This review is for the Hotel Breakers not the amusement park itself. The park is great and the rides are amazing! Don't let this hotel review stop you from going to the park! However, this hotel is AWFUL. From what I can tell, all of the hotels on property are pretty much awful. It's so run-down and in desperate need of some basic TLC. It was built in 1905 and had the potential to be one of those great old gems with character and ambiance. It was designated a historic hotel in 1987 but it was stripped of this honor (which is a big deal) in 2001. There is little to no resemblance of the great hotel that once was. The hotel wing additions look like a combo between military barracks and state-run psychiatric hospitals. Horrible stucco, faux balconies, cheesy turquoise awnings over the windows, window unit air conditioning, gross carpets, outdated decor, weird splatters on the walls, cheap doors, bad plumbing. Seriously, this place is on par with a roadside Motel 6. It's really sad because if they really cared, they could reinvest some money in the properties, update, and still probably attract just as many people! People are willing to pay $200-300/night to stay in these awful rooms so I am sure they would be willing to pay for something even a tiny bit nicer. The other sad thing is the employees....they schlep around in ill-fitting gaucho pants, hideous reeboks, and oversized blue and white tops. Seriously, they look like they are miserable and that they could double as hospital staff. They also don't get around to cleaning your room until about 4 or 4:30, right when you're ready to come back to your room after a long day of rides to get ready for dinner. My sister's ceiling leaked all night, the rooms smell like mold, the water shut off when my boyfriend was 5 minutes into his shower, water started bubbling up in the sink for no reason, the bathwater didn't drain, the wallpaper was peeling off of our wall (clearly from water damage). It was just awful!!! The worst part is, I would still tell you to stay here b/c of its proximity to the park, which can't be beat. Cedar point execs know they have you by the metaphorical balls and therefore they can charge you whatever they want and you will still stay in this disgusting place. It's just a sad way to do business and it's sad that they're unwilling to invest in what was once a great hotel. Sandusky, OH has clearly been hit hard by the down economy and its run down appearance is depressing. You would at least hope that once you arrive on property, you might feel like you've found a bit of an oasis amongst this sad town. Unfortunately, everything besides the amusement park itself feels like a sad extension of Sandusky. I hope that someone will take the initiative to rebuild this hotel and give Cedar Point something it can be proud of besides its great rides. read more

It's obvious you are paying for the convenience of being right next to the park and nothing beyond that. The hotel itself was fine. We stayed in the older building and it was certainly... old and could do with some updates. The door didn't even seal within the frames which made for a quite a noisy hallway. The beds are absurd. It's like the took a mattress frame and stuffed it with lumpy recycled pillows. However, after an exhausting day at the park, you hardly realize. My biggest compliant was the customer service. It's like know you're here for convenience so why do they need to provide a good experience? The second night we were there we wanted to hit the spa after dinner. The signs on the pool said it was open until 11 so we went over around 10 and the pool was closed. We went to the front desk and asked what was going on and the lady said the pools closed at 10. We let her know the sign said 11 and she said her paper said 10 so that's what we will be going off of. When we mentioned they should probably change the signs, we were ignored completely as if we didn't say a word. The next night we went back to the pool at nine and they were closing. Frustrated we asked the lifeguard who was picking up what the deal was and we finally got an answer. The pool we were going to had a broken light in the pool so, for safety reasons, they closed that one as the sun was going down. He then advised there were two other pools on the property that were open until 11. Information that would have been helpful the night before. The employees knew very little about what was going on and we got "i don't know" as a lot of our answers. I understand they are seasonal employees but for the amount of money you pay for an older, run down room... you'd think customer service was included. Now there are a lot of expectations when you pay premium prices. My family and I truly enjoyed the stay at Hotel Breakers. This isn't just a location thing. They have established a vacation escape. You can rent jet skis/wave runners. Charter a fishing trip. There are pools outside. There's the beach. We enjoyed the bar. We ate at 2 of the three restaurants inside the hotel bit pricey but service and food was on the spot. The kids went to bed time stories with snoopy in the evening. That was very sweet and enjoyable. My wife really liked the coffee at Starbucks. This is a place that you would want to come to not have to do anything but have a good time. Just remember to save the money to afford this type of service. We really enjoyed it. We will do it again and I would say it is the best place in the area to stay at. There are more economical options if you just can't bring yourself to pay these prices. We had a great time though. read more

