flashlight, as there isn't much street lighting for wandering to/from the pubs at night. Our room was clean and comfortable, with en-suite bathroom. The breakfast options are a nice variety. My pal loved her pan-fried mackerel and my veggie omelette was a fluffy and delicious start to our day. Martin gave us ideas of places to see along our next route to Adare. Our whole stay in Doolin was great.

The event space was beautiful. We were blown away by the food at dinner the evening before and at the wedding reception. Our friends are still talking about the risotto, beef Wellington and the fillet. It's rare to experience fine dining at an event, but that's exactly what was provided for us. Our family has traveled extensively. We can happily report that Dromoland is the best overall experience that we have ever had in a hotel. The castle and grounds are gorgeous and meticulously maintained. Most historic hotels have fusty guest rooms. Dromoland had modern, luxurious rooms with state of the art fittings. Everything in the rooms was great, but the beds and showers were world class. Our guests were raving about their accommodations. The common areas were fun to spend time in. The live music was a treat. The food at the castle is by far the best food we had in Ireland. It would hold its own against any fine dining establishment. The bride and groom had an amazing dinner in the Earl of Thomond restaurant. I had the best fish and chips of my life in the Gallery and was pleased to quaff my first pint of Guinness in Ireland at the cocktail bar. Breakfast was an event in itself. The food and service were amazing. We commandeered a large table and spent a couple of hours every morning with a rotating cast of family and friends. The excellent staff took it all in stride. The activities were great- my family was captivated by the falconry. Jane's hotel tour was a lot of fun. One friend played an enjoyable round of golf and our kids tried skeet shooting- all were very happy. Many of us had excursions organized by Dromoland. The drivers were courteous and knowledgeable. The thing that sets Dromoland apart from every other hotel that we have ever stayed at is the level of service. The staff are charming and amazingly helpful. They often anticipated our needs. The attention to detail was awesome. The rooms and common areas were meticulously clean. Turndown service was lovely. The housekeeping staff would even tidy up chargers and cords when they made their rounds. The wedding and our extended stay at Dromoland was a peak experience for our family and friends. We can't recommend the castle highly enough. We should have stayed a few more days just to relax.

The rooms felt older but were comfortable enough, tho it was difficult to get to the room to a comfortable temperature with their older thermostat. Beds and linens were fine but not spectacular. We were woken up early the next morning by a staff member outside our window cleaning up glass bottles, which made a lot of noise. Check out should have been quick, but we had to argue about a charge with the front desk saying we'd requested breakfast upon check-in when we had actually declined it and never even saw the dining area. Otherwise, this is a solid place to stay for closer proximity to the Cliffs.
