They went out of their way to make our stay pleasant, they even changed their own plans as well! As for the house itself, it is something out of a story book! Suzee is an exceptional designer, and the entire house feels lively and comfortable. You truly feel at home. You get the entire upstairs which includes a massive bedroom, a TV room, and a private bathroom. No one bothers you or even checks up on you. You are given the house key, so you are free to come and go as you please. With being only 1 mile from the lake (great for sunsets!), and just minutes from the great local shops and restaurants in Sandusky, OH, the Cottage Rose is the place to stay! (Especially at only $85 a night!).

Ann and her crew delivered a delicious hearty breakfast. It was a start to which we looked forward each morning. A couple of examples of the extent of hospitality were the attempt on Ann's part to shuffle rooms so that my mother had an accessible one. Also, we had access to the use of their washer and dryer when we needed it. Ann gave us useful suggestions on where to visit. About 3 weeks ago, Cedar Point let its hotel guests know that they would be closing their hotels on Monday and Tuesday nights. This meant that our booking of Sunday night through Tuesday would be half invalid. I was scrambling to find us a hotel in the area that wasn't insanely priced or disgustingly gross. I found this Hampton Inn and the price was great - we paid $250 total for 2 nights. The hotel is about 20 minutes from Cedar Point, which isn't terrible at all for the price that we paid. I checked in online the day before and our room was ready at my selected check-in time. We arrived about 15-20 minutes before that time, so that was on us. Receptionist was super nice and helpful. She was also very nice the next morning when I came down to ask about the breakfast boxes. Breakfast boxes consisted of a yogurt, mini bagel, and two hard-boiled eggs. Not the best breakfast - but for a free box, it was fine. Coffee is served 24/7 in the lobby. Pool is open until 11pm and had a hot tub that was absolutely fantastic after a long 7 hour drive. Main pool was a bit cold, but we made do. The room was extremely clean - they had the sticker to indicate that the room had been cleaned and sanitized. Room came fully stocked with toiletries - including shower cap and cotton swabs. They aren't doing housekeeping during the stay, so if you need anything you can just ask the front desk. Beds were comfortable and came with a heavy comforter, which was very nice. Pillows were actually not bad. All in all, I had a great stay and will definitely be keeping my eye out for Hampton Inn's in the future.