This place is a pit! Yes it's in the park. Room is musty and dirty. We had 3 keys of which none worked when we had to get back into room. We lost an hour waiting for maintenance to fix it. Oh, the air conditioner didn't work either. A woman checking out next to us said she didn't have a working shower in her room. I won't be back!!! read more

First time to Cedar point and we decided we were going to stay onsite. The hotel is expensive but I guess you are paying for convenience but there were also inconveniences as well. I'll start with the positives: The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are multiple restaurants at breakers, you have Tomo which is a hibachi place, Perkins which is a family restaurant for breakfast,lunch and dinner and they have a tgi Fridays, there is also a Starbucks. There are multiple pools, one indoor and a large one outside with a children's water play area. They have a laundry room in case you need it on the 1st floor and don't worry if you don't have change they take cc cards. There is a small arcade but its mainly those claw games and riding games not much for younger kids. The beach area was super nice and kept very clean. The chairs and umbrellas are free of charge to use but it's a first come first serve basis. They have a ton of beach games to play for free as well, Jenga, corn hole, volleyball, Kan Jam, and this other game (not sure what it's called) but you have these large cans and you throw a ball into them it's kinda like beer pong but a larger scale. We always saw them cleaning the hotel inside and out. Now the not so positives: we were traveling as a family of 5 so the room we got was 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa suppose to be enough for 6 people, when we got in the room they only have 3 drawers in one dresser and nothing else. We were there for a week so it was impossible to share drawers so my husband and I kept our stuff in our suitcases. The bathroom is small and there are 3 doors in it making it feel even smaller, it's divided so that the shower and toilet are in one small area and then the other area has your mirror and sink, no drawers and the counter space is very limited. One door goes to the main bedroom and the other door goes to the living room (this door opens into the bathroom though blocking the sink or in my case hitting whomever was in there brushing their teeth). They should have used one of those doors that goes in the wall and pulls closed. Next there is 1 hook in the shower area to hang towels nothing else no bar nothing. There are no hooks where the sink is either. For a room that is suppose to fit 6 people they don't give enough amenities for 6 people. The restaurants are pretty expensive. Tgi Fridays was much more expensive then the ones I have ever been to. We ate there our first night and the service wasn't great, we ordered apps and they came out half cooked. The potatoe skins the cheese was laid in top and not melted I was able to pull it off in a whole piece so we asked for them to be cooked. Our meals came out and they weren't much better. We were going to try them again another day however I wanted to just place the order to go because we had chairs and an umbrella on the beach and didn't want to leave but they don't do to go orders. I was told that I had to sit and order I said I can sit and order then ask them to put them in to go containers didn't make sense so I left and we had Perkins to go. The restaurants in the hotel were all pretty expensive. We were going to go to famous daves at the marina but we couldn't walk there we have to take a shuttle, we were told we couldn't even drive because they wouldn't let you park at the marina, so we just drove out to quaker steak and had a great less expensive dinner there. The hotel has no business office to print anything crazy how much we pay and no business office. My husband had a confrontation with a gentleman that worked there on our first night there he was trying to get to Starbucks but apparently they were having some private party at the bar and supposedly you were not allowed to walk thru but the sign outside said Starbucks was still open to everyone the guy actually put his hands on my husband he was lucky he didn't get punched out. I'm not quite sure if we would stay there again I would really have to think long and hard about that. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for three nights during our trip to Cedar Point. We went late August during the week so we didn't experience the ridiculous lines others are complaining about with food and such. A good recommendation: I have gone to cedar point numerous times and if you go to cedar point go during the week as the crowds are much less for rides, water parks, food, hotel activities, restrooms, etc. If you go on the weekend or days around the weekend such as Friday you will experience lines as long as 3 hours to ride a single ride or a half hour to do something basic like use the restroom as crowds are much more. This hotel is very clean and staff are welcoming. They have great food as well they have a Perkins, Starbucks, Shogun, and TGI Friday's. All of those restaurants were very good. Pricey but no more expensive than eating food at the park. They also offer an hour early admission to the park, which is awesome. They have a fire going at night as well and a lot of people go outside and sit around the fire late at night after the park closes. They have a private beach too if you want to visit the beach. I just wish their pools and hot tubs were open later than 11 so you can swim after visiting the park. Overall, a good experience will stay here again the next time I visit cedar point. read more

Let's get the obvious out of the way... The hotel is badly in need of its upcoming 2015 renovation to update the circa '80's furniture and decor. They frankly need to take the rooms to the drywall and plywood and start over. It is an over 100-year-old hotel so the rooms (even suites) are smaller than you would expect of a modern hotel. I've stayed at hotels in Europe and New York that are just as small. Don't expect a discount for that. It's normal and part of the charm. I will say that there was nary a line at check-in, and our suite, while smallish and dated, was clean and comfortable, including in the bathroom. In-room and in-lobby complimentary coffee was available (although the in-room coffee maker had the wrong size carafe, so I had to lift it to get the coffee to flow from the basket). The in room TVs are still the old tube style, but I expect that will be addressed in the 2015 modernization. The channel lineup is very good, including Disney Channel and other family friendly offerings. The location is spectacular. The huge, sandy beach is reminiscent of high-end oceanfront resorts. We saw (but didn't use) the indoor and outdoor pools, and both seemed nice. Hard to worry about the pools when Soak City is only a 5-minute walk away. Cedar point is the same distance. Even Disney can't beat this resort/park proximity! As a recommendation for their modernization, I'd suggest taking a few cues from Disney. Let's start with integrating the room keys with the park ticketing and charge system. We purchased a package that included 2-day park tickets, and they were printed on receipt paper upon check in. Disney resort room keys double as park tickets and charge cards. It's all you need to take into their parks, along with ID. Not only more convenient and less likely to be damaged at the water park, but also helps drive higher in-park sales, and would eliminate the need for vouchers, wrist bands, hand stamps, etc. Another simple Disney cue is the booking process. There are a number of options that are available for a visit to Cedar Point. These include FastLane, Soak City cabanas, as well as dining packages. The only options presented when booking online were the hotel and park passes. Disney includes pretty much all optional add-ons during hotel booking. Again this would drive higher sales and a more satisfactory customer experience. With respect to the dining plan, it would have cost my family a total of $144/day (when taxes are included) and doesn't include drinks. Each person would have to eat three combo meals per day in order to make this a money-saving deal. We simply are breakfast at Perkins in the hotel (they offer kids' meals prices, which kept the cost below combo meals in the park), and had a big late lunch in the park. Total cost (including drinks) $110. The $15 all-day drink refill deal also didn't seem like much of a cost saver (although our visit was on cooler days). We made due with water fountains and the drinks from our combo meals. Another huge gap became apparent as we were leaving the closing park at 10:30pm and headed to the hotel. The family wanted ice cream. There's a soda shop called "Beaches 'n Cream" at the hotel. Not only are the hours for this (nor any other restaurant) NOT posted online (so we had to wander back deep into the park to make sure we got ice cream), but the next morning I found the hours aren't even posted on the doors. Cedar Fair can do a much better job providing basic park, hotel, and restaurant details online. As parents, when on vacation we like to partake in adult activities once the kids go to bed. Consider a beachside bar. On that note, another frustration with Cedar Point that Disney has already addressed is providing ride wait times and closures via their smartphone app. This helps people plan their navigation around the park. In addition the GateKeeper was closed both days of our visit with no advance warning or explanation. A final word on the park. I'm sure there are multiple viewpoints on hiring so many eastern European park workers when unemployment among young Americans is so high, but please only put those who are reasonably fluent in English in front of customers. When we went for late night ice cream while leaving the park, our initial server couldn't comprehend even a simple order, and required her more fluent co-worker to translate just to get by. There's not a lot I need to say about Cedar Point from a theme park perspective. The trade and media accolades say it all. It's the top seasonal theme park, and the greatest thrill ride park, in the world, bar none. It's clean, well staffed, and the midway games are loose enough to make your kids happy. Given every kid has a game console and/or tablet, the arcade seems a waste of a wonderful, historic building. It would be nice to see what they could do there with some creativity. I'm looking forward to our next trip, but we'll hold off until the Breakers renovation is complete read more

Will definitely return!! Exceptional kudos to the manager Alyssa and supervisor in training, Ben (his first day at this property and he was a rockstar!) After a rough start to our vacation where we drove 9 hours only to find the hotel that Global Hotel Card (NEVER use them btw) booked us was closed down after we paid upfront and had to find another hotel the night of and pay even more money, we arrived early to a Fully Friendly and Helpful staff. Very refreshing after what we had just encountered. Hotel Global could not provide us with an accurate confirmation number to verify our hotel, so in a frantic rush to make sure our trip wasn't ruined and we were without a place to stay again we booked a room with an accurate confirmation number. When we arrived early this morning to confirm they did have our original reservation as well as the one from last night. Rather than charging us the $50 cancellation fee, they refunded the total amount we paid and even provided us early admission passes to the park for the horrible experience prior. They truly turned our Griswold Vacation into the Stress Free vacation we had hoped!! read more

This was out first time at Cedar Point and the Breakers looked like the most convenient option. The price was super freaking expensive, but we decided to splurge. There are several restaurants on site for convenience. However, be warned that the prices at those restaurants are super inflated. There is an ice cream parlor, Starbucks, Bar, Japanese Hibachi, TGI Fridays and a Perkins. The room was nice except for the dirty pair of underwear that was waiting for us in the bedroom dresser upon our arrival.....(hey staff, take a look in the drawers when cleaning the room). The hotel is pretty nice and super convenient for going to the park....and you are paying for that convenience. We appeared to have a herd of nocturnal buffalo occupying the room directly above us and they were stampeding and doing god knows what else until around 2am three nights in a row. I know it's not the hotel's fault, but it always stinks when you have inconsiderate low life neighbors at a hotel. No coffee maker in the room which really sucked. I guess since they want to fleece you on already inflated Starbucks prices, providing you a coffee maker wouldn't make business sense. Everything else was pretty nice. The pools were nice, the grounds were very nice, and of course the convenience to the park can't be beat. There is a fitness room which consisted of two treadmills, two elliptical machines, two bikes, a weight machine that had two weight stacks and cables for operation (like a mini cable crossover machine), and several medicine balls. The best part of the weight room I found was the pull up bar on top of the weight machine...several different grip selections on the bar, so you can do neutral grip pull ups, chin ups and traditional pull ups etc.. The room is small but nobody else was working out so I had plenty of room. I did have one negative incident in regard to the bartender at the lobby bar. I entered the bar and stood there for several minutes while the bartender proceeded to wait on other people who arrived after me. It's a small bar and there were only a handful of people in there. I was beginning to think I was invisible. I finally had to get a waitress and place an order....unfortunately, she just gave my order to the same blind as a bat bartender. And again....he waited on a few other people before pouring my brew. So that was the first and last drink that I ordered at that place. If we ever go back there, I might consider staying at the breakers again for convenience, but I will definitely be more prepared in the food and drink department next time. We recently stayed here on a vacation. The renovations are nice but i dont think the staff is cleaning as good as they could be. We had a two bed room with a balcony that overlooked the water park. My wife has the nose of a bloodhound and she immediately upon walking in the room said she smelled urine. Upon further 'sniffing' she determined it was the comforter blanket that they put on the foot of the bed ........ so we discarded it into a corner ...... The bathroom was fairly clean but when i happened to look behind the TV stand we saw cookies , candy , old food and all sorts of things that had been there for awhile......... strike 2 We had a room with a bed / chair that unfolded to sleep a child, we opened it up and found granola bar pieces all over the bed so obviously no one had opened to check since the last granola monster had been eating in the pull out bed . Almost every staff member was from another non english speaking country, we were there for 3 days and we were constantly passing them in the hallways and throughout the complex, i dont think any of them have been trained in the hospitality business bcz most of them ignore you in the hallways no smile no simple 'hello' - thats not too hard to learn is it? Hola..... ? etc....... Some of them straight gave me the creeps as they would just stare at you like a Somali pirate from Captain Phillips...... sorry no other way to explain. We ate one afternoon at the Perkins inside the hotel, 1 star , not worth the $. Luckily Dominos delivered and saved us a couple of nights at a late hour. There is also a TGI Fridays inside the hotel but we did not try it. There are no real perks at Cedar Point Amusement Park for hotel guests other than 1 hiur early entry , free parking, and a short walk to entrance. We had to pay $100 per person per day for fast pass plus and trust me you dont want to go to cedar point without them or youll ride 1 ride per 1-2 hours and waste your day in lines. Universal Orlando offers hotel guests free fast passes as does Dollywood in TN. Not here . Pay to play only! So for 2 days we paid an xx $600 just for fast passes and we stayed at the cedar point owner hotel.......... bend over and take it lol We will probably never come back to Cedar Point so it was a once in a lifetime thing, NOT offering any real perks for Hotel Breakers guests will probably keep us from returning. Repeat biz is the way to success not hi jacking your clients when they come. Anyway back to Hotel Breakers . The beach is nice and the kids enjoyed it for an hour or so every day. Firework are easily viewed from the beach and boardwalk behind the hotel. In the a.m you can buy fast pass bracelets at the hotel front desk, this is not offered later in the day , another inconvenience for hotel guests, you have to walk a good ways to find an open fast pass purchase booth in the park later in the day . Elevators can get crowded at times during busy periods . WARNING ..... the doors to rhe elevators will close faster than normal, during our 3 day stay we saw 2 people get shoulder checked by the elevator door, one guest actually getting knocked to the floor.!! You have been warned ! They will not let you check in till 4 pm. We witnessed a poor lady trying to check in at 3:55 with no success. They acted like she was trying to blow up the hotel by checking in 5 min early. Obviously Hotel Breakers and Cedar point need to work on customer service and teaching out of country work visa employees about service and how to treat customers. It was annoying in the park to not understand most of the foreign workers that were trying to explain safety issues on each ride. Kind of important . About the only thing i could consistently understand was " Hello hello hello welcome back riders' after the ride was over . lol annoying but entertaining at same time. Overall idk if the $2500+ we paid for 3 nights and 3 days at cedar point with fast passes was worth it . Its an expensive proposal. The hotel does not live up to 'Resort' Prices. The rooms in the old section of the hotel looks like something from a 1970's porno movie. Old TV and old decor. The exterior of the building has numerous bee hives, mold, and weeds growing from the gutters and overhangs. The view from my room is of the garbage area, which I can hear the employees bringing out the garbage at 6 am. Dried paint all over our window. If the hotel is going to use this old section for guest, at least make it look presentable.....and don't eat at the hotel. Simple restaurants like TGI Fridays charge twice as much as a normal Fridays. read more

So- I love this hotel. I love the location, the remodel is wonderful. We stay here every year since it is so convenient. My disappointment lies with housekeeping. It is 8:30 at night and our room has yet to be cleaned (and it won't since our son is sleeping). We called and simply asked for towels and to take the trash, nothing. I know it's early in the season, the staff is new, it was a busy weekend. Yes, I get that. But there has to come a point to when the hotel management needs to figure this out and plan accordingly. This housekeeping issue has been a chronic problem multiple years and multiple visits. Help your staff out so they are not overwhelmed, all hands on deck to get this remedied! Also, room 1502 (pool side suite) apparently missed the shower remodel since it has the old shower which trickles out and your lucky to get hot water. I love Cedar Point, I love this hotel and will be back. I just wish they could figure these issues out. It's these things that could really push this place to be a 5 star resort to me in my book. read more

I had items (mainly prescriptions ) taken when room was cleaned last week. I have yet to get management to respond to me to express concern. There is a police report also . They know who went in and although without the camera showing the bag in their hand , there is no proof. But I know, so I am telling you to beware when you stay here. While I was waiting at front desk for an officer to come out I was asked by a giddy young man what my favorite ride was. Seriously? I told him I wasn't in the mood to talk about the rides. Duh, he already was aware of my dilemma. So, that's the only question anyone on staff has for me. Not , how can we help you or can you give me more details. ..what's your favorite ride? Management was sent email and I left voicemail. I said if I don't get contact back I'll have no recourse except social media. So here it is....unless Paul Messenburg in management does decide I'm important enough to get a return call. BEWARE! ! Update. ...Got a call and discussed situation with above named employee. He said they had no one enter the room that day. So they either are terrible at investigation or they're looking at the wrong day. Great location - steps away from the park which is why they appealed to us. Decent accommodations - mid-level rooms at best. Reason for the low rating? Housekeeping threw out my retainer when cleaning the room and all I got from everyone on the hotel staff was "Sorry about that." Really?????? Guess they don't care if they cost their guests $400. Will never go back. Would be willing to pay more for something farther from the parks that actually cares about how they treat their guests. Ridiculous! read more

I have stayed here many times over the years . Usually just for the convenience to the park and pools for the kids. The recent upgrades to the hotel are very nice and modern. Many restaurant choices , though a bit pricey as expected from being at a resort . If you are going to cedar point with your family for a vacation I highly recommend staying at hotel breakers over the hotels outside the park. The higher prices are worth it . read more

We stayed here and we enjoyed our stay - we had a room that had a balcony that overlooked the pool. Yes, the prices here are a little higher than hotels not on property, but the early entry and the ability to get access to your room at any time during the day without having to pile back into the car is a godsend! My wife is not as much of a coaster fanatic as my daughter and I am, so her ability to go to the room and sit at the pool made it a wonderful trip. We will definitely be staying here again in the futureQ read more

My family has been busy this summer and haven't had much time to get away. We decided to splurge on a quick, overnight trip to Cedar Point after reading the reviews highlighting the many improvements the resort has recently undergone. We, unfortunately, did not have the same experience as these reviewers. Check-in was quick and simple and we quickly got to our room. I was very surprised at how small the room was! There was just enough room for the 2 queen-sized beds, a small table dividing them, the television on a dresser, and a chair squeezed between the curtains and one of the beds. Despite the recent renovations, the room and, especially the bathroom, didn't feel newly done at all. There was a stain on the ceiling as well as hair and other debris high up on the walls in the bathroom. Yuck. We enjoyed the access to the beach and the pool areas that evening. Although the hotel was full, there were plenty of opportunities for fun with a number of beach games freely available. We returned to the room shortly after 9:00 with the intention of getting to bed early to be well rested for the next day at the park. At 10:30 pm the guests in the room on one side returned and 2 of them took showers. We could hear the water running and the clanging of the pipes as if there were no walls between us. Fortunately, after some talking, they seemed to go straight to bed. After 11:00 pm, several trucks backed up (beep, beep, beep) directly under our window and began throwing what I assume was garbage in a dumpster. At some point throughout the night the guests in the room on the other side returned and used their shower. They did not go to bed immediately and I could hear muffled voices for some time. Numerous times I was awakened by the noises of other guests in the hallway. I have stayed at hotels of various classes over the years and have only once in my life experienced a noisier night. We had stayed overnight in order to maximize our stay at the park but ended up cutting our day short as we were all so exhausted from lack of sleep. read more

My family stayed with this resort two days in May. It is very clean, close to the park, and the staff is professional and friendly. We ate at Perkins, Tomo (?), Friday's, and purchased drinks from Starbucks as well. Tomo and Perkins were great. Starbucks (very typical) needs work with customer service and Fridays food was mediocre. It rained most of the time so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor amenities much, but they looked nice. The indoor pool is too small and was always crowded and the chlorine smell was overwhelming much of the time. Otherwise it was a great experience and we plan to return. read more

The hotel is very expensive which I understand but the service doesn't match the cost. Stood in line for 20 minutes to check in at 3:30 and was told I would receive a text when my room is ready and that I would have to stand in line again for my key. Walked to the car which was parked in the loading zone. Two minutes later I get the text that my its ready. Stand in line again for 10 minutes. Once in the room call the bell hop to have luggage delivered. Three calls over a 10 minutes period. No answer. Retrieved it on my own. Bathroom seemed as though it was overlooked by house keeping. Toothpaste on counter tops and urine all over toilet. Came in 2016 and when I showed up to check in they were closed due to plumbing issues and directed to Breakers Express but charged me Breakers pricing. I disputed it with my credit card company and after two weeks it was resolved. After 5-6 trips here over the past 10 years this will be last. Love the park but there are way too many hotel options in the area. read more

SO impressed with Hotel Breakers! I had been there a few years ago and my experience was not significant or memorable, however I am amazed by the improvements they've made! The hotel is beautiful and so clean. Also, the staff was welcoming, kind, and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was great. I will most definitely stay again!! read more

The only reason I gave it 2 stars as it IS beautiful. Okay, so the leak in the sprinklers causing the elevators to be shut down wasn't their fault and I understand emergencies. For the price I paid I was shocked that it was a basic room, nothing else. No coffee maker, no real extras that I am used to. Then the internet. I have traveled the world (not bragging, just making a point) and I get internet, usually for free, everywhere outside the US. They wanted $9.99/day but when I tried to connect, no go. I called the front desk and they gave me a number to call. 20 minutes later the woman(in the Philippines) said she really couldn't help me. Small pool but if you need quick access to Cedar Point you are stuck. I was disappointed and glad it was only two days. read more

Service is terrible. Check in was at 4 and our room wasn't ready for 45 minutes. Took an hour to get more towels to my room after calling down twice! The employees are rude. The beach was flooded for our first two days, no one was aloud to even walk on it. When I went to check in they didn't even think to let me know. Overall the experience was poor, especially for the amount of money it is a night. read more

My boyfriend took me to Cedar Point for my Birthday and this is where we stayed for 2 nights. The receptionist that helped us was so nice!!! (i regret not remember her name) She patiently checked us in and walked us through where we were located, where to go after park is closed, hell... she even gave me some emergency razors. The room has good view but a bit expensive and the TV looked like we just stepped into the 40's. Have they ever heard of flat screens? Anyways, we had a good time there. The beach is nice, though there was a lot of dead fish along the beach and tons of may flies in the hotel. The park is fairly close-- walking distance. More positive than negative. We both enjoyed our visit very much. read more

Hotel service was horrible the two days we were here. Maid service cleaned our room when we had the "do not disturb" sign on our door, and got our money taken out of our bag from the maids. The hotel wouldn't reimburse us for our trouble, or offer us any discount on anything in the hotel. read more

So we drove onto the property which is awesome because it is a 5 minute walk from the park. The hotel is a little worn and dated. The bar definitely needs better bartenders. The restaurants are okay. But is anyone here for the hotel? The location is superb. read more

Five star experience, but in all fairness, for the price, it should be. Check in was a breeze. Our room was clean. The only issues we had were not enough toilet paper and the safe was closed. Both issues were resolved within 5 minutes of us reporting them. No wait at all at the Starbucks for us as others mentioned and we were always there around 7. I like my coffee around 6, so earlier hours would be nice. The beach access park entrance was not busy at all. We got in right away. We had park view and didn't miss the lake view at all. We had front row seats for the fireworks show from our room. Our daughter LOVED the children's splash area. It was a nice break from the park. It would be near impossible for us to stay anywhere else now because the location and amenities spoil you here! read more

We are staying at Cedar Point for three nights, and chose to stay at Hotel Breakers for the convenience to the park. However, we were immediately disappointed with the room we were given, right across from an elevator, and only on the second floor, in spite of having specifically requested a higher floor away from the elevator. While the desk manager did manage to get is a very slightly better location he really didn't seem very interested in helping us to upgrade or to accommodate us. Pretty disappointed with the service so far. On the plus side, the recently upgraded rooms seem pretty nice, but probably not worth your money unless you really want early access to the park. read more

Fresh, and new for 2015. We stayed with 8 families this June. What a difference. So nice, so convenient.

Really awesome kiddy pool with water slides. Very appropriate for toddlers and young children. We got to meet Snoopy twice. Excellent location by the beach and with a close park entrance to Cedar Point. Facilities are all very clean despite heavy beach use and foot traffic. We look forward to coming back! read more

Excellent property. Poor service. Doesn't seems to matter where on Cedar Point property - expect poor service. Most staff is inexperienced which is very unfortunate since the accommodations are quite nice. This includes the restaurants, hotels, rides - just about everything. I should mention that everything was damp in the room from high humidity. read more

I am writing this from the hotel. I arrived at around noon and check-in was fast. I reserved a suite overlooking the lake for Cedar Point's Halloweekends, and me and my brother and father were able to go into the room right away. One of the hotel's restaurants as not open and it was very difficult to find some way to get food. The lobby was all dressed up for Halloween, which was great, and they had "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" playing on loop for the kiddies out in the lobby. We went to the theme park and had a great time. Returning to the hotel, the place was hopping for Halloween even at around midnight. It was great. The next morning, my dad was using the sink the mini-kitchenette and his banged his head on the overhanging cabinet, which was far too close to the sink. He still has a small gash on his forehead. The next day at Cedar Point was great, and we were all dead tired at the end of the day. The next morning, today, there was no hot water for the shower!!! I tried calling the front desk but they never answered the phone. I went down to the front desk and they were unapologetic but promised to send someone up to check on the water. EDIT: I assumed they would work on it during the time I was in Cedar Point. I returned and THERE STILL WASN'T HOT WATER!!! Furious, I returned to the front desk. They got a supervisor involved and within an hour, the hot water was fixed. The supervisor tried to make several excuses but ultimately, they had to get an emergency plumber out to nail down the cause. Beyond the above, the fold-out bed from the couch was unacceptably lumpy and uncomfortable (I ended up sleeping on the couch) and the lighting in the bathroom was very dim. The cans of soda I put in the mini-fridge froze (thankfully they were already open and didn't burst). I guess the thermostat was set too low. The TV was superb and the view of the lake was great! The room felt a bit small, however, for being a suite. The room also felt a bit...cheap? I've had better looking rooms at a far-lower price hotel. The posters of roller coasters above the beds, and the creepy children picture in the bathroom was a nice touch, though. For the price I spent on the room, I was not happy with my experience at Hotel Breakers. I believe the money they charge was solely because they were "on the beach" and on the grounds of Cedar Point. If I ever return to Cedar Point, I will find another hotel. read more
